Ok I get this when I try to log on the ffxiv forms:

So i really do not know what to do. I had a friend talk to me about some bata something or other to try it out. I bought the orginal game and it says 1.0 is no longer in service and install it.

so does this mean everything I did will not transfer over? and I have to buy a new game? I am really confused even after trying to find some answers.

Did you cancel your v1 account? You may need to reactivate it if you did. Just go to your SE account page and look at the status. If its cancelled try to reactivate, if you cannot reactivate you will need to call customer service.

If you can restart your old account everything should transfer unless it was one of the items that was deleted from the game (such as ammo, some synthing mats and what not) and 90% of your gil will be gone. Other than that all your lvls and what not should be intact. All of the info on what transfers you can find on the lodestone if you go back through all the posts.

Official launch is on the 27th so not that far away.

I would just call customer support and ask them whats going on.

If you have the Legacy logo and achieved Legacy status that means you paid for at least 3 months of service toward the end. So you may wanna ask them about that too

You may want to check the email account associated with your Square Enix account (don't forget to check spam/junk folder). If you have Legacy status (which it looks like you do) then you should have an email about the open beta. It will direct you to the download link and allow you to log in to the forums.

Is the new ffxiv gonna have a game disk? it looks like its all download? and I sent an email i am terribly confused with what they are doing.

I couldn't find an e-mail talking about a link to get back on the forums, anyone know what date it was supposed to be? like what month? anything would be helpful

In regards to your question about the game for sale, there were physical Collectors Edition PC and PS3 games, but those were produced in limited quantities and sold out. Right now the only thing you can pre-order is the standard edition PC or PS3, your choice of physical disc or digital download.

If you played 1.0, then you don't have to worry about re-buying the game, since you already bought it once (unless you want the bling that comes with the pre-order code or the collector's edition mounts). When the game goes live on the 27th, as an existing 1.0 player, you'll be able to download the new game for free. Also, if you have 1.0 installed, you can uninstall it, because this is a completely new client.

Everyone's character transferred over, and as long as you log into the beta or retail game with your existing account info, your character should be there. There HAVE been instances where the character is missing, but if this happens to you, you'll need to let them know.
