The beloved pankertion matches needs a facelift! Nobody goes to these or takes pictures other than for znm points. Why not incoperate a tournament or something rewarding or more usefull to this event than watching something this inventive go to waist. Raise the mobs lv to 99 like characters and increas the mobs u can capture and more stuff. Sadly I agree with previous posts anything to get people interested insomething needs a reward system. Which could be gotten each time in a tournament or point collections like it is just expAND the possible items you can get interating the new higher lvs also :)

It's called Pankration, but yea the only time I ever played it was to grind points to buy cameras/photo plates to turn in for ZNM points.

It's fun, I ran around and collected abilities for a couple of my mobs so I could sit there with the "winner" mob for a while. An update that provides rewards would be nice.

The system could use some attention. What it really needs are rewards of some kind.

If they added more rewards (Even just "fluff" Gear for looks) I'd continue doing it.

Really, They could raise the mobs in theres level cap to ~75 now, Lets us level them a bit more, give them some power, add some new rewards, would be fun.

However, Not everyone enjoys Pankrationmon, So this might be a low priority. plus, Unless they add something useful people will probably complain they're wasting time on this. So you REALLY need to add a reason for everyone to do it. Look below!

It'd be nice if they just didn't let this die in the water, but it feels like players don't care about fun side-events if theres no real reward, which is why systems like this tend to die. I personally really liked it early on, but it became boring when people stopped doing it :|

Tell ya one thing, You give us Imperial Standing Rewards from pankration, and it will be the most used event in FFXI. Especially with the upcoming System that requires you to buy things with IS/CP/Etc.

Add an Imperial Standing reward to Pankration battles and it will literally completely revive the system

Think about it, Imperial Standing can be converted to Gil (Coins), so people will do it for that, and Its also going to be used in the upcoming event. So its win/win.

Although this may sound like a troll post, I think the concept was a bit silly to begin with and utterly boring. But sure for those of you that loved that side of the game then good stuff. Hope they update it for you.

I personally won't use it and think there are more important things that need to be cleaned up before this. But won't troll anyone that liked it...

While i agree there are better things to fix, The idea of adding Imperial Standing to Pankration would at least ease a lot of problems people have with the Voidwatch System requiring Imperial Standing for certain things. Because that Area is generally unused, and Beseidged, while a good deal, doesn't happen as often as one would like.

I don't want/expect a super over-haul, But adding a little more incentive to do it would be nice. Its at least a midly amusing side-activity.

I do agree somethings do deserve more notice first. This is a side project that could use some love also w/e the Dev team has some time. But it is a favorite of mine and I enjoy it as others I know. Is it a old thing to do? Semi yes... Does it neeed better stuff definatly.

If they start giving out usefull stuff in pankration, they will need to overhaul the feral skills first, or it'll be dark elementals all the time. Each type of monster should have preset skills (like they have now), but it should not be possible to double up on them. And job traits/spells should be 0 FP.

If an overhaul is done on pankration I have a request.

Make the monsters cap the same as player cap and allow bst to call the monster as their pet.

Probably limit the types of summonable mobs be the same as what a bst could charm normally.

Or hard to get or unique pankration pets. For instance, Iron Giants or chibi versions of big monsters such as behemoths. Abyssea has a few of those such as Nauls (mini-wyrms; not usable in Pankration) or the NM Gangly Gean (mini-version of Spring Treant; already usable in pankration in it's chibi size with pollen cloud effect :D)

Chibi monsters always sell well ;D.
