Hi, I am a returning player and I'm having trouble configuring my controller. In fairness it's a pretty cheap controller so it could not be working because of that but i thought I'd ask anyway. None of the pre-set control profiles work properly and when i map the buttons myself the camera, movement and menu controls are all tied together, an example would be when I'm in the menu and I'm navigating it, I'm also running all over the screen lol. I was just wondering if anyone here on the forums has had the same problem and/or would be able to guide me in the right direction?

Thanks :)

I've never had that issue happen, but did you configure that exact controller in ffxiconfig?

I know it's a seemingly obvious question, but even when you replace a controller with the exact same controller, the config can mess up.

Thanks for the reply :) . Yea I configured it in the config menu, I did it manually and i tried all the pre-sets. I have read online about trying 3rd party mapping software, so I'll try that when i get home.

hi there, not sure if you've figured out the problem as of yet, but if you have downloaded the game digitally or from steam them it gives you multiple configs for different regions of the game. best thing to do would be to go to the file structure of the game and find the one for your region, then change the config with your gamepad settings. Also if your using a ps3 or ps2 gamepad try using the motionjoy application to pre-configure your controller

There's some checkboxes in the configuration application for enabling HAT and sliders. Have you tried combinations of those? I needed to enable HAT switches to get my PS2 controller D-Pad working with my Super JoyBox 5.
