Hi all, I'm not addicted to post on forum or even discuss, but for a long time (~3 years since disabling every music ingame and listening to http://www.di.fm) I was wondering if it will be possible to deactivate the fight / battle music .

Thanks

You can turn all the music off via the volume bars, but not just battle music.

Although if you're gonna turn off battle music may aswell turn it all off, unless you wanna hear the abyssea theme repeated over and over for hours on end.

I dont want to use any trick , like changing the music file.
Battle music are so borrying ...

My wish is to have an option which permit to disable battle music and only listening to ingame background music.

=.=; it achieves the same purpose delete the music dats related to battle music or rename them. it achieves the desired goal only doesnt waste our dev time on things that dont actually matter

You can use /battlebgm if you are a mage. That should disable music when your party engages.

If you are speaking of just battle music then fair enough. However if you mean all game music but keep SFX you can already do that in as mentioned Menu > Config > Gameplay > Music Volume - drag it all the way to the left.

Nice choice in radio station by the way. I also listen to DI when I play. Listen to mine through winamp though.

If you just want to remove battle music you could just find the dat that holds the battle music and remove it.

he "doesnt want to touch any of the files" >.<; but wants to waste dev time that could be better spent.

What about deleting the .dat file for the battle music?

That would probably work.

Well thats the only real option aside from turn all music down, so I guess he's gonna be SOL.

No im a player who wants more important crap looked at compared to useless stuff that can be fixed by yourself. Do you not remember those stupid bells?

I see, so you want to mute battle music only? So after disengaging the mob, you want to hear the music of the zone you are currently in?

Fair suggestion then.

I personally just full-time my DI.fm and have my SFX high enough so that the music from the radio station doesn't over-ride this.

i actually like this idea, if i understand it righr. being able to just listen to the zone music at all times would be nice. the battle music can get grating at times, i usually have some silliness playing in tge background instead. but say in zones like lufaise, or saruta s. i would much prefer to hear the background music instead of the battle or campaign . i dont think you can datswap it out, there's only one case where that works, which is when two zones have the same music. but copying makes two different files with the same data

you can dat swap almost all the games music out, petty sure if you rename the battle music the games zone music pauses till the battle is over.

As you I'm full-time on di.fm with sfx on. I want crappy battle tune to be disabled when engaged or disengaged and listen to the fine tune of the map.

I'm sure the devs are grown up and know their priorities...

-----------------------------------
since this topic about ingame music, is there a shortcut to disable ingame music and re-enable it?
most the time I use windows mixer to do that, much faster than opening game menus, unless I'm missing something.

Not a bad idea Malf. I hope they let you turn off campaign music also while they are it. Having to listen to those drums while i'm trying to level up can give me a headache.
