Hello I was wondering if you could maybe think about creating a drg relevant black belt questline style way of building a singular piece from the ground up to have something to work for as a drg?

I was thinking the piece of choice I'd like to see done is the ammo slot and make it a re-usable angon that has stats on it.

Conserve TP, Haste, Attack, HP, MP, Hhp, Hmp, +Delay combined with accuracy, or -Delay with attack boost, Wyvern HP, wyvern PDT or MDT, STR, VIT, earth affinity, wind affinity, and lightning affinity are all stats I'd enjoy to see on it.

While any Jump ability bonuses are welcome I'd like to see a innate DA or TP bonus for all jumps added to one of the higher tier pieces (perhaps final forum?)

another interesting feature I'd like to see is Angon ability +1 where it basically tacks on an additional merit level to your angon.

IDK about wyvern breaths as this weapon doesn't primarily focus on wyvern breaths but hey if devs deem it so then let it bee!

I'd love to see more questable gear in this game as a whole. An item obtained BB-style would be great but I feel like that would really be asking too much from SE to add that because they'd have to attach a quest and story to it as well. And in all fairness, every job deserves something like this. I guess I also wonder how the quest would be completed, since there are no free-spawning NMs in Adoulin.

With that said, I would definitely do it if SE put it in the game.

I don't see why MNK, an already powerful job gets its own quested powerful item -- Black Belt, but not any other job(actually SMN got evoker ring). All jobs should get a questline for powerful gear or a quested JA/spell.

unlocks new pet ability:
Omnomnom
Your wyvern eats the next monster that is below 25% health, gaining 25% of the monsters stats and the ability to use three of their TP moves for 20 minutes.

It will just be out-dated by the time anyone does the quest... just like noone uses BB anymore.

Except BB is still relevant and a usable belt as a mnk moving into audolin besides that BB is getting an upgrade, so if BB is getting an upgrade they could just make drg angon relevant to the same from the getgo

I think all jobs that didn't get a Legion spell, should get a job specific piece of equipment that's quested or comes from a hard fight that gives them a potent bonus to one or more JAs.

For DRG it could be a r/ex angon that never gets consumed and inflicts a weaker Defense Down(15%+5% from merits) but the status it inflicts is called something else and has a different icon so it stacks with other defense downs. Or it could be an Ammo piece that gives a vast amount of Jump TP bonus or Enhances Jump DMG by a large amount.

SE won't be upping jump dmg for awhile. they said they are happy wth where it's at currently.

I mean they've given so many buffs to SAM's damage output in the past 5 years unrelated to gear/weapon selection.

-Zanshin was modified to give DA when Hasso is up. So SAM/WAR has 20% DA when hasso is up.
-Fudo was incredibly powerful then they got Shoha which was even stronger; meanwhile Reso/Stardiver was needed for DRKs and DRG because their empy WS was crap; yet SAMs was already very top tier.
-Hagukre
-The Last Resort thing from /DRK pretty much only benefits SAM/DRK since Hasso+LR stack; WAR and DRG needs /SAM's tools so they don't benefit from /DRK.

DRG by comparison has gotten so few damage buffs. We got some parry/eva/hp, our Wyvern got ILevel bonuses(makes them very powerful on TW, makes them still flimsy against NMs/HNMs.

We still need some kind of damage buff. Something that enhances either Haste/Crit/Attack/Multistrike; some kind of offensive ability. Stardiver is a good WS but it's just that. Good. It's not excellent or amazing or powerful. We don't have a strong ability to use before a WS to increase our WS damage any higher. WAR SAM and DRK have abilities to modify their WS damage to make them deal exponentially more.
SAM has Hagakure/Overwhelm/Hasso/Konzen-ittai
WAR has Berserk/Aggressor/Blood Rage/Warcry/Restraint/Warrior's Charge
DRK has Scarlet Delirium/Last Resort/Souleater

If DRG got like 1 or 2 abilities, one that adds +Attack/Haste and lasts for 2-3min and another that makes the next Jump deal 2x damage and give back 2x more TP(like Power Surge in FFXIV) or let wyverns occasionally give DRGs some of their TP. It could be trait called Dragon Heart. 10% of the time, the TP the Wyvern would normally gain from a successful hit would instead go to the Dragoon. So 10% of the Wyvern's hits would give the Dragoon like 7-8% TP. It's just that Wyverns do pitiful damage to NMs, still hitting Tojil and other Delve NMs for 80-90s with like 40-60 damage breaths even with Upukirex's Item Level 119 and Empathy lv5 Parameter Boost. Either let us lock away Wyvern Breaths so we can Spirit Link every 90 seconds for a free, large chunk of TP from our wyverns or let wyverns contribute some of their TP to the master occasionally.

DRG right now is powerful but only because Upukirex exists. Wait until the Item Level 119 Greataxe comes out with like +25% DA and the 119 Scythe comes out with like 290 base damage and WS DMG+30%, then watch how DRG falls back into like 4th/5th place DD behind WAR/DRK/SAM/RNG/MNK.

We would like to introduce job specific accessories and associated quest-lines not only for dragoon but for all jobs! However, we do have some content and adjustments that are set in higher priority and also there are 22 jobs that we will need to plan for, so please understand that this will take some time.

Hmm maybe they'll add in belts with ilvl and we'll have Adoulinian equivalents of the Dyna accessories. Hope the quests deal with the storylines of the AF quests which would be a nice touch I mean I know the passage of time isn't really felt in the game all too well but maybe a continuation of the storylines with a "where are they now" kinda angle might work because I'm sure some players would like revisiting older characters.

Better yet, Scrooge's pogo cane move to replace normal auto-attacking. You have to move around yourself and bounce on mobs to damage them.

The notion of 20 new AF quests; if done correctly is exciting news. I hope they don't rush these quests. They need to be well thought out, take place in different zones and expand upon the job's lore/history. I don't want 20 job quests all taking place in Adoulin that take 3-4min each to do involving: harvest this here, mine this here, come back and your AF is upgraded. I want storylines and battles expanding on old storylines. I hope they don't all take place in Adoulin.

Now this sounds interesting.

For the quest-lines, they should reward mage jobs with some kind of R/Ex scroll to learn new spells. Massacre Elegy and/or Third Tier March come to mind for Bard... <_<

Spells like Banish IV for Whm. Dia/Bio IV, Haste II for Rdm, perhaps Temper II which could be cast on other players similar to Phalanx II...?

There's a lot of potential here, and I really hope the dev team doesn't disappoint.

It's highly dependent on your server's NA population. Your server may or may not be able to make pick up groups for Muyingwa. Some servers can barely field a handful of linkshells capable of beating it, let alone merc it.

Still challenging.. The only people getting it are the ones geared to the teeth and have alot of experience I myself have game experience but not enough powerful gear for the way I play to obtain what I want.. although with my new weapon It's improved my ability to play as drg/whm

It's incredibly easy to get very well geared in this game now:

Step 1) Do Cirdas Skirmish until a polearm drops.

Step 2) Do low level Yircia Skirmish until you get the KI reward.

Step 3) Trade your weapon for the +1 (and I'd recommend using a +2 stone on it and keeping whatever aug you get).

Step 4) Spam higher level Yorcia Skirmish to farm armour and wings (for more armour). Then aug the armour with +1 stones until you get the augs you want.

Now you have a very acceptable set of gear to choose from. Especially since it includes a decent PDT set that you can actually mellee/WS in (though I would still recommend gearing for a 5-hit). Oh, and you can get a 5-hit when not /SAM now :)

I find that hard to believe unless you give up alot of damageand acc, what's the set-up like?

It looks something like this (http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/313144)

That's 1 option. I don't have Phorcy's Dirs, but using them can open up other options, either for other belts, or a different head. You can also use a different back if you're struggling for acc. Karieyh Feet also carry 10 more acc, if you can afford to drop the haste (like if you have phorcy's Dirs).

It's also worth mentioning that the set I posted only has 24% haste, but that's enough as long as you have ionis.

That's not how you link sets. Anybody with an AH profile will just see their own sets. However, I don't recall how to structure your link to show your set.

A version of that set for the more well-to-do player would probably start with swapping out Tyrant's Ring and Phorcys head for those from Tojil. The offensive gains wouldn't be that huge (mainly ACC and ATT), but the combined +100~ HP and various defensive junk on the helm would make life a lot safer.

I like the build to bad I don't gear swap very much as it's incredible that you can hit that much tp.. only problem I have being a drg/whm is I'm giving up attack and acc for that sick 5 hit lol..

If I'm honest, I was kind of hoping that someone would point out possible gear improvements :D so much new gear to check through these days. I still somehow haven't done Tojil yet though... everytime I've been asked to go along I've been busy helping friends with something else, and I feel bad if I abandon them.

There's never an excuse to not be swapping at least 5 bits of gear to WS. If you are able to get get the gear from Tojil that Spankwustler mentioned, then the 5 obvious slots to swap (to me) for WS would be feet, waist, neck, hands and body. If you can't then maybe swap head instead of body, idk. You can always make a separate macro just for the gear swap allowing an extra 6 slots to swap.

Also, bonuses of /whm for gaining TP:

1) If you happen to not use any breaths for a minute, Spirit Link grants a nice chunk of TP^^.

2) If you're /whm because you're soloing, then getting hit is giving you some extra TP, so you don't need as much Store TP.

all of your point's in the last part I'm well aware of :p I am a seasoned soloer.

However when It comes to gear I do switch pieces out mainly ones that don't blink (but I would if it benifited my ws or any of my other abilities... but most of those come from non blinkables). I use vanilla macros and only use what's given to me per macro to build on my ws's. I don't use an equip button before I hit my ws's because that might kill me spending a few seconds switching....

when I /sam It's pretty much the same way.

I'm not looking for maximum output (although I do look to become stronger) I'm looking to have one set of gear that is efficient and helps me without the need for blinking all the time or changing gears and generally making the game more complex than it needs to be. Having a lot of bag space is also one of the perks to following this path.
