I'm having issues with completing this mission. I last went through the dinner hall cutscene ( This was weeks ago too.. ) and I read on Wiki that I needed to talk with an NPC at the Pioneers building in Western Adoulin named Lavil. Ive done so and I'm not getting the prompt asking to assist with whatever mission it is I need to assist with. Anyone else going through this?

I was able to skip to the next part of the mission following the bgwiki guide and received a quest from Berghent near Big Bridge in Western Adoulin. I also got three more cut scenes following that but got stuck not getting a second scene from Masad at the Mummers' Coalition. Levil in the Pioneers' Coalition never mentioned anything about needing help to me so I don't know where to go from here either.

My main character got the cutscene from levil but my mule character didnt. Its probably fame related or theres a pre-requisite quest that you need to do.

I can't seem to get the new missions to start, either. Current theory going around is that it has to do with Coalition Assignments. I've done about 170 of them, though they've all been for the Couriers' Coalition, so if it involves having better than Petitioner rank for more than one Coalition (or even having done assignments for more than one Coalition), that may be the problem.

Fame-wise, I'm up to Rank 4 (..."You still haven't proven yourself in my eyes.") I've done every quest from the first update except A Shot in the Dark. Of the new quests, I did manage to do Flavors of Our Lives and Granddaddy Dearest. I've also explored my Mog Garden and done all of the tutorial quests there.

I'd really like some confirmation on what the requirements are.

I have level 5 fame in Adoulin. I only have Disciple rank in the Pioneer's coalition that I am aware of and for the Courier's it is rank of Petitioner. I made it to Arciela appears again months ago and when I went to go talk to Levil I wasn't given any thing to proceed on. All he says to me is "Maybe this is all in a day's work for you adventurers? I guess you've been lassoing Vana'diel's wildest afore the first bison drive."

I've done the quest Flavors of Our Lives, have completed all but 5 of the original quests (all of which are level 1 fame quests) at the time of me writing this. I have done a good majority of the new quests as well. I count 9 of the new quests I have left (some seem to be either waiting for conquest tally or I don't have a high enough fame level, or has requirements that I haven't figured out how to obtain such as the Library Member card to do Order Up)

Some insight would be fantastic as I have talked to people that are probably now done, but were at 2-6 yesterday. Doing coalition assignments hasn't been very high on my list of things to do, but am looking at getting the Courier's coalition at least to the rank of Disciple as well.

If ANYONE has any insight, clue the rest of us in... PLEASE!!

My mule has done roughly the same number of assignments as my mule, but has only done two or three quests. I'm guessing its a fame requirement.

If that's the case, then I think it's a safe assumption that there are certain quests that are required since people are reporting level four and level five fame but still not being able to flag the mission. After a ton of running around, I was able to raise my fame from level two to level three and same with my Pioneers' Coalition rank. I'm wondering if it's story-related quests like Scaredy-Cats, Raptor Rapture, etc that introduce important characters in the Adoulin story. I'm going to keep trying different quests and see if I can get the mission to flag.

I for the life of me can't figure out why this isn't triggering. A friend of mine is rank 3 as well, but in 3 different coalitions. I am only rank 3 in one of them. I have also done most if not all quests before the update and have done 2 of the new ones. Someone PLEASE tell yes exactly why this isn't working.

Then it comes down to sounding like a certain minimum amount of Imprimaturs need to have been used. Those of us that don't do coalition assignments that frequently might be the ones running into this problem. I hadn't spammed coalition assignments since needing to access mission 1-6.

Currently up to 179 imprimateurs used. My working theory is that it's 200.

I'm also still Contributor rank in the Couriers' Coalition despite all 179 of those imprimateurs being used on their assignments. I wonder if I have to use 20 post-update tags to get to Partner.

I don't know, I just did 15 more Imps yesterday, completed some quests one of which was Flowers for Svenja and then talked to Levin and somehow got the quest activated..

Its definitely not 200. I more or less stopped using imps after I got my dinner invite, and my character got the cutscene immediately.

My theory:

I used about 50 imps pre-update to get the dinner invite then stopped.

post-update, I used only about 30

fame rank: 3 (pre, and post update)

My theory was that to get the CS, it wasn't about how many imps you used but rather how many different types of coalition quests you'd done. He finnaly gave me the CS after completing at least 6 DIFFERENT missions (this would equal 1 for each coalition but I did 2 different ones for pioneer's and nothing for inventors)

I decided to give this a try today and now have completed six different assignments. I did one in every coalition except Peacekeepers' but I did two in Pioneers'. I was unable to receive the cutscene.

Have you by chance tried completing the quest "Flowers for Svenja", it might be a prerequisite as well as the quest "Flavors of Our Lives". It's just a theory though.

I completed these as well before getting the mission so it may very well be the case

The only new quest i've done is the vine climbing quest and I got the cutscene.

Still no CS. I have asked around to some LS mates who have gotten it and the only real difference between them and myself is that they have a higher rank in at least 2 other coalitions. So I am working on getting to at least rank 3 in Peacekeeper's and Pioneer's and see if that does anything. It's quite vexing though, all I want to do is the story and I can't even do that. :(

I've done both of those along with around 40 other quests. My fame is now rank three as is my Pioneers' rank and my Couriers' rank is two. After spending three days and most of my gil, I'm about ready to give up.

Sorry for double posting but I finally got it to flag. I kept going back to check to see if I could figure out what flagged it. After getting my Couriers' Coalition rank to 3, it didn't flag. I went out to do more quests and after completing both Don't Clam Up On Me Now and A Stone's Throw Away, it flagged. These were my 39th and 40th quests, but also my last survival skill besides the new "Climbing". So my theory is either a do a crapload of quests or acquire all the pre-update survival skills.

It almost sounds like you need at least 2 coalitions to be at rank 3; as I have done everything else.

Welp, it's not just fame alone, as I hit Fame 5 tonight and still can't get the CS. Given people's answers, I suspect it's some combination of fame and coalition ranks. I know some people who don't have more than one coalition at rank 3 who got it, but they do have a rank in more than one coalition. Rank/fame combo would explain why some people seem to be able to do it sooner than others.

At this point, the only quests I don't have done that I know are doable are A Shot in the Dark (active but unfinished), Flowers for Svenja (active but unfinished), Thorn in the Side (active but unfinished), One Good Turn (active but unfinished), Vegetable Vegetable Evolution (can't trigger even though I have Vegetable Vegetable Revolution done; maybe requires the missions to have advanced?), and Courtesy Crustacean (probably need to do more Mog Garden work).

Time to start ranking up, I guess.

Well he didn't give it to me until after I completed the quests. I checked after I raised my rank and got nothing. Maybe it's a combination then where you need ranks and quests or something. My advice for you would be to try and raise your ranks and see if that does anything. The thing that really aggravates me about this quest is there's pretty much no feedback so it's impossible to figure out what works and what doesn't. Brenton and Levil just keep giving you the same lines and never acknowledge your progress until you fulfill all the requirements. I'm used to things being kind of cryptic and hard to figure out in RPGs but it would be nice if they would at least give you a hint.

This is nonsense! As if it weren't hard enough finding people eligible to enter battlefields already, now they have to do a hundred quests too?

Ok I seem to have been able to trigger the cutscene and move past this mission. Here's what I did.

In response to this listing at BGWiki (http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Budding_Prospects), I spoke with NPCs Berghent and Masad prior to receiving this cutscene. Dunno if that was necessary, but I'm just telling you what happened.

I did almost no Adoulin quests. I have barely touched Adoulin. Finding my way constantly blocked by reives turned me off it. I think the only one I completed was the one that gives you Watercrafting or whatever it is you need to move around Hennetiel.

I spent 48 imprimaturs doing Gather: Rala Waterways delivering Bloodthread to the Inventor's Coalition. I don't THINK this is necessary. I just did it because I wanted to spend imprimaturs the easiest way possible and throwing money at the problem seemed like a good idea. But this is expensive, so I would avoid it.

After that and 2 more imprimaturs spent on Support: Ceizak Battlegrounds for the Courier's Coalition, I still couldn't get past the mission, "Life on the Frontier". So I just kept doing 3 imprimatur runs of Support: Ceizak Battlegrounds over and over until I got past Life on the Frontier" a few months ago and up to "Arciela Appears Again". Even after that I did an occasional run at Support: Ceizak just to rake in some bayld (I thought I might get that Trunkleaver Great Axe for my modestly geared Abyssea red-proc whore Warrior).

Yesterday I couldn't get past "Arciela Appears Again", so I wanted until after today's conquest tally. Still no luck. So I just kept doing more Support: Ceizak runs. I banged out a full 15 imprimaturs today, checked in with Levil, and he gave me a cutscene that started with him saying "I have something juicy for you". Double checked my mission log to make sure this was not a different quest, and I definitely moved on to chapter 2.

Meant to post this yesterday; I finally got my CS. I started by talking to Levil, thinking maybe my game had glitched and I needed to wait for the conquest tally, but still no luck there. I decided to do some quests instead of assignments cause there was only so many of those I could do before I completely lose interests and did 2. One I started by accident as I talked to the NPC and not the waypoint, but I finsihed that and went to talk to Levil again, nothing. I then try the Flowers for Svenja quest as I have seen a few people mention that it might be a prerequisite for the new missions. Sure enough once I finished that quest Levil gave me the mission CS.

Since my last post, I finished off One Good Turn, Courtesy Crustacean, Order Up, and Flowers for Svenja. Still no mission CS. I then burned 15 tags at the Pioneers' Coalition, checking in with Levil after each completed assignment, and after the 13th/14th/15th tag assignment was complete, he gave me the CS. So... I don't know. Seems like doing a full tag burn might have been it all along. I had done absolutely no Pioneers' Coalition assignments up until now, so I'm still just a Petitioner there (and everywhere else except the Couriers). I give up trying to make sense of this. ;p Hopefully the next set of missions will be less cryptic with their start conditions.

Also, I finally got Vegetable Vegetable Evolution, so I suspect being at a certain point in the missions is required in order to unlock it.

Now to get past that reive in Cirdas.
