Tonight after my linkshell events, a bunch of my friends all went to go fight Yumcax. 200+ people in zone, 4 hours and 50% through the fight we were all greeted with a message saying "Emergency maintenance in Yorcia Weald in an hour!" There was no way we were going to kill it in an hour. As soon as we all logged back in, there was no reive. We were all out a KI, and the bayld it cost to enter.
A lot of people called a GM, and only one person was graced with a response. They were told to refer to KB article 12645.
"Item Restoration
When an item is lost accidentally, there is a possibility to have it restored if a GM is contacted."
When the GM was questioned about this part of the article, "Also, if the item was lost to a programming error instead of an accident, we will restore the item without restrictions on the number of restorations requested. ", he responded by saying that doesn't apply because this is a key item. At that point the person gave up because it was clear he had no reasoning behind not reimbursing anyone.
This is the second time in the past few weeks that I've been disconnected from a Wildskeeper Reive for maintenance, only to be told 'Shit on' by GMs. I'm not asking for my bayld back or my KI back, but this is an issue that should be addressed. Myself and many others are completely turned off from participating in these now with how long it takes to get the entry items and how common emergency maintenances are because of buggy coding.

I don't know if it was server wide but our server (Sylph) was also hit with an emergency maintenance during a Hurkan battle @ 2:45AM PST through 3:00AM PST. Happened right out of the blue while I was in enroute to the Wildskeeper lair. That's a pretty harsh way for players to have their wildskeeper reive status revoked in such a manner. It does touch a good bit on how other past events like Divine Might, KS99s, Dynamis (pre-dynamis overhaul especially!) and Arch Fights were interrupted by unexpected maintenances. It can be really frustrating. Considering SE gives ample time for people to move out or log off when an emergency maintenance is issued...I know the code is really old today, but would there be anyway to feature an exit portal of some sort that activates in the event of an emergency where a player's entry item is restored upon using that exit?

We as a player base really do deserve some sort of compensation, there has been way to many bugs & patches these last couple weeks, some of them with very little notice. Many people are losing their Wildkeeper KIs thanks to it, which is not something that is quick & easy to obtain. There is no reason we should be made to simply deal with it, I have avoided these Reives all together since the update and I first heard reports of no drops, but with these maintenance warnings giving almost no time... the fact that I have seen no form of attempt by SE to say sorry to players in a meaningful way, I have to say I simply will not do them at this point until I can be assured there are absolutely no problems with them, and no maintenance will occur during my battle.

If Naakuals are treated as a serverwide event, have everyone focus on getting col rate up as high as possible, and make sure you pick a time that all three timezones can participate. If the fight lasts longer then 2 hours, you got too few people and too low col rate.
When I did Hurkan on Bismarck, we had Marjami Ravine at 65% colonization rate, and people had been shouting the start time (14:00 JST) all day. Killed it in 45 minutes with what must have been close to 500 people. Laggy as hell, radar was one big blue haze, despite the 35 visible character limit, but with so many PUPs, SMNs and BSTs it didn't matter much.

But I'll list out what happened on server:
10:00PM Eastern: Player shouts for Hurkan Gathering which will commence roughly @ 15:00 (JST)
11:00PM Eastern: Player continues to shout...
12:00PM Eastern: Player continues to shout...
1:00AM Eastern: Player gives last bit of shouts before heading out to Hurkan
2:00AM Eastern: Fight commences with a little over 150 People in the zone.
2:10AM Eastern: I'm enroute to Hurkan while all the reives were still down.
2:16AM Eastern: "From 23:45-0:00 (PDT) - We will be conducting Emergency Maintenance in the following areas: Yorcia Weald, Marjami Ravine, Morimar Basalt Fields, Ceizak Battleground, Forret de Hennetial. Please move to another area or log off...
2:30AM Eastern: I decided to warp back to Adoulin.
2:45AM Eastern: Maintenace Starts
3:01AM Eastern: Maintenance concludes and people log back in with Wildskeeper arena completely cleared out with folks losing their status.
3:02AM Eastern: GM call spammed.
This happened a few moments after a large group of japanese players engaged the Wildskeeper NM. Colonization rate at the time was 91%. Friend of mine who was inside the area said Hurkan's HP was chipped down to 89% when an emergency maintenance was issued to start in the next 30mins. Lost her KI and reive status.
The situation was optimal for the NM to be taken down in a timely manner. It's a bit harsh when maintenance interrupts this kind of effort with no reimbursement.
