ok se you got august update out of way which was the update you said you couldn't get R/E/M fix into. now its time to follow through on what you said and stop making us wait. you already lost a large % of your player base due too the way this has been handled and you made us wait far to long for an issue that should have been addressed the second it came up, there are no more excuses you can use to put it off as this is the time you have stated you will sort it. I don't want too seem like I am demanding but more that 1 more R/E/M slap to me and my patience has ran out. info on the upgrade pls as soon as possible otherwise this time next month I stop paying you to ignore me and I know allot of peeps feel the same. don't mean to cry, more just to show that even though all this time gone by R/E/M holders still have this issue at front of there mind

Weapon Revamps
Sorry, I got off track for a bit, but now I'd like to return to the topic at hand.

To start off, I still need to discuss the implementation period with the rest of the development team, so it will be a bit difficult to address this immediately in the next version update, and we cannot make any promises as to when this will take place.

In regards to the kind of stats that will be added when we revamp these weapons, fundamentally the afterglow and aftermath effects as well as the other special stats will carry over and we'll be setting damage values, attack, and accuracy stats to coincide with the content level.

While the stats will be quite strong, we do not plan on making it possible to continuously enhance them in short intervals like the original method of enhancing via Trial of the Magians.

However, RME weapons have been considered the ultimate weapons up until this point in time, but I feel that this needs to change a bit.

I would like to make a shift so that instead of having it so that other weapons aren't necessary if you have RME weapons, you have a choice. If you are happy with RME, then you can use RME, and for those who want other weapons you can use other weapons.

With that said, there may be players who are worried if these weapons will eventually become unusable, but to give an example we had the lead make some calculations for the stats needed to combat the Delve boss monsters, and the below is what the RME swords would look like:

Excalibur
DMG: 73 Delay: 233 Attack+40 "Knights of Round" Additional effect: Damage varies with HP



DMG: 121 Delay: 233 Attack+60 Accuracy+20 "Knights of Round" Additional effect: Damage varies with HP

Burtgang

In regards to Walk of Echoes weapons, these were implemented with the concept of allowing players to use the specialized empyrean weapon skills, so instead of revamping them we felt it more appropriate to have them serve to unlock the weapons skills (planning to have restrictions based on jobs and level). Also, we are looking into adjustments for the method to create Walk of Echoes weapons.


PLEASE give them time to make this a worthwhile update rather than a shortsighted one that will screw a bunch of stuff up.

Let me follow up with a question for you, good sir, ma'am, uh... person... ummmmmmmm... moglified monstrosity?...

Please list every single REM, their stats now, and what their ultimate stats should be in the future, keeping in mind that they will be weapons that *can* be used instead of the new delve weapons, not a be-all-end-all weapon that makes delve weapons look like the REMs look like now (in some people's opinions).

Also, please show us how *you* would make it so that it is fair in getting the final weapon. What system would you use? How would you make it work? Are you going to make them all similar quests to upgrade? If so, how do you expect BLMs or RDMs to complete the same/similar task as WARs or PLDs?

There is a lot of stuff the needs to go on before they even announce what they're going to do... Imagine the outcry that SMNs would have now if they announced that Atomos and Cait Sith were going to be summonable avatars... oh wait, they did, and SMNs got pissed.

Pretty sure he did too, but I'm interested to see him fix the game because his post screams:

iv read all rem posts by dev team and since that post they have said lots of things like "were discussing the R/E/M issue" like 4 times. what im saying is its time to not give us ideas and give us there solution and stats so people can return to game or leave for good. I have no knowledge of programming or anything like that but do I need it to realise that R/E/M is a major issue and they had long long time now to come up with there solution. and yes the R/E/M posts do keep popping up because for allot of people this issue is a quit or stay issue. most R/E/M owners feel jaded about the issue

If you're quiting/staying based on the stats of a single piece of equipment, maybe this MMO isn't for you.
The new weapons are better than R/E/M anyways, go get one of those. :)

So what you're saying is that you want the final stats of what it will be... So they give you the stats, and then this happens again later when they up the endgame ilvl again... lather rinse repeat...

Let's look at Ranger R/E/M (which it says is your main job! Woooooo! I <3 ranger!).

I've been working on my relic and empy for a while now (I've sort of put mythic on the back because I like the bow, and I already have the weaponskill, and can't get into assault to solo them, etc... so w/e)

Relic Bow (99) Yoichinoyumi
DMG:126 Delay:524 Ranged Accuracy+40 Ranged Attack+30 "Namas Arrow"

So, at first glance, to "fix" the bows, we need them to be on par with the new echidna's bow (or +1).

Let's double the damage. But wait, shouldn't we add some archery skill too? how much is a good amount? +215? +220? Ok Done.

What ilvl will it be? ilvl 120? Highest in the game (atm?) ok, done.

Now add some dex to the Gandiva, and some Racc and Ratt to Yoichi?

How do you get from ilvl 99 to ilvl 120?

How do you balance these weapons out without making them cookie cutters of the new delve stuff? I'm pretty sure that that's what they're trying to figure out. I'm not expecting them to get it done OMG right now. I'd give them a bit of breathing room. EVERYONE is breathing down their necks right now. Be it rieves (too much hp, too little hp, too fast, too slow, too easy, leechers, etc...), REMs (popular NM now... so much so that I hope they introduce an NM called Remmy. OMG! It could be part of the REM upgrade path! Ridiculous Remmy. It can be a floating eye that spams sleepga II while having its minions attack you. Or berserk, they could add that spell. You can only attack, can't cast magic, etc... (like in FFXII). New strategies for all!), Not enough Low-man content, Too many things are soloable, delve is unfair, we want free mythics, the list goes on and on...

If you don't want to play until the situation is done, then take a break... Keep your eye out on stuff on the forums. Your character will still be here when you get back. (I took a 2 year break and came back, and all my stuff was still there!) It's not like you're going to want a weapon besides the REM you have when it gets to 120, so that would be a moot point. As for the equipment, if you feel like you'll be left behind, then keep playing.

I think they've heard so much about this that they moved it up, but learned from all their past mistakes of releasing info too early (like with summons for example) that they want to make sure it's perfect before they release it. Questions they need to ask include:

What is the ultimate weapon going to look like? (I'm sure they won't stop at ilvl 120, they'll go so much further and they'd want to plan for that)

How will they level up their weapon? (TotM? Trading items/old weapons/panamas? XP in appropriate zones? Some completely new way that no one can think of because it's too awesome?)
- How many steps will it take to get ilvl120/150/200/9999

How are we going to let these guys unlock their weaponskills if they want to do so?

What stats will they have?

Will it be too overpowered?

Will we add any additional effects?

I like the saying "Measure twice, cut once," and "Good things come to those who wait." Maybe, instead of rushing into this, because they know that people take pride in these weapons, and they want to do a good job, they're taking so long to plan it out to give you the uber weapon you always wanted your REM to be. Pressuring them to do an update tomorrow (I'm 95% sure you're not trying to do that...) will result in a substandard/broken weapon that will get even more people to quit.

TL;DR:

They're working on making your weapon awesome.

(PS. Devs, new "Legendary weapons" would be awesome... I mean, come on... That would be... legend... wait for it, AMAZING!)

iv been on this game 6 yrs and a year and a half of that iv bee making bravura 99, I have made a delve drk mnk and dnc all of which took about 2 days, I would not be so bothered about the R/E/M issue if it wasn't for the fact se has pushed us all to make these huge effort weapons for past 2 years its been the centre of the game, only to wait for most to finish and say hahaha cant believe you did that here have a weapon twice as good. as to bamph comments I do kind of agree that I don't know what there doing with the R/E/M and I hope that your right in terms of measure twice cut once, the reason im so jaded about the issue is they have had tons of time now to come up with a plan. I really don't care if they out date my gear or any weapons except for R/E/M as the game is about building your character through equipment and weapons. BUT!!! once someone has gone to the effort to make a weapon that is and has allways been the best weapons on the game its a real slap in the face to that person to push them into it then instantly outdate it, people put the effort in because they wanted a super weapon not a trophy weapon. im sure like u say there struggleing with the balancing of the R/E/M weapons but its easy, keep R/E/M on top, when they increase everything again increase R/E/M with it, even now R/E/M weapons take allot of work and still deserve to be on top

The point is people don't want to feel like years of work is wasted...If they do that to RME chances are they will continue to negate future hard work by players by continuously trumping gear in updates...The game no longer becomes worth playing...

I hope I'm right too, but I have a feeling (especially since that subject is one of the ones that has gotten the most feedback... For serious, as soon as there was an outcry about it, they addressed it pretty fast, and then addressed it again, and then gave a plan using 3 swords, etc...) that they are taking it seriously...

lol It makes me sadface because you have all these REMS and I'm barely onto the third stage of my relic and I've spent 2ish years building mine on my own... Must be nice to be so far ahead of the curve all you can think about is that your curve got busted.

I put allot of work into it, to the point I made another character so on days I had time I could do 2 dynamis runs. not that im saying that makes any diff, my point is that if it takes you 1 week to the worst I heard was 7yrs to make a mythic, if you put that effort in to make a top weapon you have done it to get one of the be all end all weapons. se should respect that they have made these weapons so tough to get because like me most thought once they had put an insane amount of there life into getting one of these weapons I would have a top 4 great axe for the rest of my time on this game. which is why its a stay/quit issue for so many people, I actually made a delve drk because out of principal I refuse to delve up my fav job war. its a bravura war and it will stay or die as a bravura war

How do you get [REM weapons] from ilvl 99 to ilvl 120?

Through an update of stats of the 99 versions like they did with the 2013-08-5 version update. It's the only way they can adjust both 99 and 99 Afterglow, because the non-glowing 99 can be stuck in a trial that might last years.
So it'll be free.

I think upscaled REM's will be around IL118-119, with the ultimate Adoulin weapons at 120 (which might be as difficult to obtain as REMs, though a mixture of content drops from delve bosses, skirmish bosses etc. (For example, you need to upgrade a skirmish weapon to +3, collect 100.000 RP, with each 20k stage requiring a special unlock item obtained from delve bosses)

If the next set of Delve mega bosses drop item level >119, then I'd want RME to be updated as late as possible to ensure that they are on par with the highest ilvl gear as possible. It would suck if they were quickly updated to current standards and then the game went up to ilvl 140 or something.
