I mean, FFXIV producer Naoki Yoshida, take the time to write to the community, how come we don´t get that? ( as far as i know, maybe i am wrong, in that case i am sorry for this thread).

Cheers¡

Because FFXI is old and not a top priority. SE's big push is FFXIV right now.

Because FFXI's producer isn't as awesome and doesn't have the same problems to address

we got one not too long ago when the dev team was replaced.

I'm glad the producers / dev's rarely comment on these forums..

Half the thread titles.. read like rabid nerds begging for their perfect fix to the game....

and the other half are people who don't want the changes.....

Internet forums make me question if democracy really works >_>

maybe the elite class really do know best ;p

Of course people are dissatisfied. It isn't even an original game, it's like an FFXI reboot. You're not an Elvaan, your a "Elezen", you're not a Paladin, you're a "Gladiator". Seriously? Same races, same jobs with different names... I'm sorry, but I'm not going to drop FFXI to play a look-a-like. Besides, at the rate SE releases their content, FFXIV won't even be a full game for another 5 years. (I'm referring to how slowly expansion content has actually been released in the past)

we get a twitter page, a forum, "the ffxi team answers your questions". and now you want to hear from the producer?

SE, how come we dont get a free donut and coffee when we log in? seriously, I could use one every morning.

If it was a remake of 11 with pretty graphics it probably wouldn't be doing so badly.

Make no mistake.. ffxi was a horrible game too when it was first released..

but the mmo market was different back then.. their only competition for 2 years was everquest.. after which WoW came out.

ffxi had a serious lack of content upon release.. similar to 14

Rather than giving us a brand new game while copying some things from FFXI but renaming them, I think SE would've done better to completely copy everything of FFXI and improved the graphics, remastered the music, and maybe add a whole new full expansion with Nobuo Uematsu has its music composer. This could be released for PC version only at first and then maybe later it could be made for PS3 and Xbox 360 or they wait until the nextgen systems come out and place them on that. The game can be called FFXI-2 or still remain with the title FFXI.

Then again, I don't know much about how a business should run and how to make profits, so I'm leaving all of that to SE who knows what they're doing.

FFXIV is probably light years ahead of FFXI when it was released but it doesn't change the fact that the game was still rushed in todays market that has competition left and right. Now it will never recover. The damage has been done. People have been playing it for like 6 months for free now. If they had only had some patience on release and waited the extra year that they needed to wait they might have gotten millions hooked. But they didn't do that. And now the game is pretty much ruined for all time unless they can somehow play their cards right once the game is of an acceptable quality and get reviewers to review the game as if it was brand new release. I suppose they could pull that off for a PS3 release. If it's great by then word will spread. It's not too late I guess but it really is do or die for the PS3 release.

I wish the FFXI staff would get personal with us but I guess what we're getting is as good as it's going to get. But it's like meh, whatever. Stay busy working on the game for me. I'm not paying for the game for my health.

Is it me or are these boo-hoo threads getting tiring? I mean does anyone REALLY care, besides the OP, that we haven't got a generic statement from the producer? As long as we're kept up to date with content info from the dev team I really don't need much else. Hmmmm...maybe it's just me?

I really wish they could at least give an estimate of when the PS3 release would be for FFXIV. If they could do that then we would know that they have got the bugs fixed or plan to have them fixed by then & could thus get people to start playing so that they are not as far behind as the console players will be.

But then again they still have not decided if console's will be on separate servers from PC yet or not. ( this is so that they do not have to worry about any limitations for PC & are able to give them better stuff as needed if the consoles are unable to handle it)

I wish I had met Elizabeth Taylor too. But it makes no difference in my life. Having the directer of FFXI chat with us is probably just not his style and that seems fine with me so long as he is busy doing his job :D

Yeah 100% joking. nothing serious at all.

But I am sure that he does care about us just is a little more concerned & busy with the servers then writing a formal message to everyone. ^^

Not sure if it is still Hiromichi Tanaka or if we have the same one as FFXIV now which is Naoki Yoshida. I know that FFXIV got rid of Hiromichi Tanaka and some others after the failed launch to try & help correct the problems (he has his hands full).
