How do I claim the abyssea-related event gifts?

Tried looking for NPCs, Abyssea NPC, treasure chest in Jeuno, going in to see if stuff was automatic...nothing happened.

The event announcement also offers no info about it. Anyone knows how to claim the gifts?

As a guess, its automatic if you log in during the time period the event is going on, or an npc may be in place during the event. Key thing for now, is event doesn't start for about a month.
