View Full Version : Are there any plans to reduce the prices of GEO indi spells?

Geo has always seemed kinda interesting and i have noticed recently it gets ask for in Delve shouts(unlike my current jobs).

But the price of the spells are beyond stupid. Gil doesnt grow on treants so i just don't have the sort of gil needed for this job.

Arise costs like 9 million gil. Utsusemi: Ni is 700k and Phalanx is a million more than that. Meteor has been coming down but appears to be around 1.5 million at its lowest.

What do your Geomancy spells cost?

What do your Geomancy spells cost?I forgot how SE directly controls what price players put things at, oh wait, they don't, unlike GEO spells.

indi paralysis, vex, frailty and wilt are around 500k
Malaise, gravity and fade are 600-700k
fira 2, blizzara 2, aerora2, stonera 2, watera 2 are 500k
thundara 2 is 700.

Those are the ones you buy from NPCs.

Think of it this way: the indi spells you buy... are priced for two. Seeing as how all the geo-spells you get are for free.
They are probably inherently expensive because of that.

... which I've heard can mostly drop out of skirmish as well. I've gotten Fira II, Blizzara II, and Indi-Gravity to drop in there. It stands to reason that the others would drop as well.

SE intends for us to do Skirmish to get the scrolls and fill in the holes at the npc.

my servers the ah prices for those spells went down big time a couple months back. unless they shot back up again most were at 100k-ish.

Simple.

For the amount of damage ra spells do is not worth the price they cost.

Have you looked at the auction house? On Carbuncle, Indi-Graviity sells for no more than 200k. Indi-Malaise is going 60-70k. Indi-fade is 300-400k. Indi-Frailty and Indi-Vex are a dirt cheap 10k. Indi-Paralysis you're probably stuck with the NPC bill. Indi-Wilt is 200k.

Blizzara II is 30k, Fira II is 100k, Aerora II you'll still need the NPC's 500k pricetag. Stonera II is 10k at most. Thundara II is 70k. Watera II is 10k.

This is on Carbuncle, and I have a hard time believing that it's gonna be vastly different on any other server.

So.... the prices have already been lowered . If I wanted to take my Geomancer from 50 to 99, I could get all the spells you listed for a grand total of 2,110,000 gil, which is less than the total cost of what I've spent on WHM or BLM or BRD. Geomancers really don't have it any worse than any other mage class, unless you go out of your way to make it harder.

Might I bring up the fact that if you look at a job like BLM, WHM, BRD, you are talking about all of their spells more than likely? I assume anyone talking about GEO also ignores their non-Indi spell cost. Also, Geo-spells are very boring, unlike other mages where you just run to the AH or some NPC & give them money for scrolls, GEO has a ton of running to do. I think these 2 things are left out of comments that say things like 'GEO is cheaper than BLM' and such, because there is a lot your leaving out in a way, and unlike BLM, WHM, or BRD, you have to travel to what is probably around 30 zones to get all of your spells.

The running feels like a chore if you burn the job up in a day and THEN go get the spells. They actually follow a decent progression if you level a bit more casually.

Regardless of whether you get them all at once or little by little, it's the same work. In fact it's probably even more work at lower levels due to possible aggro.

Also, there is nothing wrong with GEO being different from BLM, WHM, and BRD. The process of learning BLU spells is vastly different and much more annoying, yet I'm sure the player base has grudgingly accepted the process by now.

Some good points have been made in this thread already, namely that the total cost of all Indi spells is probably less than the cost of Arise and that many of the 12 expensive spells are reasonably priced on the AH. I'll add that you can easily get by without Gravity, Fade, Vex, Wilt, and the -ra spells if money is truly a concern.

While its true that Geomancers can farm their spells they cannot do so until level 70+ because all the lower level spells only come from npcs. I think that they should add some lower level spells, dices, and attachments to the old BCNM battles in order to make it easier and more affordable to purchase these items for adventures.
