Whats a sig?

A Sig <Signiture> usually, Consist of 4 to 5 things can be more but I find it really not necessary, <Username> Stats, Picture with a background, A quote can be funny, sad, cute, etc~ Size.. Does it matter? Well some people like to use very Big pictures and call them Sigs, To each their own, Me personal Big things come in small sizes after all, Why would one need to use a Picture on a forum. "We're talking about Sigs <Signiture> here people, Mind you" :p I Found it to better to use the size "600x150" or "650x300" cause it shows respect to others using the forum, Not taking up the whole thread. There are also many ways to make a "Sig" and are used for different reasons.

Here is a few I made back in the day... Ahhh the good ol' days!!

Some of these I made for friends and family as well as Members I meet along the way, Most was used for Sky forums. On rare occasions I still make Sigs for members.

A "sig" is a signature. Something to "sign" your posts with. Same as a signature on e-mails, for example. Often, especially on gaming boards, people make image signatures, usually a depiction of their character in some weird pose (often with gear they don't have) just doing random things, sometimes including a phrase they deem cool and data about their level or other miscallaneous things.

Many people on forums or message/image boards use it as an excuse to post a huge picture that takes half a HD screen, that shows everything they've ever obtained in the game. Others just use it for random pictures or links that have nothing to do with them at all. Most forums automatically restrict the height of a signature to not distort the message boards, this one doesn't seem to do that though. Either that or the threshold is ridiculously high. Occasionally it will be deleted by moderators, thankfully, but not often enough.

A sig was what people used on Killing Ifrit to distract people from the content.

A sig is the reason you have to browse some ffxi forums while not being logged in at work.
