The title says it all can we expect the new slimes and spriggans that are being used for the event as monsters in the wilds of ulbuka?

Slimes please no, they don't fit the world at all. The spriggans look ok though.

The slimes could use more of a 3D look instead of the 2D look they currently have; however, Final Fantasy games usually have random cartoonish characters.

Judging by FFXIV's Lightning Returns event, we can't expect them to be added as permanent enemies. In fact, I'm worried that the DQ Slime and Spriggan may just be alternate and temporary reskins for FFXI Slime and Hare monipulators.

Here's hoping that the monipulators are permanent, unique species with new TP moves.

I hope they are real unique monsters, if not, this event is a waste of time, if they are, its an amazing event, 1 detail that will change it from being either horrible or awesome.

I sure do hope so. If not... I see 0 reason why anyone would or should try and unlock these species in Monstrosity if they will just be taken away from you in a week or so.
The special event items won't poof away.... so hopefully neither will the monipulator "skins".

If they have unique TP moves.... why would them being part of the slime and rarab families matter?
They'd be like special NMs.... which fits perfectly in with Monstrosity because all monipulators are basically NMs anyways.

Spriggans drop metal and ores in FFXIV. They also are ranged magic casters. They like to throw a magical ball of energy (if I remember correctly from 1.0) that bursts upon hitting you. They can also cast lightning magic, and they are NOT to be taken easy.

They sure are! Even after the collaboration event has concluded, you'll be able to use Spriggans and Slimes in Monstrosity. :D

Now what about some adjustments? I think slimes should given a metal skin and given their mega magic attack!

Now what about some adjustments? I think slimes should given a metal skin and given their mega magic attack!...with the hidden effect of "all non-critical hits deal 0-1 damage" like the mobs from a certain crab BCNM have?

Also, will we be able to unlock Trust NPCs after their event passes? As much as I love these events its truly distressing that they might be restricted in such a way. :(

It's a crossover event. They have had plenty of items in the past that are only unlockable during a certain time period, such as a seasonal event or with a retail item purchase. When the crossover is over, it's reasonable to expect that people won't be able to unlock the crossover items anymore. It's a vanity item for the people that participated in the event.

In the past you would get, as you said, vanity items, things which are literally for looks and not much else, which is fine, but these are Monsters with unique Instincts and Abilities as well as their unique looks, which is what makes it different.

The same goes with NPCs. A NPC such as Zeid is a NPC we should always be able to unlock, even after the Login Campaign, because he is a unique NPC with a unique AI and a job we do not have foreseeable access to in the current list of future NPCs. If it were instead just another skin for Zeid or something, that would be different, it would be vanity, but right now he is a unique NPC that we have and I think thats why he should always be unlockable via something like a quest.

Slime has no abilities, Spriggan has one ability. Neither of them have Instincts. They are vanity monsters.

They may have another way for Ciphers in the future. The system is still very young. Ciphers are for characters with no NPC you can interact without outside cutscenes.

Beat me to the punch..

Slimes dont have any tp moves at all since they are grabbed from an entirely different game were slimes either attack you or run away. The closest thing to any tp move would be 9 of them merging into a king slime. From what I can tell Spriggans in the farming phase does one tp move ocasionally. So that might be the only tp move they get since they were taken from a slightly different Final Fantasy title. So its nice to know at least slime instincts are cheap support for most of the other monsters. With that said despite having a War job set with unusualy high eva on slimes. You would think (based on farming slime coins) they would at least toss in flee or a retreat ability that would remove agro and warp the slime to another random location in that grid on the map. (it'd be a good way to get out of a loosing battle as a slime)

I doubt there will be a sub speecies for either but it would have been nice to be a red slime (mage) or mettal slime (supperior eva, def, mp -dmg & really really low health.. with flee)

I cant remember where they said it but i think they mentioned having a part 2 of the crossover event in march or may, so maybe more subspecies then who knows!
