View Full Version : Unannounced, you're indefinitely preventing log-ins during the repeat log-in campaign

It's taking a lot of restraint not to seem very angry or rude, but if you're going to prevent us from logging in for an indefinite, unannounced period of time during the repeat log-in campaign, you BETTER extend that campaign. And judging by the message in the POV, it's just a battlefield issue. How many zones in the game are affected, then, and why does the whole game need to be offline?

That won't give us back the most important thing unfortunately, time. SE can give us 200 days free play time due to this cockup, but what use is it to players who due to RL commitments can't use it?

more than likely to take away any drops people got. likely takes awile to run the logs, find the chars and then take the item. I have a sneaking suspicion it isn't set-up for a blanket removal, it has to be done case by case, like the 1-time drop restore GM thing.

Please like the original post so they may extend the campaign.

That's not going to get a response from SE Edyth, it's too reasonable, specific, and complex. The game servers down issue is more fundamental, which is, that it shouldn't have bloody happened in the first place. THAT'S the issue. If SE didn't employ donkey coders we wouldn't be in this mess. The reward, as in 'give the players a free I dunno 10 more fish per day for the next week' is just a palliative.

They extended double plans in Salvage for a simple error in explaining the event to us, and they gave us a free month of play to make up for a week of downtime after the tsunami, so they've shown class before when it comes to things like that.

I hope they do something more fundamental this time, this is what the fourth post-Adoulin emergency maintenance? Not quite in the same realm as those events. Really, it's time SE learned that rushed untested updates inevitably end up being broken.

Please don't say this update was rushed. I was dying for it to come out. Dashavatara Sash saved my favorite job in the game.

Obviously they are going to extend the campaign. Players wouldn't be able to get the chocobo masque +1 otherwise.

Also, I think reives are considered battlefields. If those capes were not intended as reive rewards, they probably shut down the servers, because those reives are integral to the whole expansion and can't be shut down. Ofcourse, that's assuming it's the capes. Maybe they got relics washing up on mog garden beaches...

Kristal that has salvage bans written all over it.

Well, some lucky shmucks probably logged in before maintenance, so it's not guaranteed, but they need to do it to save face.

Not really. Salvage bans only come into play when you are duping drops. Noticed on BG forums that someone mentioned getting the delve boss drops from wildskeeper reives, but unclear if they are joking.

Down time is stupid now, why do they just not disable zones like they have done in the past? what is the point of a test server, you'd think test server would decrease down time but lately its done sfa.

It's probably the omphalos bullet 2.0, the 25 ratt 5 store tp necklace, the damage taken- 3% prevents knock back cape, and the grip with 10 att and acc on it. Those sound like delve boss gear, since all the other naakuals drop 2 weapons, 2 armor, that resemble themselves, and those are accessories like delve bosses drop, that don't share the naming scheme.

Here's hoping it isn't so long because they're removing them from everyone who got them, 1 by 1, or we could be locked out for days.

Once again... why is there a test server?

To test monstrosity and chocobo racing. We couldn't put any actual content on it, then it wouldn't be a completely blind glitchy clusterfuck every update. It'd ruin the surprise.

It's hard to test alliance content by yourself, you know.
Not to mention they don't even bother with NA/EU feedback.

The test servers are empty because SE doesn't use them, not the other way around. For instance, none of this expansion was put in there. Wouldn't your next expansion, where nearly all the new content that needs testing, be a great thing to use a test server for?

I think the issue with SoA on the test server pre-launch has to do with the requirement for your main account to have the expansion registered. Dev Team probably would have happily put some stuff up but squeenix account side of things caused a roadblock.

Hi all I'm new to this game, I've been playing for about 3 weeks now (I think). I'm wondering what this log in campaign is about.. I've been on pretty much every day since it started and I managed to get on b4 the maintenance today. However I have no clue how it is I am collecting points or who I talk to in order to claim my reward. Can anyone explain this to me?

Unpaid testers are worth what you pay for them.

You're logging in, to receive points, toward goals that as a new player, you probably know nothing about. Basically, they're giving you either 4 free chances for one of the most sought pieces of gear ever created, or a silly warp head piece.

Though, unless you've achieved 99 or made some (good) friends, you'll end up having to sell those chances, or giving them away, or just getting the head piece.

Louispv: The repulse mantle is a bayld item. They said they wanted to do something bout the throwback moves and i guess that is all we were gonna get lol. But I think we cant have access to that until at least this next comin conquest update when the coalitions upgrade at the earliest. I dunno bout the other items you mentioned tho.

New items are now purchasable from Vesca at the Peacekeeper’s Coalition:
Forefront Cesti / Forefront Dagger / Forefront Blade / Forefront Claymore / Forefront Axe / Forefront Labrys / Forefront Scythe / Ichijintanto / Ichijinto / Forefront Wand / Forefront Staff / Forefront Scepter / Forefront Bow / Forefront Gun / Forefront Bowgun / Forefront Flute / Huactzin Shield / Forefront Animator / Convocaller / Repulse Mantle

They likely had to scour the entire game's drop tables to ensure there weren't any other anomalies. If one thing in that giant spreadsheet got transposed there's a decent chance something else may have as well.

I don't see why he can't just shove them in his mogsafe until he can use them...
Don't tell the newbie its stuff they can't use! (especially when it comes to getting 99 in this post-abyssea game)

On topic, I hope they'll extend the campaign at least one more day.
All the better if it's more than one.
