Greetings!
For quite a while we have been receiving requests to add more challenging versions of mission battles and other battlefield content for level 99 players to challenge. Below is a comment from Producer Akihiko Matsui in regards to plans to add these in the November version update!
Matsui here.
In the November version update we will be adding higher-tier versions of existing battlefields for players who are level 99.
For the higher-tier battlefields, you’ll be able to select the difficulty level of your choice at the entrance.
We'll also be preparing special rewards that can only be obtained in the higher-tier battlefield. The quality of the reward will not change depending on the level of difficulty you select; however, we're making it so the drop rates and amount will vary.
Higher-tier versions of mission battlefields
We'll be introducing stronger versions of enemies met in missions. We just might be adding one of the battlefields that is very popular amongst adventurers…
The minimum difficulty level will be set quite high, and when selecting the hardest difficulty, we expect even the most seasoned adventurer to have a difficult time.
Higher-tier versions of battlefields that use seals
The strong enemies that many adventurers fought seeking to get-rich-quick will once again appear in a new light. The difficulty for these has been slightly toned down, and the easiest of the battlefields has been set so that players that do not have equipment with item levels can take these on.
* New items will be required to enter these battlefields as they will not use the existing seal items.
The specific details as to what can be obtained are still in-development, but we plan on providing a variety of items including those with item levels. Please look forward to it!

Hurray for Divine Might vII? With Re-tooled Suppa/Bushi etc @_@?
What about the CoP rings/ToAU rings update that were mentioned however many months ago, is this, "that"?
Oh!!! <<Maat's cap>> v2 ??? That would make me so happy.

Step 1: make all-new content that makes all old content irrelevant, even though said old content still produced hundreds of game-hours for players.
Step 2: rehash old content.

You must not have seen the many requests asking for old content to be renewed somehow--especially now that Item Level gear and Level 99 have taken most of the challenge out of them in the first place.
This is a step in the right direction. Now if we can get updates to ancient stuff like Garrison and Expeditionary Force...

Anything is fine as long as gears don't outdate every 3 months. Gears oudate every 3 months=best way to bleed sub.

I would have to say it's about GD time! Spent years getting great gear from sky and sea now the places are empty, I was hoping SE would pull it's head out of its collective butt, and make those areas relevant again. New bcnms, right on it's about time for that too. I just hope they do it in such a way that all the delve and skirmish stuff we've been doing since SoA came out doesn't become outdated, but rather a choice between gear pieces like we used to have, its getting kind of silly seeing everyone running around looking like everyone else.

I'm predicting that in a few months, we'll get Delve 2.0 to outdate all this stuff, and then after that they'll give us Assault level 129 or whatever and then Delve 3.0, and then SCNM level 139 etc etc. So because they lack the manpower to adapt a vertical progression system in XI, they're going to instead just readjust old content over and over so we have all the worst parts of vertical progression (Gear outdated at light speed) and the worst parts of horizontal progression (lack of truly new content).

I'm going to call failure on this from the get go.
We have enough items/points to collect as is for the battlefields. Add a different tier of orbs to enter the upgraded. This isn't hard.
Start announcing the rewards, unless it's something relevant like side grades to Hurkan. Yumcax, Delve, Skirmish 2.0 or w/e items come later we don't need our monthly fees wasted on this.

I can't wait to defeat a tougher version of some of those fights. Any chance there will be HQ avatar fights? Waking the Beast v2!
While the dev's are making the new battlefields, could you have them take off the level cap restriction on the pre-existing ones, especially the ones that require everyone present to have a 'key item' to enter (enm)?
I still want to play with bahamut v2 some more...bahamut v3, could that happen? make it happen!

I think your right, its just going to be revamps of important story missions most likely. A second battle with Promathia for a super Raja Ring, a second battle with the Ark Angels for a super Suppanomimi, a second battle with Bahamut or the Zilart Brothers for a super Ethereal Earring, and so on. That's how I assume it will be from what they said, I even kinda hope/expect the WotG mission where you fight Atomos & Cait Sith to be redone and it be the way we unlock those 2 as avatars, though that's kinda a long shot, it would be nice...

New areas and Seekers of Adoulin missions scheduled to be added with the November update mean that pioneers will be able to unearth even more of the Ulbukan continent's secrets. Moreover, antsy pugilists will likely be able to indulge in all the carnage they desire with the following additions: new content for individuals as well as small groups; more gruesome versions of existing battlefields; the ability for monipulators and adventurers to square off against each other in Monstrosity; NPCs able to participate in colonization and lair reives; and enhancements to artifact, relic, mythic, and empyrean equipment.

Chances are they will have slips, which means, no extra space taken except in your inventory.
I look forward to the case, I have to sort my inventory weirdly, all RDM gear in Satchel, all random items I might need in the field in my sack, seals & suck in locker, armor for other jobs in Storage, and my Safe holds my weapons for other jobs. With the case, I will be able to finally hold all of my DD gear in a place to its own, making my DRG, WAR, and MNK easier to gear up. I don't think we will be filling up our cases with just more random junk unless we specifically get more junk to fill it.

since there will be multiple difficulty levels, please make sure to call the hardest difficulty "av mode"

Step 3: Rehash brings old content into relevance vis a vis new content.
Step 4: Make all existing new and old content have a difficulty level set by the players doing them
Step 5: Sit back and actually enjoy a game that everyone thought was dead
