Due to my sister recently getting a paper cutting machine for scrap booking and my searching for simple papercrafts my little nephews could do I stumbled upon a program that turns 3D models into papercraft cutouts and then this happened:

He stands about 35 cm tall (stand included) and not including fixing up the 3D model took about 3 days and 20 sheets of card stock to assemble. His mask is magnetic so his hat and mask can be removed. Larger pictures can be found here (http://s233.photobucket.com/user/Zijder/library/Papercraft), and if you're crazy enough to want to make your own the files can be found here (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BymDGzfhIcdJSjdGQ19lbjc4OFE&usp=sharing).

There is one problem though, what's a puppetmaster without his puppet? If anyone knows how to get .mqo models (or any file type) for the automatons or how to get them to show up in Folye's model viewer it would be greatly appreciated. Right now all I can get is the harlequin model, but I would like to make all 4 with interchangeable heads.

Edit: Scroll down to see the puppet

How much would you sell one of those things for? In all seriousness you should consider selling those because I would buy one for like $100 dollars if you made me a Tarutaru Puppetmaster... I would finally be able to quit in peace because I would have something tangible that reminds me of Final Fantasy.

I could not in good conscience make something that would cause a fellow Fenrir puppetmaster to quit. But seriously I shudder to think what would happen to such a large and fragile piece during shipping (not to mention the cost).

Making the game model suitable for papercraft took quite a while, there's a lot of clipping that you don't see in game that has to be fixed, his face in particular had to be remade from scratch (twice ; ; ) because the game model was just too detailed. That being said the programs are free/cheap and that was my first try at modelling so anyone who is able to play a puppetmaster should be able to use them.

SE should make these and I'm willing to bribe Producer Akihiko Matsui with a puppetmaster of his own to make it happen!

For people wanting to see other FFXI papercraft check out this blog (http://kaizopapercraft.blogspot.ca/search/label/Final%20Fantasy%20XI), the guy made wearable AF hats, and has a nice nomad moogle among other things.

I just hope they add a diorama furniture then, so you can store and show all the statues without all the storage woes.

Here's a little Harl buddy for my puppetmaster. I never realized how big the puppets really are until now, I was expecting his head to be about the size of a ping pong ball but ended up the size of a bulb of garlic. Charlie here stands 23 cm high (base included), his legs and arms are reinforced with wire and his head is attached by a rare earth magnet.

Of course a kenkoken wielding PUP probably wouldn't be using a harlequin frame so I'll ask again if anyone knows how to extract the models for the other puppets. If not then I'll either have to model them from scratch or get SE to make Harl useful.

On to the pictures:
