Here's a wish list for new blue spells:
Aern- crystalline coccon, depuration
Gears rail cannon, rest oral
Chariot diffusion ray, homing missile
Pixie- Lethe/ zephyr arrow, summer breeze
Velkk- velkkan pygmahia
Cricket- natures meditation
Twitherym- slice and dice
Shinryu- mighty guard
For the wild keeper nms we should have a quest deal for their spells since it takes a lot to even get near them let alone as a blue. Add what you think SE needs to put down for new spells.

really awesome list, dragmagi! Glad you made a wishlist, as these make me somewhat excited with the future of ffxi. I'm really hoping for a more potent triumphant roar with a better duration as well as a couple UL spells to be able to diffuse or some that help with crowd control. Also, I think Ophannus had a good idea with a UL spell that works like entropy for dmg->mp convert. Finally, I would like to think with all of these amazing DD weapons and spells like meteor out now that it would not hurt to have spike flail. Probably wouldn't be as good as a sam ws anyhow...

mantids: praying posture (hopefully a 5min 15% attack acc matt macc buff, would give blue also a serious spell for diffusion other than haste)
craclaws: viscid spindrift (attack and matt down could be useful if se does not floor its macc make it like 15% on both and give it a good duration)
Monoceros: scintillant lance ( who doesn't want light saber the spell ^^ anyhow, strong light based nuke)
Marolith: metamorphic blast ( daka daka)
Iron giant: scapula beam (be kinda a blus version of impact be more for the stat down than the dmg it does)
Ultima: would like nuclear waste as a normal move and citadel as a UL spell( would be a nice hate reset spell)
slice and dice and rail-cannon(3 gear version) would also be nice spells to have

Ultima spell would be nice but we'd need a higher learning percentage to make it worth the time/ gil to farm. We also need a composure trait tossed into the pool and maybe more spell slots and blue points. We also need a more effective aspir type spell or at least she uncapping mp drain kiss and fixing magic hammer.

Definately. With all this gear giving us iLVL+20, BLU should get more points/slots to go with it. Make it an ammo slot if need be, or a trait on the swords.

I like this idea... though to be honest, I prefer equipping chakrams for pulling enemies. There are several times I am without pulling devices for my blu.

I'd like to see some more classic Blue Magic spells!
Mighty Guard - (God - Magical)
Grants Protect, Shell & Phalanx (would be useful for solo at least if you're not subbing rdm/whm/pld/sch)
Lv. 99, High MP Cost, Unbridled Learning only, Learned from Shinryu
Frog Song - (Beastmen - Magical)
Charms target and turns them into a toad, learned from Poroggos!
As for the SoA monsters...
Leafkin- Phototropic Wrath
An enchantment spell would be nice for a little bit of extra dps, and the mab boost always comes in handy. Having a MAB spell which is also in conjunction with another function is a lot more practical for us BLUs!
Chapuli- Nature's Meditation
If this spell granted regain it'd be really awesome. I think that a regain spell would be very fitting for blue mage.
Velkk- Velkkan Pygmachi
Additional Effect: Dispel, physical attack. Would be very useful indeed. Would only remove 1 buff if it proc'd though, else I fear it'd be too powerful.
Something new to set for Triple Attack, Auto-Refresh, Zanshin and Counter would always be welcomed, too. I can't actually think of any new job traits I'd want!

Mostly, I just want either more Set Points and spell slots or better spells that make up vital traits such as Dual Wield, Triple Attack, etc. I'd love to replace any one of Acrid Stream, Demoralizing Roar, and especially Mortal-godawful-Ray with an awesome utility spell.
Without something like that happening, though, I'm not sure how I'd make room for new spells. All signs point towards sword damage pulling even further ahead of spell damage as weapons with almost double the base damage of old ones only provide a ~20% increase to Blue Magic base damage. Disappointing, as I find actually casting offensive Blue Magic a lot more interesting than being a Sword-Monk.

Natures meditation basicly is pd . On the crickets it only lasts for the casting time but they can't be hurt during. If we get it it should be a duration spell kinda like how polar bulwark should been. On mighty guard in older ff games it was every good buff I could get at once, shinryus was high a high -DT regen, and 10ish regain. General it'll be like PD meets embrava. Forgot to add gravation crux from providence watcher for Aoe drain stat drain and DMG spikes.

Seeing as how we have so many AoE drains, I feel this idea for an UL spell would be a nice addition to blu. I know most of those drains we have we never set, unless for funs. Here's an idea though:
Since when we use an AoE drain usually mobs are sleepga'd around us, so how about with such a AoE UL drain spell we receive a compiled on Stoneskin for the combined amount damage took by the mobs. Not too useful in some areas, but perhaps useful in areas where there are a lot of mobs around, like Abyssea or Wildskeeper Reives.
Of course, they still need to fix blu's dmg/macc with these newer mobs before any of these new spells get added, imo. Our spell dmg sucks unless we luck out with an efflux or CA heavy strike/quadrastrike or use CA+Efflux quad/amorphic after a WS. Bleh!

Also, does anyone else remember them stating they were going to look into our spell durations more and definitely fix the duration on feather barrier?

Dear SE, please do not give us spells with bad durations. Anything less than 3 minutes usually becomes inefficient, except for cocoon/harden shell. Most of our buffs have poor durations. Feather barrier is the worst.
Please do not give us any duplicate spells like dark orb was to everyone's grudge, though both are decent I would have rather a single target light or blizzard elemental nuke instead.
Please refrain from giving us spells that you think are good but the playerbase think are bad. Mortal ray is an example.
Lastly, but most important, do not give us an amazing spell that does nothing the description says it does. An example is tourbillon or even barbed crescent. For if you make such a spell, we know they will be acknowledged yet never fixed.

I thought this as I usually wish for the same usually; however, I think if we had a decent regain spell to diffuse to a party then blu would be more accepted in parties.

Natures meditation would be such an awesome spell if it was a 3 or 5 minute 2 or 3 tp/tic spell. Diffusion would make sense and people may want us in parties more. I believe buff spells are the way to go in this next spell update.

I would love to agree with you, but I find myself spending ages casting buffs on myself before and during fights (which is dangerous). I would rather have better or combined buffs than more, lol. In terms of how Blue Mage seems to function these days, we seem to be more like enfeeblers than anything! Then again, Blue Mage is difficult to pigeon-hole but this seems to be what it's best at. (Stun, Plague, Sleep, TP reduction, Def Down, etc)
Some more unique enfeebles might be the way to go to make us really stand out. I think the reason people have always been a bit wary of Blue Mages is that they don't seem to have a specific role, so focusing on that enfeeblement element could make us more popular at least. They tried to make us DDs but it's harder to compete with DD specialist jobs nowadays.
So on that note, perhaps some spells like Lethe Arrows (Amnesia), Baleful Gaze (Petrify) or a curse spell would be interesting.
P.S. We could totally use an ability to increase buff duration. Like we have Chain Affinity, Burst Affinity, what about Fusion Affinity? Doubles duration of next enhancement spell cast. I would totally dig that.
