Introduction to
"Seekers Of Adoulin"
So I've notice a lot of people saying they cannot get invites to Delve. And because this can be such a huge topic I'm only going to start it off simple and possibly add more later but the purpose of this post is to "Help" those trying to get in without having the proper equipment earn whats needed to help you advance.
Many people overlook Adoulin gear, and some people skip this part and try to dive straight into delve.
It is very important that people take the time to collect these sets FIRST BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ASKING FOR AN INVITE TO DELVE. These sets do make a noticeable difference.
At this point, you should have already completed the missions required to gain access to Seekers of Adoulin. I will be discussing about Adoulin equipment and Colonization Reives in this article.
Adoulin Equipment can be purchased at
Peacekeepers' Coalition Reward Bayld Vendor NPC
Location: Eastern Adoulin (F-7) Vesca
These gears can further be upgraded with Augments to give you extra MP.
Augmented with Coalition Grease purchased for 5,000 Bayld by Ugtoor and upgraded by Heemo-Weemo.
For starters lets examine the Orvail Set.
Seekers of Adoulin - Orvail set

Enhances "Fast Cast" effect
As a mage class this set has very high INT and MND also with high amounts of Magic Accuracy. I believe CHR is great for Bard. This set also has a nice amount of Defense. With max skills, Merits pumped into INT, I was able to land Gravity 1 on monsters in Adoulin.
Now lets examine the Thurandaut Set.
Seekers of Adoulin - Thurandaut Set
LV.99 MNK/THF/RNG/NIN/BLU/COR/PUP/DNC/RUN

Awesome defense, accuracy, haste, DEX and other beneficial stats such as Duel Wield. -PDT on feet is great as this will allow jobs such as RUN & BLU to wear Blood Cuisses for walk speed.
Now lets examine the Karieyh Set.
Seekers of Adoulin - Karieyh Set
LV. 99 WAR/PLD/DRK/BST/SAM/DRG

"Double Attack"+2%
Again another great set with nice defense, awesome attack, good accuracy, STR looking good with Haste. So these Gears are not bad at all.
With the Current Update, Reives are now easier to participate in, obtaining Bayld has been improved, with the current news that the cost of these sets are now lower than before.
New Update July 2013
The amount of bayld needed to receive the following pieces of equipment has been lowered:
Karieyh Morion / Karieyh Haubert / Karieyh Sollerets / Karieyh Brayettes / Karieyh Moufles
Thurandaut Chapeau / Thurandaut Tabard / Thurandaut Boots / Thurandaut Tights / Thurandaut Gloves
Orvail Corona / Orvail Robe / Orvail Souliers / Orvail Pants / Orvail Cuffs
Coalition Shield / Orvail Gloves / Vineslash Cesti / Coalition Dirk / Coalition Blade
Coalition Sword / Coalition Axe / Trunkcleaver / Fieldrazer Scythe / Coalition Lance / Kotekirigo
Kashiwadachi / Coalition Rod / Sortilevel Staff / Avitap Pole / Coalition Bow / Shadeshot Gun
By doing Pioneers Coalition in Western Adoulin
You can do the quest "Clear the way" using 3 tags each Colonization Reive. This will net you 1,800 Bayld.
(Don't forget to run back to the Coalition npc to obtain your reward and select another 3 tags for Clear the way.)
In order to deal damage to roots you need to have "Logging" Key item. To obtain this you must participate in atleast 1 Coalition Reives and then speak with the NPC Elmric in Ceizack battlegrounds K-7.
[B]Colonization Reives/Pioneer Coalition
Tip: When doing colonization reives, pay attention to the YELLOW messages. You will see a messages appear such as "Enhancing Support"
When that message appears, cast enhancing spells such as Haste on other people that way you earn a small bonus of Bayld during the fight.
Carry a nice -pdt set so you can survive better and also tank when you see the yellow message say "Damage Taken" which also applies to DD and any other job.
I also highly suggest doing Reives during a time where there are not too many people rushing to destroy the root as Bayld is meant to be earned over time.
With 15 Tags and the amount of Bayld you can earn during Colonization Reives, you should be able to earn enough Bayld to buy 2-3 pieces of gear in 1 day.
I had absolutely no problem getting invites as a WHM, RDM, SCH, BRD using the Orvail set and people shouldn't have a problem with you either as Plasm farming is NOT NM Boss farming which will require you to have other gears from AH, AF, and other content areas.

Earning Your Wages Lv. 99
Money Issue? Here let's see how we can fix that!
One of the the posts I saw earlier was that someone said they couldn't get invites to Delve because they didn't have the spell Arise.
And we all know that it's very hard to find good current Gil Farming Guides. So I will give you some tips on how to reach your goal and earn up to 5 mil in 1 day.
*Tested and proven more than once.*
Yes as in 5,000,000 Gil.
First off you need to be open minded and level the proper jobs. As the way this game functions, different jobs can most likely serve different purposes.
The 2 jobs you will need is Beastmaster and Thief.
Use online forums such as FFXIAH to look up the current items that are popular. As a Thief with max Treasure Hunter, you can farm the current quest item Blood Thread,. Which is used for coalition quests. Due to the respect of others I will not post locations but im sure you have the ability to look it up :)
Voidwatch in its current state, Morta for riftcinder and Qilin for Heavy Metal Pouches are currently rising in price.
Beastmaster
Ok here's where the fun begins. Beastmaster is the solo job that can net you tons of gil. Save all your seals? 99 Kindred Seal NM you can purchase 1 Themesis orb and do "Horns of War" to fight Chlevnik. This will drop "Beastly Shank" at 100% drop rate. Prices Vary on every server so I will not list any prices, the rest is for you to explore.
You can also convert all other seals and exchange those for Kindred Seals in Port Jeuno from the NPC Shami.
Limbus By taking Teleport Dem you can enter Apollyon NW and solo farm Ancient Beastcoins and Chips. Each run can net you about 50-60 Coins. And Magenta Chip at 100% drop rate which can either be sold or exchanged at the NPC that sells you detergent for 5 coins.
Dynamis Buburimu from 00:00 - 08:00 Birds, 08:00 - 16:00 Mandragora, 16:00 - 00:00 Scorpions on a decently geared BST you can net 150 currency, on a very well geared BST 250+ currency.
Pet: Falcorr
Subjob: Dancer
(These timed mobs are Job Ability Procs)
Now here is a good tip that people will not tell you. Before entering Dyna, it is wise to buy a pair of Sprint shoes from the past. Before entering Dyna use the Sprint shoes so you will have walk speed to help you find TE faster. If you happen to have a pair of Skadi boots, then both Sprint shoes buff and Skadi shoes will both stack. Time is very important and the faster you can move around the quicker you can start farming and earn more currency.
Also carry Silent Oils and Prism Powder. This prevents you from having to Jig every few seconds which could put you in danger if you are in the middle of mobs. It's also a huge time saver.
I also suggest carrying Food as it always makes a difference when you have extra stats to boost your damage.
Also carrying Vile Elixer+1 and Icarus wings can help you in emergency situations as Icarus wing can give you instant TP to help you Use Curing Waltz III.
Walk of the Echoes
You can play any job you like however WoE is the Playground for Summoners as all pet abilities such as Fleetwind AOE regardless of being in a party or not. Beastmaster can do well but has limitations due to Call Beast Recast Timer.
Several people may not know this, but after the recent update WoE has become a very profitable gold mine that is better than Limbus, Dyna, Salvage combined (Unless you are doing salvage II earning Linen Coin Purses)
On a side note, WoE is known to be party unfriendly so I highly suggest playing a job you can handle your own and not depend on others. If you decide to party in WoE, I also suggest being careful because if 1 person pulls more than they can handle, mobs will murder each and ever member one by one until the entire party wipes regardless of how far away you are and poses a risk to everyone else around you who are not in your party.
Several of the higher Flux such as 9/10/11/12/13/14/15 drop Liminal Residue and Devious Die Sachs which is the same as opening a Heavy Metal Pouch. Up to 20 can drop in 1 sach. With a decent team of 6-10 people you could spam some of these areas in about 20-30 minutes. So I'm sure you can do the math.
High rewards such as Flume Belt, Wind Buffet Belt, Acesor Choker come from WoE.
Some people believe in Luck, I believe in consistency, however don't give up if you didn't get something after the first 4-5 tries.
Note: You need to deal a certain amount of damage on enemies and bosses to Qualify for Max drops from Treasure Chest and if you want to earn high amounts of EXP. If you lost connection before Flux is cleared you will not be eligible to obtain any drops.
The reason I did not get into such extreme detail is because I am only trying to point you in the right direction. It's up to you to do the rest. These tips is more than enough to help you earn enough gil to purchase your needed gear and items such as Arise.

Introduction to Equipment Sets
Many new people today do not know the importance of having different types of gear sets. So I want to explain a few things on why it serves a great purpose in survival.
For Mage classes, there are way too many different types of sets you can use that it's very difficult to decide which ones to carry. From -PDT, MDEF, MAB, Fast Cast, Refresh, Conserve MP, MP recovery, Cure Potency, Cure Spell Casting, Enfeebling, Enhancing, and so on.
I will only give you 1 Example and then you can see how the other gears can play important roles.
Let's start off with -PDT Equipment. Which I highly believe every single job should carry this one set at all times.
For Red Mage, Blue Mage, there are many gears available for -PDT. However ALL mage classes can cap -PDT at 50%.
Terra's Staff (Physical Damage Taken -20%)
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100131204108/ffxi/images/1/1d/Terra%27s_Staff.png
Flume Belt (Physical Damage Taken -4%)
http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111011063004/ffxi/images/4/47/Flume_Belt_description.png
Umbra Cape (Physical Damage Taken -6%)
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100203195359/ffxi/images/d/d9/Umbra_Cape.png
Dark Ring X2 (Physical Damage -6% on each Ring)
http://static.ffxiah.com/images/ss/tn/jc4FeTDdSQFEBZ5H.jpg
Twilight Torque (Physical Damage Taken -5%)
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110107175705/ffxi/images/9/96/Twilight_Torque.png
Lefay Brias (Physical Damage Taken -4%)
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120823101418/ffxi/images/2/24/Lefay_Brais.png
This will bring you to a total of 51% -PDT although the cap is 50%.
With Protect V and Phalanx Buff plus Boost VIT and Stoneskin you can lower damage by a huge amount allowing you to survive during moments of agro.
NOTE: Using other slots with gear that has the highest DEF can also help.
There is also a Stoneskin set that can add more strength making the buff last longer by allowing you to absorb more damage before it wears off.
Sand Mantle (Petrification: Physical Damage Taken -20%)
In situations where a boss petrifies you, you can put this on with -Pdt gear to lower damage being delt to you. If you do not own enough -PDT gear to cap 50% then this can be a very cheap option available when fighting such enemies or bosses that Petrify you.
For WHM sometimes curing can cause too much Enmity turning mobs away from DD on to you, switching over to -PDT gear will not only allow you to lower the damage of the attack, but will allow you to survive in most cases, Use less MP for curing yourself to stay alive.
This also is great for DD in situations where there is only 1 Healer, Healer is low on MP, or Tanker dies and Some DD is left to tank mobs, therefore sacrificing some Damage dealing armor and using -PDT will help the entire party not only helping mages use less MP for cure but will also help the Tanker get back up and Unweaken. This can also help Mages recover MP better.
And... well... Bards in Delve Pulling monsters and using Lullaby.. I'm sure you can see why I said this is a set that I highly believe everyone should have at all times.

Merit Weapon Skills & Skill Up (DD Info)
For those of you planning on DDing in Delve and do not own any REM.
Lets be realistic here. Mobs are very high level in Delve. You must have your Skills Maxed regardless. This doesn't play much of an important role for mages however because when do see a mage DD other than Blue mage?
We all know Merit Weaponskills were adjusted so you could receive 73% on the first merit. Allowing players to merit more than just 3 Weaponskills so that you may have decent damage.
However "Decent" doesn't cut it.
Any and every serious DD needs to merit Weaponskill at max level 5 regardless. Especially if you plan to DD with no REM.
Equipment you will also need is Haste/Store TP/WS sets and a ton of Accuracy as I said before you need to hit mobs rather than miss. Also Belt/Gorget which Gorgets are quested items from Tavnazian Safehold "In the name of Science". You must have CoP missions completed up til SEA Access in order to be able to farm quest items for your Gorget.
Lets examine the Weaponskill Resolution
In order to gain access to any Merit Weaponskill you need to be level 96 and have skill level 357.
With the proper quest done allowing you to unlock Merit WS.
NOTE We will also take a moment to discuss the importance of WS equipment such as Belt/Gorget and Increase Weaponskill Damage.
Resolution WS Great sword
Description: Delivers a fivefold
This Weapon Skill's first hit fTP is duplicated for all additional hits.
Aligned with the Breeze Gorget, Thunder Gorget & Soil Gorget.
Skillchain Properties: Fragmentation/Scission
Modifiers: STR:86~100%, depending on merit points ugrades.
86%, 89.5%, 93%, 96.5%, 100%
Notice the Modifier is STR- therefore you need STR gear to increase the weaponskills damage. As for Belts and Gorget, several arguements have been made saying it does not matter whether you are using a combination of Thunder & Breeze, or Soil & Thunder & so on. As long as those elements align with the Weaponskill in question.
There are other gears available that can
"Increase Weaponskill Damage"
Imperial Kaman bow
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20061105022313/ffxi/images/1/1b/Imperial_Kaman.jpg
Mekira-oto

Athos Gloves
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120101021020/ffxi/images/c/cb/Athos%27s_Gloves.png
Of course you need a combination of STR, Attack, Accuracy, with Belt / Gorget to give you a certain overall outcome in damage based with buffs and food. But make sure you are following the weaponskills moderator.
Also know that the base dmg of the weapon you are equipping contributes to your Weaponskills damage as well.
Gorgets/Belt can make a huge difference depending on the ws and moderator and its very important to have these.
Every Elemental Gorget Has A Matching Belt

Weaponry Skill Up 101
Some people cannot afford HQ food but I will say if you are a damage freak HQ food can make a noticeable difference. In the case of Skillup food though, don't hold back on buying these as they are really that helpful in skilling up fast.
If some of you are having a hard time skilling up, you can do Gov tabs in Zeruhn mines in Bastok and hunt for Prousse Ring which drop from brown chest.
Prousse Ring
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110521173330/ffxi/images/a/a6/Prouesse_ring.png
[Ring] All Races
HP +10 MP +10

There are skill up foods in AH such as Saltena, Elshena and Montagna. Under Food/Bread & Rice.

Elshena
Skill rate 1.4x
Montagna
Skill rate 1.6x
Maringna

These foods can be expensive but with the gil guide I've included and the power of Atmas, Cruor Buffs and temp items from Abby, skilling up should be a breeze.

Brachyura Earring & Sheltered Ring
Hey guys I wanted to introduce to you these 2 pieces of gear and why one of the two can be good to carry with you at all times.
Brachyura Earring

[Ring] All Races
Adds "Regen" effect
Enhances effect of "Protect" and "Shell" spells cast on wearer
Lv.96 All Jobs
Before a mage in your group casts Protect & Shell equipping one of these items will allow you to receive extra Defence.
You can unequip after the spell has been casted. But lets take a closer look as how this is good.
Protectra +2 DEF
Protectra II +4 DEF
Protectra III +6 DEF
Protectra IV +8 DEF
Protectra V +10 DEF
Shellra -.4% MDT
Shellra II -.8% MDT
Shellra III -1.2% MDT
Shellra IV -1.6% MDT
Shellra V -2% MDT
This means if Protect V is casted on you, you will receive an additional +10 DEF added on top of the original spells given defense.
Terms: DEF = Defense MDT= Magic Damage Taken.
These stats will stay until the spell wears off regardless if you take off the Ring or Earring however you must be wearing one of the two before the spell is casted on you. Wearing both of these items at the same time does not stack to give you double stats.
Tip: Little details such as these can add up to making you more powerful in survival. So please do not overlook this.

Introduction to Magic Skill Up
One of the best spells to use for skilling up Enfeebling Magic is the spell Dia.
Barspells for Enhancing
Cure for Healing
Banish for Divine
Bio for Dark Magic
Bards can cycle through Therenody & Etudes
Cycling through different low tier spells for Elemental Magic
Anyways I will explain to you how you can level up enfeebling magic for our example.
First lets take a look at the available skillup food options.
Under Food/Bread & Rice
Stuffed Pitaru
Skill rate 1.2x
Poultry Pitaru
Skill rate 1.4x
Seafood Pitaru
Skill rate 1.6x
B.E.W. Pitaru
Skill rate 1.8x
More Info: http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Skill_Up_Foods
(Make sure you check which food is for Offense Magic and Non-Offense Magic)
While spamming Dia on mobs nonstop using skill up food according to the range level of each food, You can level up enfeebling magic pretty fast so please do not hold back on using these foods.
At higher skill levels 300+, spamming on bosses or highest level mobs seem to give you higher skill points. So I will give you the example of how you can survive and achieve this in Abyssea La Theine Plateau off the NM Megamaw Mikey.
First off Megamaw Mikey likes to cast Stone spells such as Stone V and Stonega III. In order to survive these spells you will need the following:
Atma of the Earth Wyrm: Earth Resist+: Superior (+100), Damage Taken-: Minor (+10%),
Atma of the Minikin Monstrosity: Intelligence+: Superior (+50),
Refresh+: Major (10MP/tick), Enmity -: Minor (+value)
Atma of the Vicissitude : Defense+:Major (+40), "Magic Def. Bonus":Minor (+value), "Regen":Major (15HP/tick).
Notice that these atmas give you Defense, Regen, Magic Defense Bonus and Resistance to Earth.
With Barstone, Shell V you should be able to lower the damage to a very extreme minimal. Keeping Stoneskin up also helps. There are also other gears such as Merman earring, Augmented Dark Rings from Gold Chests in Konschtat Highlands Abyssea, Slipor Sash and Magavan clogs available to give you additional Magic Defense Bonus.
Bards can also use Earth Carols.

Empyrean Weapon Trials
One of the most horrible parts of doing Emp trials is the NM camping phase. So I wanted to give you some tips on how you can achieve this without wasting your entire day. First off motivation comes from within and only you have the ability to reach your goals if you put your mind to it. So don't give up and be consistent with a little bit of time management you should be able to accomplish this.
Several of these Trials have NMs that take several hours to spawn. Some maps spawn the same NM in 2 areas of the map.
Tip: Notorious monsters have place holders. Usually 1 mob on the list.
I highly suggest subbing a job with "Wide Scan" as this will help you find them faster and save you time.
For Lottery Spawn NMs, here are a few suggestions.
1. Check the map to see if people are there farming the same trial as you.
2. Find out what time of day or morning the map is empty.
3. Know how long the NM takes to spawn. For example Gargantua takes 1-7 Hours.
Have you ever camped a spot where you killed 1 place holder and the NM popped 5 minutes later? Most likely the respawn timer of that NM passed without anyone farming lottery mobs during that period.
This is why I listed that you find out the time when the map is empty.
Kill the place holder for about 3-5 rounds, if the NM does not spawn, leave the map and come back later.
If you repeat this strategy during the day when the map is empty you can manage your time to doing other things than sit all day waiting for 1 NM to pop.
For NMs that take several hours, break it down. Say the NM can spawn up to 7 hours. You can kill the place holder a few times and if the NM does not spawn, come back 2 hours later and repeat this during the 7 hour phase. Again this works well during the time the map is empty.
This also is a good technique when doing multiple trials.
Check before you log out, you may get lucky and pop the trial NM if no one has been on the map farming several hours beforehand.
Voidwalker
For doing this part of the trial you are required to have color abbysite for T2 and a specific color for T3. In the case of T2 Color abbysite I would like to explain that you can pop the T2 VNM a few times but risk the chance of changing the abbysite into T3. Always make sure you are carrying a Clear abbysite T1 while doing T2. Once your T2 changes into T3, do not spawn the T3 VNM so you can work on changing your T1 Abbysite into a Color Abbysite. That way once your abbysite changes to T2 you can continue to spawn T2 VNMs as many times as you want until the trial ends.
For those of you working on T3 trials, the best way to accomplish this is to either buy T3 pops or request a group of LS friends to help you as T3 VNMs can only be spawned once with one T3 Abbysite.
Now that you have finished the VNM phase you now need to work on collecting items from NMs such as Sedna, Sobek, Briarius.
For you to pass these trials quickly you will need to lead your own parties as many players need these trial items, it's very difficult to find anyone willing to give them to you. Several of these trial NMs can attract many players as +2's, Atma, Gear and Zone Boss Wins can help you find members wanting to join quickly.
There are 3 approaches to doing these trials. You can either farm Key Items through NMs, some Key items can be farmed through Gold Chest, or you can shout in town asking players to sell you their KI's and pop it for you.
With the Gil Guide I've included in the earlier post, you should be able to make enough gil to buy Kis from players which will save you a huge amount of time so you can earn the trial items needed and be on your way to earning your new EMP Weapon.
One of my trials was collecting Kukulkan Fangs. I was able to collect 25 fangs in 1 day. So it's possible to breeze through these trials depending on your drive.
Important Note: Although many arguments are being made that Empyrean Weapons are a waste of time due to Delve. I highly encourage you to do them anyway. Having an extra weaponskill doesn't hurt to have. Maybe in the future "IF " SE decides to allow players to unlock the weaponskill, atleast you will be prepared to take advantage of the opportunity right away.
Tip: Now would be the best time to do them, since many players have lost interest in doing these trials. All maps may have less competition. Therefore making it easier to follow the above advice on managing your time to get them done.

Many people wonder why they can't find a party or cannot get a group together. Even several players sit in town all day shouting endlessly. For one, you are dealing with people who don't know each other.
Ever see those people on the street asking for money? Begging for help? Maybe someone is trying to sell you something? Most of the time people ignore the person and carry on. Had it been someone you actually knew, then thats a different story.
I'm going to give you some Networking tips to help you avoid being that person who needs help and can't find it.
First off you have tools in front of you, use them.
Linkshell, Friendslist, Search.
1. Add friends to your list every opportunity you get from EXP parties, VW events, LS Friends etc.
2. Offer to help others around you than be that guy always asking for help and never helping anyone in return.
3. Bargain with friends, You help me with this trial and I'll help you with your seal hunt.
4. Always keep your promises and never let anyone down. How many times someone said they would help but something came up and eventually never got back to you? (Either they were never seriously going to help you or their needs were more important than attending to you.)
5. Do free favors for your friends and LS mates
6. Reward people for helping you by doing something nice in return such as sending that person a stack of Meat mithkabobs or a stack of silent oils.
7. Stick around till everyone gets what they came for rather than leaving after getting what you wanted.
8. Don't leave your friends hanging
Now lets sum up these 8 points
When you need help with something, you now have many friends in your list because you've spent so much time in parties inviting several cool people. Since you've offered to help others around you people know how awesome you are and how you've helped them to get their things done. They know you are not the person whose always asking for help and are very grateful that you've done free favors for them such as helped them enter Salvage rather having them spend 100k asking a stranger. They were surprised when they found a stack of prism powder in their moghouse the very next day after helping you the night before and they noticed while a few people left after getting their items, you stuck around and stayed til they got theirs. They know you never leave them hanging so there is no reason to say "NO" when you needed a favor.
As for using search function, when you need a job, sometimes one of your friends or someone you partied with before a few times thats not on your friendslist could be somewhere on another map and didn't see your shout in town.
Also add people who have unique jobs that you know you might need when the time comes.
Instead of asking in LS for help, open the list and ask them in private. When you are asking in LS people don't feel obligated to answer you.
Sometimes when you can't find a Blu for your VW party, having lots of friends you've added can help or /Sea Blu and check the list. Knowing a lot of people helps in this situation. You'd be surprised at how many people will say yes when you ask them in private.
Tip: Once in a while it doesn't hurt to check your Friendslist and say Hi, what are you up to? Need any help?
Waiting for people to ask you to do something rather than taking the initiative to get people to do things with you can change once you've built a relationship with others on a more personal level than just hanging out with people for events and exp.
Always stay positive and never let anyone give you a reason to feel down. It's important to remember that your actions define who you are in game and some people tend to have snap judgments and be rude but there are also cultural differences that tend to give people the wrong impressions. However you should know that FFXI is a small world where we interact with each other on a daily basis.
Friendslist 101
So now you have friends on your list. Just when you thought inviting people was the tough part, here is where the real work begins and here's why.
1. Only having people on your Friendslist will get you nowhere. You need to start building a personal friendship with the people you've singled out and invited.
2. Just because you had a good time with that person once doesn't automatically mean you are best friends the moment they accepted your friends request.
3. Reason 1 & 2 should be a good enough to move on to the next part.
Here are some tips:
1.The best approach anyone can take when getting to know someone on your friendslist for the first time is to invite them to your events. Invite them often.
2. Never start off asking those you barely know if they can help you. Otherwise this will make you look like you only added them because you needed help.
3. Announce your parties as "events" and "not another one of those seal hunts again."
Example 1
"Hey buddy, I'm holding an event with some friends. We plan on taking out some bosses to help each other get some seals for AF3, thought you might be interested so I'm offering you a spot if you want in."
As oppose to..
Example 2
"Hey do you want to help me with my seal hunt? I can't find anybody lol. I need my AF3 boots done. Can you please help me?"
4. Encourage your friends to join and that you can help them progress.
"Hey Dave, If you need help with AF3, come party us, I'm sure we could help you get a few done tonight.
5. Invite your friends to other things such as Missions, Farming, Questing, EXP and not just for moments you need help.
6. When partying with others, this event is not about you anymore. You must base your attention on everyone invited. That includes making a change in your plans for the purpose of giving everyone an equal opportunity to be rewarded for putting in the same time as everyone else so no one feels unfair or left out.
FFXI is a small world where you interact with the same people everyday. What you do with your time and how you spend it with people falls in your hands.
Remember in this game most people have millions of things they need to get done too and many wont help you unless they know you've helped them.

Job Ability and Magic Strategy 101
The purpose of this post is for me to show you some basic strategies that some people overlook.
White Mage Flash
Severely reduces accuracy compared to Blind, the effect weakens over time until it wears off.
Normal mobs have the ability to resist Flash, although this is extremely rare.
Duration is subject to resists and partial-resists, though can last up to 12 seconds if completely unresisted.
Stacks with Blind.
Does not overwrite itself. If the target is already flashed it will fail to take effect.
Acquires a significant amount of Enmity.
Automatons with a Flashbulb equipped can use a non-magic version of Flash and, therefore, can not be reflected or absorbed by shadows.
This status effect cannot be removed by Blindna, but can be removed by Erase, Esuna or Healing Waltz.
Lets be real here, how many times have we seen the majority of WHM only use this spell during Voidwatch for Proc?
If you observe carefully it says "Severely Reduces Accuracy"
There are 2 main purposes for using this spell. When Ninja needs to recast Utsusemi and when a monster is about to use TP Skill. Why? Because not only does it blind, but it also severely reduces accuracy therefore could possibly make the monster miss. Although enmity is high, today DD deals massive amounts of damage with WS, so WHM should not gain hate as easily as before when the spell first came out.
Thief Collaborator
Steals one quarter of the target party member's enmity and redirects it to the thief.
Obtained: Thief Level 65
Recast Time: 1:00
Duration: Instant
Distance: 12.6
So we all know this is highly used on mages to steal enmity right? But there are other purposes for this. Say you are fighting Kukulkan and the NM has Petrifying Eyes up, your tanker is now frozen and cannot move until someone can make the NM turn away. Thief on the other side of the NM with back facing boss can use Collaborator to steal enmity from the tanker making NM turn away so your tanker can unfreeze. This works well for Terrorize also.
Red Mage Spontaneity
Reduces casting time for the next magic spell the target casts.
Obtained: Red Mage Level 95
Recast Time: 10:00
Duration: 1:00
This is one of the best survival spells Redmage has. For one, if you are a Nuker build and your Aquaveil wore off, using this with Aquaviel can instant cast the spell so you won't constantly be interrupted from being hit. This works great for Stoneskin and Raise. Instant raise the most important jobs in your alliance say tanker or WHM.
Rune Fencer Ward: Liement
Absorbs elemental damage. The types of elemental damage absorbed depend on the runes you harbor.
Obtained: Rune Fencer Level 85
Recast Time: 3:00
Duration: 0:10
One of the best abilities Rune Fencer has. When a monster is casting a very strong Magic Spell such as Blizzard 5, quickly using this before the spell is casted will turn the Magic Damage being delt into HP healing you. Great in situations where your HP is very low and lack the ability to Cure Yourself.
The reason I pointed this out, each job has special abilities that people don't look into close enough, I've pointed out how important it is to know your abilities and spells to the fullest and sometimes looking at the description helps.

Old Nyzul Climb/Mythic Base Weapon
So we know you can receive up to 4 Tags. NPC can only hold 3 so you will need to carry 1 at all times to achieve having 4 tags total. Unless you have completed all assault missions NPC can hold 1 additional tag.
NPC Rytaal located in Aht Urhgan Whitegate at (K-9) after receiving your tag speak with NPC Sorrowful Sage at (L-9) to activate the Nyzul Isle Investigation mission under view missions list. Do not activate Nyzul Uncharted area as this is Neo Nyzul.
Read over my Networking tips as this is a very good example as to why it helps. To achieve floor 100 I would suggest asking friends in LS or on your Friendslist who can static with you.
Set a day and time out of the week where all of you can gather and do this. You'd be surprised at how many people are willing. Not only are there people who need the climbs, but also there are people willing to run with you for the tokens.
(Note: The following day after your Static Run, go grab 1 tag at the time it replenishes so the NPC can hold 3 by the time your next gathering is scheduled leaving you with 4 total.)
Tips: While doing a static party people tend to forget the time and sometimes day you are meeting up. It is wise not to commit to anything 1 hour prior to the event. Remind each other throughout the week and 2 hours before the event send a message letting each know that you are gathering.
These days 3 people can defeat 96-100 easily. However in earlier floors due to having Lamp Objective where it can require up to more people to achieve, it might be wise to have more than 3 in your party.
For those of you who have no idea on how to do Nyzul. Again there are players out there willing to do the run for Tokens and many of those already know how Nyzul works.
When entering Nyzul, you want to keep 1 person at the Rune Transfer at every floor (Most likely Scholar) to save time from having everyone running to find it after completing objective. This saves you time.
The only annoying part of the climb is Lamp Objectives.
Also for floors that have "Do not be discovered by gears" using range attack from far away claiming them before they see you can help you avoid being penalyzed.
When climbing floors you need to becareful when exiting. As floor climbs are written onto your disc by 5's, if you are trying to achieve past 10 floors per tag, pay attention to how much time you have.
Unlocking a Mythic Quest
Once you reach floor 100, by that time all of you should have obtained your Mythic base weapon, however for those of you who haven't, do not worry there is an easy way to get it :)
You will need to be the leader entering everyone in at floor 96 playing the job of the Mythic Base Weapon you want to acquire. So if you need Beastmaster Mythic Base Weapon, you need to be on BST. At floor 100 Mythic base weapon of the job and person who entered everyone in is 100% drop.
After obtaining your base weapon you can do the Quest to unlock your Mythic Weaponskill. Some weaponskills can be useful such as White Mage Mystic Boon.
Below is the chart of how many weaponskill points are needed. You can do this in Abby and with all other weaponskill quests, doing level 3 skillchains can help you earn points faster. You must be the person starting the skillchain first to receive points.

After completing floor 100 you only need 250 weaponskill points. The NPC who offers the quest is located in Lower Jeuno.
NPC Zalsuhm.
Type: NPC
Location: Lower Jeuno (H-9) *Inside Muckvix's Junk Shop*
There is also an NPC who can store your Mythic base weapons however you should only store them before or after working on unlocking the weaponskill.
It costs 1 Imperial Bronze Piece to store 1 Weapon.
Ghanraam
Type: NPC
Location: Aht Urhgan Whitegate (K-10) Upper floor

Popular Jobs For Hire
One thing that I've noticed over several years throughout FFXI is that SE likes to shift the favor torward certain jobs be it a new expansion or an adjustment made to discontinue the popularity of the job in question. We've seen everyone jump on WHM back in the day when Hexastrike could be spammed nonstop for its instant TP recovery after using the WS until the Nerf.
Lately we saw many people jump on to Scholar before Embrava was nerfed. So History does prove that SE offers temporary power to certain jobs and as Geomancer and Rune is on its way to development there is a possibility that these jobs will be popular too.
And well RDM & PLD is now getting back into the game again.
So this is my point on SE shifting favor over to certain jobs for certain content.
Now here is the advice I am sharing with all of you who refuse to play other jobs. You really need to be open minded and level as many jobs as possible. Then you will be busy with so much stuff that gives you a better reason to fill your time. Instead of sitting in town all day let down that you can't get the one thing on your accomplishment list done.
At end game content let me ask you this? Would you rather not participate in shout groups if you dont have the job people are asking for?
Earlier I mentioned that I have 13 jobs at level 99 which I've achieved over the course of 6 months returning less than a year ago. That includes half of the jobs are either well geared or decently geared. Most of the time I see shouts in town asking for jobs I don't want to play however I have them in case I feel like I need to earn plasm or other items from events.
It's good that you build yourself to be versatile in options.
How many times have you seen someone ask for Blue mage in town when people shout for VW? Personally it's not one of my favorite jobs but atleast I have it so I can use in Abbysea procs and VW events.
And the fact that I can "Participate" overcomes the obstacle of being left out.
Sometimes my day consists of skilling up Bard, Geomancer, Magian trials for WHM, BLM, RDM, some days I farm, other days I VW, sometimes ill do Salvage and Einherjar. There are many things in this game to keep you busy.
So I encourage all of you to rethink about this.

Bazaar & Marketing 101
Ok so everyone knows that you can sell items in Bazaar however these points I'm going to explain will not only help you but in return teach you how to be respectful to others when it comes to selling. I know Respect is a very hard thing to come by these days but please do not take this with a grain of salt as your actions effects everyone else in game. And effects the entire economy in the long run.
How?
Well let's say 1 Byne Bill sells for 7k and you just shouted in town 5k. People who do not even know how much it's worth will assume they can buy it for 5k now and you've just lowered the value on that item by 2k leading to players refusing to pay 7k when they think its worth 5k instead.
Not only is that greed, that is very selfish to those who took the time to farm the same items only for you to lower the price so you can get rid of your stock faster.
Moving right along...
First off becareful when looking through people's Bazaars. Scams do happen. Some people try to list a few items from Dynamis such as 100 Byne Bill and try to confuse you with 1 Byne Bill.
Example
M. Silverpiece 600,000
L. Jadeshell 600,000
1 Byne Bill 600,000
Did you notice that 1 Byne Bill is not 100 Byne bill?
Also players in town desperate for gil endlessly shouting a lower price than everyone who put those same items in Bazaar for higher than you. This is how the economy drops the price on the items you are discounting and everyone suffers from this. Shouting in town is only promoting a new value.
Tip: Shout to others the items you are selling and your location without revealing any prices. If people want the item you are selling such as Heavy Metal Plate, people without a doubt will definately look in your bazaar.
Now let me explain some points on why your items didn't sell.
1. Not everyone may need what you have to offer at the moment.
2. Area you are selling lacks customers.
3. Your Prices are the same as everyone else.
4. Your items are not reasonably priced or higher than everyone else.
5. Your items are not meant for selling in Bazaar.
What many people do not realize. Items such as Dynamis Currency or Alexandrite may not sell instantly all because people might not be working on that trial at the moment. Or people who are working on that trial may not even be online.
There's also a time when people log out and put up bazaar in town. Take for example JP players will play till Midnight or a little over midnight and then park their characters before bed.
Here is the best respectful approach you can follow that not only works but helps the economy and those around you trying to sell the same items.
1. If your items are not selling, discreetly lower the price and wait. Several people in town like to look through others and compare prices. If yours is lower than the rest, I guarantee they will come back to yours and buy it.
2. Add people to your Friendslist or write that persons name down that you notice is purchasing your items. For example if someone bought 25 HMP from you, most likely that person is working on their level 99 EMP trial. Message them and ask, offer to be willing to sell them more if you get them.
3. Sometimes moving to a different part of town can make a difference.
4. Sometimes selling at certain times of the day or week such as the weekend can help you get rid of your stock.
Just like the world today, not every store is going to sell out the moment they put things on the shelf.
Tip: When you discreetly lower the price of items, players will talk to each other in LS to let them know they saw you selling at a very good discount. And some customers will even come back to you everyday to check and see if you are selling the same items they need.

Farming & Auction House 101
Farming Basics 101
When farming items, check first the value of that item in Auction house as prices can change at any given moment.
I've noticed so many people hooked on only farming 1 item thinking they are going to get rich quick. For the obvious, making this a competition is what you are doing with the others. So lets try to take this at a different approach.
Here are some tips:
1. Make a list of different types of items to farm.
2. Respect others who are farming at the same camp as you. It doesn't make sense if you are rounding up mobs and FC killing them. Especially if you are playing a job without Treasure Hunter.
3. If the camp is small, check to see who is there and ask them how long they will be farming at that spot before you decide to crash and take over. Other players need to farm too and it doesn't help if the camp is small.
4. If its an area where lower levels are exping, please have respect for them. Don't ruin the exp spot because you are 99 with power. Example: Outer Horutoto Ruins.
5. Treasure Hunter matters and can cut the time in half so either sub it, bring one with you or level it. There is also a TH sash you can find in Gold Chests in La Theine Plateau Abby. I believe there is also an atma if you are farming in Abyssea as well.
Auction House Basics 101
Auction house has the same approach as Bazaar when it comes to selling. I want to point out some useful tips on how you can sell things better. Also again how you can respect others who are trying to sell the same items you are.
Important Reminder: Before you sell your item. Check the NPC to see how much the item is worth. You'd be surprised at how many careless people put up items that sell more at NPC.
Scrolls for example. So many times I've bought several scrolls and earned 2k+ because careless people didn't check the value from NPC.
1. Put up different types of items and not the same one.
2. Lower the price by a small amount of gil.
Example
Red Curry Bun +1 sells 250,000k
You could put 249,951 gil or 249,551 gil.
If you lower the price by 5k or 10k just because you think you are still making 240k, again have respect for others who took the time to either buy, farm or hunt the needed materials and craft it so that you have the ability to buy them when needed.
3. Raise the price of the item you are selling when no one has the item you have up for Auction.
Pro Tip: Some items that are rare listed in AH can give you the perfect opportunity to net you extra gil and do some good in the community by raising the value of an item.
Say you have a Flume belt and the selling price for the last 2-3 previous sellers appeared as:
Example [Flume Belt]
10/10/13 Ultimas -> John 2,400,000G
10/11/13 Ultimas -> Jane 2,500,000G.
Noticing the date shows that this item sells once per day. If no one has a belt up for auction. You could raise the price up to 2,600,000G. And patiently wait. Someone who really wants this item will buy it. This will not only help you earn gil, you will also help the economy go up so others can make a higher profit too.
Observing Price History
Tip: Always check the date of items sold. This will tell you if the item is in demand or not selling well.
4. Change the items you are selling, not everyone is going to buy Boyada Moss and quest raise for fame 24/7.
5. Check the dates of when others sold their items. It will tell you how popular the item is.
6. Check online sites like http://FFXIAH.com to see what items are current.
7. Don't put more than 2-3 stacks of the same item, that way you are respecting others who need to sell theirs too.
If you are a crafter, you should craft different items too and not just 1. You have a much higher chance of making gil faster if you put up multiple items rather than the same one.
This also includes everything else, farming just 1 item will only bring competition and then eventually you will be fighting by lowering the price degrading the value which will lead to everyone suffering because of your greed.
Greed and Competition over 1 item between sellers not only results in lowering the value of the item. You discourage other people from farming it. Especially crafters and this can result in people not providing the items you and others need anymore.

Introduction to Leadership
This topic is very important and I do hope you all read this one.
Playing the role of a leader is like being a Boss or Manager. You are the person in charge and what you do matters as everyone who has joined your event or party will pay respect to you running the show. It is an absolute privilege to have that power. And it's a skill you must have in order to advance quickly to get things you need done faster.
I know some of you might say "I'm not good at leading parties" or "I'm not the leadership type" therefore I "Can't".
Well this is why I'm going to take the time to advise you on how "YOU CAN" be a good leader.
Now leadership is an experience developed over time. And no leader started out perfect. As the saying goes "Practice makes perfect"
1. A leader must be educated and knowledgable on many things. You must know the event, the jobs needed, and the strategy to accomplish that goal. You must know every detail about each job or atleast have a decent understanding so when that DD asks you should I use SATA off the main tanker and hold off on using Collaborator in case the mob petrifies the DD? Or should I save it for the mages instead? When do you want me to use Feint?
2. You must be open minded when dealing with other people. Some players may not agree with you on your decisions, some may think they know better than you. Some players might go to extremes insisting their way is the right way.
3. Patience is very important. Some people are slower than others. Some people can be lazy, some can be rude, some people can lack skills than others.
4. You need to be firm, and confident in your decisions. Otherwise people can lose faith in your leadership.
Or disrespect you and try to take over your role.
5. You must have good communication skills. Don't ignore the people you are inviting to your event. Respond to tells as fast as possible and if you are tied up, announce it in party to give you some time in responding to those who are messaging you. Communicate with your Alliance Leaders.
6. Time management is very important. You need to be prepared in knowing how you can get the event going quickly before people start to bail on you.
7. Be modest, fair, and considerate to those in your group. Especially when it comes to item distribution because if you don't do this right, word will get around and then no one will ever join your groups.
8. A leader needs to know how to solve problems, not ignore them. Have a few different plans in case the one you had in mind doesn't work out.
Now here are some tips
1. Before you start the event, read up on the jobs you are inviting, glance at the spells or abilities they have to help you make use to some of the strategies you plan on doing.
2. Read carefully over the bosses you are going to fight, figure out how you can defeat it, what's needed to avoid certain death.
3. Examine which jobs are hard to find and get those people first before you start shouting. This will save you and the other people in your alliance from waiting all day.
4. Give people hope and thanks for being patient. Communicate with everyone by saying "Guys I really appreciate your patience, i apologize for keeping you waiting."
5. If you can't find a job, compromise, ask people in party or LS if anyone has that job you have a hard time finding. Say you need a BLU and there is a WHM who can change jobs. Since its easy to find a WHM problem solved. Or search towns, maps, abbysea, and message people by offering them an invite that you already have 17 people.
6. Be persuasive, shout that "We only need 1 last person to join then we can roll!"
Sometimes you need to add what items people can earn in your shout message or how much gil people can get out of this event. Roleplay with someone in shout if you have to. Player#1 A few hours ago I made 2mil off HMP from Qilin." Player #2 "That's sad, I made 3 mil.. My numbers beats yours." Remember a whole team is waiting on you so do whatever it takes to get people to join. Even if you have to throw in a "Small White Lie." Just don't go overboard.
7. Have proper care for your entire team. Ever notice a leader wait at the door to help walk players to the destination? Or waits at the very end to make sure everyone got back to their home point?
8. Do not rush to kick someone out of your party without giving them a few fair warnings and speak with them about what you need them to do in the group. Sometimes situations can happen such as VW groups where everyone wipes out and your SCH is busy trying to raise people and keep players alive while in Light Arts rather switching over to Dark arts and proc which is something Black Mages could have covered.
There are so many other points I could include but learn this first and I will add on to it later. Remember practice makes perfect. Not all of us knew how to lead good groups from the start.
In the end you need to educate yourself on many aspects. Don't let anyone embarrass you for not knowing what you should have already been prepared for to begin with.
A Good Leader is a Knowledgeable, Wise, Openminded person who is Honest, Fair, Well-Spoken and Well-Mannered, Firm and Confident in making Decisions, is Considerate of the entire team and Listens well to others.

Traveling Tools and Survival Items
Here are some of the basic items you should be carrying with you at all times.
To be a better player is to be a well prepared player that is self independent and does not rely on others to do simple things that you can do yourself.
1. Warp scroll/Cudgel (If you do not have enough Conquest points to buy these, do know you can receive a free scroll per vana day from the Moogle who gave you the Mog Sachtel quest. Just talk to him and quickly exit the conversation to obtain one. Also having Warp Cudgel can help. These are sold in AH or in peoples bazaar. I always carry a warp cudgel in case i forget to bring a scroll with me always sitting in my mog sach.
2. Sprint shoes, can be bought in the past with Allied Notes. If you do not have enough allied notes then i suggest you do one of the quick quest to earn you some. In each nation you can do the quest "Street Sweeper" by roaming around town and finding the "Suspicious Object" which can net you about 500+ allied notes. How many times did people have to wait on you because you walked too slow? This can also sometimes stack with other walk speed items that are not Enhancing type.
3. Food, dont follow other players habit or listen to those saying "Food" is not needed. Sure it may NOT be needed to those who are not serious about their characters. However I cant stress this more than I already have in several of the other parts of the guide. Food is there for a reason. Its still in AH for a reason. You want more Accuracy, STR, HP, MP, INT, DEX, AGI, ATTK, DEF? Then use it, don't ignore it and don't be lazy either because its not that hard to earn enough gil to buy these. Especially if I already gave you a way to earn up to 5mil in 1 day in the gil guide above.
4. Remedy, Echo drops, Eye Drops. Well now Remedy is one of the best items you can use to remove Blind, Disease, Paralyze, Silence all in one. You can buy these in Upper Jeuno from the NPC Leillaine G-9 or in Aht Urhgan Whitegate from NPC Gavrie F-8. Otherwise if you want a cheaper option you can buy echo drops, eye drops which maybe cheaper but consumes more inventory space.
5. Silent Oils, Prism Powder. You should not have to wait on any mages to cast this spell on you in fast pace events, especially where time is limited, and in places where people are trying to get move from one camp to the next quickly. Also you should be carrying these in situations such as Dyna, Salvage, Nyzul Isle or Neo Nyzul as these save you several seconds from waiting on mages to cast the spell and waiting for the recast timer of the spell to cast again.
6. Reraise Earring or Reraise Scroll, You should be carrying this at all times in case you die. Id hate it to see anyone in Dyna lose their opportunity to farm items because they didnt have Reraise up.
7. Ninja Tools, For those of you playing Ninja, dont waste good inventory space on buying every tool, there are all-in-one items available for casting certain skills to help you save space such as Inoshishinofuda for all elemental, Shikanofuda for Self-Enhancing, and Chonofuda for Foe-Enfeebling.
Other items are optional such as Icarus Wing, Vile Elixer, STR potion etc. These can help you so don't overlook them. Imagine you just died, and your subjob is dancer... rather than sit a few minutes to gain HP risking death again, you could pop an Icarus wing to give you instant TP so you can Curing Waltz yourself.
Again don't be a lazy player, be an independent one who is well prepared at all times.

Level 70-75 Era Weaponskill Quests
So you might be wondering why i'm posting this topic right? These weaponskills are old and ancient history right? Damage sucks yeah? Which ones again? Evisceration, Black Halo, Savage Blade.....?
True... I wont deny that, but not all of them suck.. I mean Evisceration can be good....
But then we already have better WS such as Merit WS, Mythic WS, Emp, Relic so why are we talking about this again??
Yes oldschool weaponskills are kinda outdated i admit that, but you need them regardless and here is why.
If you plan on breezing through Unlocking a Mythic Weapon skill or any other trial that requires you to do a level 3 skillchain or can help you finish the trial faster by doing a level 3 skillchain, then this is the main purpose of having these old weaponskills. Most of the time its best to party with a Samurai because they can Skillchain very fast.
A Level 3 Skillchain is creating a sequence of 2 weaponskills in a certain order within a certain time window to perform either Darkness or Light. Usually its best to wait 3 seconds after the first WS before using the 2nd WS.
Remember its important for you to close the weaponskill in order to gain your bonus points.
Lets take a look at Evisceration
Dagger weapon skill
Skill level: 230
In order to obtain Evisceration, the quest Cloak and Dagger must be completed.
Delivers a fivefold attack. Chance of critical hit varies with TP.
Will stack with Sneak Attack.
Aligned with the Shadow Gorget, Soil Gorget & Light Gorget.
Aligned with the Shadow Belt, Soil Belt & Light Belt.
Properties
Element: None
Skillchain Properties: Gravitation/Transfixion
Modifiers: DEX:30%
Damage Multipliers by TP::
100%TP 200%TP 300%TP
1.00 1.00 1.00
Critical Hit Rate by TP:
100%TP 200%TP 300%TP
Now lets look at Samurai Tachi: Gekko
Great Katana weapon skill
Skill Level: 225
Description: Silences target. Damage varies with TP.
Silence effect duration is 60 seconds when unresisted.
Will stack with Sneak Attack.
Tachi: Gekko has a high attack bonus of +100%. [1]
Aligned with the Aqua Gorget & Snow Gorget.
Aligned with the Aqua Belt & Snow Belt.
Properties
Element: None
Skillchain Properties: Distortion/Reverberation
Modifiers: STR:75%
Damage Multipliers by TP:
100%TP 200%TP 300%TP
1.5625 1.875 2.50
Now lets look at Level 3 Skillchains Chart
Level 3 Skillchains
Fusion ←→ Fragmentation = Light
Gravitation ←→ Distortion = Darkness
Do you see this chart? Notice how it says in order to make Darkness you need Gravitation and Distortion?
Well Evisceration is Gravitation and Tachi: Gekko is Distortion, therefore this creates Darkness.
Points method for doing Skillchains
Points Method
1 Landing a Weapon Skill
2 Closing a Level 1 Skillchain (one element)
3 Closing a Level 2 Skillchain (two elements)
5 Closing a Level 3 Skillchain (four elements)
When doing a level 3 Skillchain you are gaining 5 points each.
Now lets examine the Evisceration Trial Cloak and Dagger. (This quest is activated in Kahzam by talking to Jakoh Wahcondalo at J-9. In order to do this quest your dagger skill must be Level 71+ and have your skill level 230+.)
You will recieve the dagger of trials which has a latent effect on it and stats on the dagger itself, Pay absolutely no attention to the stats on the dagger. When you equip it, you will see the stats added to Elemental Stats in your equipment menu (you know the place where you put your gear on?). The only way to tell if you have completed this is when those Elemental Stats (Earth, Ice, Thunder..) disappear so you need to pay close attention and check it before you start the quest. Open your Equipment menu and Test it out by equipping it first and the unequip it so you can see the stat change. Then when the time comes you will know how to tell when the trial is finished.
Did you noticed how i made Elemental Stats bold twice?
Each job has one of these trial weaponskills so look up the information on Wiki, find out what they are and do them. I guarantee this will help you on your journey.
If you dont know what skillchains to do, First off you need to party with a job, then look online and find a Skillchain Calculator. You will be able to add the 2 jobs and weapon in and calculate to see what weaponskills you can do. http://magitekarmy.com/skillchain.php
As for Atmas in Abyssea. You might want to try using these...
Atma of the Voracious Violet
STR+:Superior (+50),
"Double Attack"+:Major (+10%),
"Regain":Major (2TP/~3sec)
Atma of the Sea Daughter
Regain+: Superior (5TP/tick), Slow+: Superior (+13.3%), Regen+: Superior (30HP/tick Regen during Daytime)
Atma of the Stronghold
Attack+:Major (+40), Defense+:Major (+40), "Regen":Major (15HP/tick)
I suggest having Haste gear capped at 25%. Meaning try to wear gear with Haste +% on it til you reach 25% for those who dont know what im talking about. (Yeah there are still people out there who have no idea what a gear set is but thats ok, thats why you are here to learn.)
The reason i suggested these 3 is because VV and SD are both Regain Atmas. The 3rd one is Defense, Attack and Regen and during the day your regen will be better when SD kicks in. And because SD gives you 13.3% slow, thats why i suggested you have 25% worth of Haste gear.
Other wise you can use Haste atma with 2 Regain Atmas. But then you are sacrificing Defense and Regen. And SD Regen only works during the day.
Atma of Omnipotent
DEX+: Superior (+50), Haste+: Superior (+10%Gear Haste), Enmity+: Minor (+value)
Honestly i dont know what your build will be so whatever works for you, do it. Im only suggesting these atmas so you can keep up TP Regain with Samurai if you party with one and do level 3 skillchains.

Craftsman for Hire & Abjurations
There are so many crafters in game that have skills well above 100+. So I want to elaborate on why you need to find a good crafting friend.
There are many gears that can be augmented through Synergy (the little furnace tanks you see on the side of town?), from Einherjar, Sky, Legion, and so on...
What is augment?
Definition: Augmented items are pieces of equipment that have had their base statistics modified.
Synergy is how you augment things. How this works is you need to have the gear item, and materials used for the process of augments so usually its a type of tatter or scraps such as:
Aquarian Tatter
Earthen Tatter
Neptunal Tatter
Dryadic Tatter
Wyrmal Tatter
Molt Scraps
Genbu Scraps
Byakko Scraps
Suzaku Scraps
Seiryu Scraps
Unwanted abjurations you intend to throw away or Seals from Sky can make these. So instead of tossing them, get someone to create tatter and scraps for you.
Note: These items can be bought in Bazaar.
So we know what Augments are and that Synergy can do them right? k next...
Abjurations
I like to call them license, which is needed to unlock cursed gears. You can obtain these through VW, Providence Watcher, Legion, Sky, HNM, KSNM etc...
The NPC Alphollon C Meriard in Northern San d'Oria (L-6), in the Manuscript Room inside Cathedral will uncurse your items. You need to have the Abjuration and the cursed gear for this. Trade it to the NPC and thats it.
There are so many awesome pieces out there such as Aquarian Abjuration: Body which is used for unlocking Cursed Dalmatica.
Now i will say this. If you are planning to unlock a cursed item, I highly suggest saving up the gil to buy the HQ version. Some of these gears can be hard to obtain be it that the Abjuration you wanted was hard to get or that no Cursed item in AH or No history ever existed of an HQ version in AH so once you find that piece, its a treasure that will stay with you for a long time. Augmented gears are valuable as stats can vary based on luck and not everyone will have the same augments.
Most of the time you will be shouting in town buying these cursed gears if its an item thats rare like Cursed Dalmatica -1. Once again use my networking guide as this is another perfect example how useful it is to know people in game.
OK back to Hiring a Crafter / Synergist unless you already have these skills capped and know how to do it yourself.
Here are some tips to follow when dealing with Crafters and Synergists:
Just like in the real world you go to the Taylor and ask them to fix something for you. It's not free nor should it be.
NOTE: The price examples i write here are ONLY EXAMPLES, as i know every server has totally different rates.
1. Shout in town asking for the type of craftsman you need. Don't offer prices, just ask how much they charge.
(Again for the respect of other crafters, you dont know how much they will charge and offering your price might offend people who charge more. And if you are really cheap, they wont even bother talking to you. And remember this you are asking people to do something for you at Level 99, not level 30.)
2. Ask how much they charge in private and then if they ask you to offer a price, start off low like 100k depending on the item and how many items you want them to try and augment for you, and seriously, be modest. If you are asking someone to Synergize a Cursed Dalmatica-1 which is HQ version, then obviously people are not stupid. If you have millions of gil to buy that, then don't be cheap. Offer 250k-300k+ if you plan to do more than 50 tatters. Remember the person crafting for you has other things to do also and that persons time is just as valuable as anyone else's.
3. Even if your craftsman offers to do it free. You need to try your best to pay them either in gil or some other method. Because accepting a free favor will mean they may not do you favors later when you need them. Unless if its someone you know very well. Atleast paying someone for a service means you can hire that person on a more reliable level than a person who did it for free.
4. Add that person to your friends list and try to find more than 1 crafter in case the person you rely on doesn't log on.
Craftsman
Now that we found a crafter, how does this actually work? You and the crafter now have to stand in front of the furnace. You will activate the furnace then trade your Gear + item (Tatter or Scrap) Then hit go.
Your Synergist will now start working on your item, While he is doing that select the furnace again and have the option to End menu already up so when your Synergist gives you the Cue, You end it.
If the message appear Smooth Synergized that means it was a successful HQ Augment. So when the item pops up to show you the stats, you have 2 choices. Either take the gear with new stats or Keep the existing ones.
If the stats are good take it, then keep trying till you get the highest or best stats from the previous ones. You can gain up to 3 HQ stats on 1 item so don't give up
Lets take a look at 1 gear example:
Byakko's Haidate
DEF:42 DEX+15 Thunder+50 Haste+5%
Possible Augments
Store TP 1- 5
Critical Hit Damage 1%- 4%
VIT 1- 6
MND 1- 6
AGI 1- 6
That means there is a possibility you could get Store TP +5, Critical Hit Damage +4% and AGI +6 on just this one pair of pants. With the existing Stats of DEF:42 DEX+15 Thunder+50 and Haste+5%.
Hope this helps! BTW Momotani on Phoenix Server is the one who maxed upgraded my Dalmatica+1 and is one of the best synergist I know in-game! Thanks Momo!!!

Daily Schedule & Achieving Goals
Many players tend to waste so much time doing absolutely nothing. Just sitting in town all day "Waiting" for something to happen. I want to give you some good advice on this topic so you can train yourself to manage your time ingame and progress.
You have to set your own goals and achieve them yourself because no one is going to do them for you.
1. Create a list of things you need to work on. Things like farming, Magian Trials, Emp, Dynamis, Salvage, Assault, Einherjar etc.
2. Organize everything you intend to do and try to be on point by following it.
3. Study the goals you are trying to accomplish in advance and not last minute.
4. Figure out which goals can be done solo and which ones require help that way it's easier for you to separate the easy goals from the ones that take more time..
5. Time management is also very important. If you feel you are spending way too much time on 1 goal and having bad luck, simply stop what you are doing and come back to it later. That way you do not fall behind on the other goals you have scheduled or stress yourself out trying to get that one goal done.
Know the details of the things you want to achieve based on its limitations so you can figure out the easiest way to schedule those goals or come up with a back up plan if you have extra time in the day to do it.
We know that you can enter Dynamis before and after JP Midnight.
Also if you didn't have time to do Salvage you can still purchase Key item before JP Midnight and then do 2 runs later.
Magian Trial Moogle gave you "Magian Specs" that allow you to check the weather on the map for the next 3 days.
Limbus once a day from the time you last bought detergent.
Assault from the last time you grabbed tag.
Knowing details such as these fall into place when you are organizing your schedule.
By doing this, you should be busy progressing on a daily basis many of the things you need or want to get done rather than "waiting" in town all day trying to figure out how to make the time go by quicker.
Events like VW can be something extra that you can throw in once in awhile in between your schedule if you see a shout that interests you. Say you did Dynamis at 11AM-1PM and went to town after it ends. Your next goal is set for 5pm while 1:30PM is your lunch break. That means if you finish eating around 2:30PM you have 2 hours and 30 minutes free and might want to join that QilinX6 before your next goal schedule.
Example
MON Assault, Salvage II, Limbus
TUE Dynamis Xarc, Delve, Sky
WED CoP, WoE, Meebles
THURS LS Event / Helping LS mates
FRI Assault, Salvage II, Limbus
SAT Magian Staff, Sobek spam, Legion
SUN LS Event / Helping LS mates, Nyzul Isle
This is one of the most important traits you need to have if you want to reach "End Game" quickly.
There are so many things to do in this game, only you have the ability to get them done. Don't wait in town all day for random events. Work on your goals that help you progress and obtain those gears needed for your end game sets. Once you start to build and execute that schedule, you will soon adjust to the habit of getting things done faster, progressing and eliminating goals off your list.

Quick Level to 99 PART I
Today in the current state of FFXI, having many different jobs is a must. In order to get around the game effectively, you will need to need to dedicate as much time leveling everything you can in order to solo, make gil, particpate in many events and more.
By having many jobs, this will enable you to be the "Jack of many trades."
The purpose of this guide is to help advise you on how you can effectively level up as quick as possible. I will also include details on basic tips to help you avoid obstacles to save you time.
Basic Equipment
First off here is the most important tip. You must buy basic "Starter" equipment and save these for every job. Since you will be leveling multiple jobs taking the time to collect basic low level sets will help you save massive amounts of time.
Several people may tell you that it's not needed. And while it may very well be so, I'm advising you to have them for a greater purpose. To save you overall time so you can level the fastest way possible.
HQ Equipment - Armor
One of the great things in earlier levels is that HQ gear can show you a noticeable difference in power. Once you see this, your point of view may change on gear entirely.
Because you will be using these sets on more than 1 job, I highly suggest buying all HQ pieces including HQ weapons.
Im going to show you the difference between NQ & HQ.
Normal Quality Version
Lvl. 1 DEF 4 Bronze Harness
Lvl. 1 DEF 1 Bronze Mittens
Lvl. 1 DEF 2 Bronze Cap
Lvl. 1 DEF 3 Bronze Subligar
Lvl. 1 DEF 1 Bronze Legging
[Total Defense 11 NQ Version]
High Quality Version
Lvl. 1 DEF 5 Bronze Harness +1
Lvl. 1 DEF 2 Bronze Mittens +1
Lvl. 1 DEF 3 Bronze Cap +1
Lvl. 1 DEF 4 Bronze Subligar +1
Lvl. 1 DEF 2 Bronze Leggings +1
[Total Defense 16 HQ Version]
Point: This shows you that HQ version will give +5 more defense than NQ version.
WHM Spell Protect
Spell cost: 9 MP
Spell element: Light
Target: Any, PC or allied NPC.
Magic skill: Enhancing
Increases target's Defense by 15.
So by combining Protect with each armor set what is better?
HQ Version 16 + 15 = 31 Defense
NQ Version 11 + 15 = 26 Defense
Now if you wanted more defense. You could use food for an additional amount.
Boiled Crayfish
Defense +30% (Cap is +25 Defense @ 83 base Defense)
This food is for anyone Under 90 Base Defense.
Conclusion
The Reason why it's best to use HQ version gear for leveling is for less overall downtime, less curing, less resting, more fighting on a consistent level. You will be able to breeze through levels without wasting any time.
Bronze Harness Set will carry you over on all of these jobs.
WAR/MNK/RDM/THF/PLD/DRK/BRD/SAM/NIN/DRG/BLU/COR/DNC/RUN
Just buying this 1 set will cover you on 14 jobs saving you money and time from looking through auction house every time you want to switch over and level a new job.

Quick Level to 99 Part II
*Experiance Points Bonus Options*
In order for you to gain extra experience points, don't forget to carry an Emperor band.
But also here is 1 more tip.
If you have the job Corsair Unlocked, you can level this to 5 and learn Corsair Roll.
Corsair Roll
Increases the amount of experience points earned by party members within area of effect.
Description
Optimal Job: Corsair
Lucky Number: 5
Unlucky Number: 9
Using this as a subjob past level 10 solo will help you level quickly.
Level 1-10
Before leveling make sure you have Signet Up, Food, Emperor Band and all other necessities.
Outside of your Home Nation, Use the "Field Manual" to do GoV AKA Grounds of Valor tabs. By selecting pages will list a group of monsters that will give you EXP & Gil upon completing requirement.
Now here is the part I'm going to explain strategy.
We know that Experiance Points will begin to decline as your level increases and surpasses the level range of the mobs you are fighting.. Therefore people who are use to seeing those high numbers will assume moving on to higher level mobs will give you better exp.
However, at higher level , monsters become harder and "take more time to defeat."
Tip:While doing Gov Tabs, as long as monster check as easy prey, you will always qualify for exp however once monster checks as Too Weak, credit will not be given for EXP or GoV requirement.
Pro Strategy Tip
Instead of moving up to higher level exp mobs, once exp starts to go down, stick with fighting the lower levels instead because you can kill these easier opposed to spending more time killing higher level ones.
Example
If you gained 150 EXP from 1 Crawler.
And you gained 95 EXP from 1 Mandragora.
Observe factors such as "Over the course of time" and pace.
So if it took 1 minute to kill X1 Crawler but also took you 1 minute to kill X3 Mandragoras.
That means killing X3 Mandragoras will give you 285 EXP as oppose to 150 EXP from fighting X1 Crawler. Therefore lower EXP mobs can sometimes prove to be easier and better in the long run.
Fighting something that's higher level may give you more EXP but because its harder and has more HP "over the course of time" may prove to be slower than fighting something slightly weaker and lower in experiance points.
[NOTE, This Article I am covering is very Extensive and will continue the rest later]
To be continued.... Still Under Developement.

Support Job 101
In this article I will be showing you the benefits of using subjobs. We will also be taking a closer look as to why these subjobs can help you accomplish certain goals.
Selbina
Start NPC: Isacio
Location: Selbina (G-10)
Level Requirement 18+
Quest Name: Elder Memories
WALKTHROUGH
Talk to Isacio at G-10 and accept the quest.
Trade him a Damselfly Worm, a Magicked Skull, and a Crab Apron one at a time.
He will reward you with the ability to equip a Support Job though you must zone before the moogles nearby will allow you to do so.
Valkurm Dunes
Damselfly Worm drops off Damselfly.
Crab Apron drops off Snipper.
Magick Skull drops off Ghoul. (During 20:00 - 4:00)
Tip: Magick Skulls can be hunted in Gusgen Mines or Maze of Shakarami at any time of the day or night where as Valkurm Dunes is limited to night time only and much more difficult to find being that the map is huge and quite extensive to explore unless you are hunting with a job who has Widescan ability.
Mhaura
Start NPC: Vera
Location: Mhaura (G-10)
Level Requirement 18+
Quest Name: The Old Lady
WALKTHROUGH
Talk to Vera and accept the quest.
Trade a Wild Rabbit Tail, a cup of Dhalmel Saliva, and a Bloody Robe to her one at a time.
She will reward you with the ability to equip a Support Job though you must zone before the moogles nearby will allow you to do so.
Buburimu Peninsula
Wild Rabbit Tail drops off Might Rarab.
Cup of Dhalmel Saliva drops off Bull Dhalmel.
Bloody Robe drops off Bogy. (During 20:00 - 4:00)
Tip:Bogy can also be hunted in Gusgen Mines at any time of the day or night where as Buburimu Peninsula is limited to night time only and much more difficult to find being that the map is huge and quite extensive to explore unless you are hunting with a job who has Widescan ability.
SUPPORT JOB BENEFITS
DANCER
Dancer is the the best subjob for soloing. All abilities require the use of TP which can allow you to move forward consistantly without having to rest.
SAMBAS
Drain Samba is available at level 5 and can help you solo much more effeciently than any WHM due to no down time from resting MP. TP Required 10%.
Aspir Samba is available at level 25. Inflicts the next target you strike with Aspir daze, allowing all those engaged in battle with it to drain its MP. TP Required 10%.
Haste Samba is available at level 45. Inflicts the next target you strike with Haste daze, increasing the attack speed of all those engaged in battle with it. TP required 35%.
WALTZES
Curing Waltz is available at level 15 allowing you to cure about 69~94HP. TP Required 20%.
Divine Waltz is available at level 25. This ability functions similar to the spell Curaga. TP Required 40%.
Curing Waltz II is available at level 30. This ability can cure about 170HP. TP Required: 35%.
Healing Waltz This ability is equivalent to the WHM spell Erase and can remove debuffs such as Blind, Curse, Disease, Paralyze, Poison, Silence, Plague. TP Required: 20%.
Curing Waltz III is available at level 45. This ability can Cure about 360HP. TP Required: 50%.
JIGS
Spectral Jig Allows you to evade enemies by making you undetectable by sight and sound. Gives you Sneak + Invisible for a few seconds. TP Required 0%. (NOTE: When recasting make sure both Sneak and Invisible is off before reusing Jig otherwise the ability will not work if Sneak is up)
STEPS These are used to give you finishing Moves which will accumulate up to 5 points allowing you to utilize Flourishes.
Quickstep available at level 20. Lowers target's evasion. If successful, set as your support job, you will only earn one Finishing Moves. TP Required 20%.
Boxstep
Lowers target's defense. If successful, set as your support job, you will only earn one Finishing Move. TP Required: 10%.
Stutter Step Applies Weakened Daze. Lowers the targets magic resistance. If successful, set as your support job, you will only earn one Finishing Move. TP Required: 10%.
FLOURISHES
Animated Flourish Provokes the target. Requires at least one, but uses two Finishing Moves. Finishing Moves Required: 1-2
Violent Flourish Stuns target with a low rate of success. Requires one Finishing Move.
Reverse Flourish Converts remaining finishing moves into TP. Requires at least one Finishing Move. Finishing Moves Required: 1-5
Violent Flourish Stuns target with a low rate of success. Requires one Finishing Move. Finishing Moves Required: 1
Summary: Dancer can use Spectral Jig freely saving you gil from buying Silent Oils & Prism Powder but at a risk being that this ability does not stick long. Therefore I highly suggest keeping a stack of each at all times in case a situation happens where you are exploring an area with high amounts of mobs that better suits you to use meds than jig or an event where time is of value. With the ability to Cure yourself, using Animated Flourish for Provoke can help you claim mobs quickly at the arrival of competition between another player. Violent Flourish is great for stunning as Haste Samba is one of the greater abilities popular among using Dancer as a support job.

Introduction to Elements 101
Today I'm going to be covering Elements 101 to help you see how this system works and why having a basic knowledge of this can help you understand the game better.

Now lets take a closer look at some Black Mage Enfeebling DoT Spells.
What are DoT Spells?
DoT also known as "Damage Over Time" is a spell or ability that deals generally small amounts of damage over a period of time to the affected target.
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Damage_Over_Time
In the Black Mage Spell Line Burn, Frost, Choke, Rasp, Shock, and Drown. We will only go over 3 spells for our example.
Burn / [Fire Melts Ice]

Magic Skill VS Element 101
In this article we will be taking a closer look at Magic Skill VS Element. We know magic skill is defined in categories such as Enfeebling, Enhancing, Healing, Divine, Enhancing etc. Spells that show the Element however is based on Fire, Ice, Earth, Wind, Water, Light and Dark. Gear that increases the "Magic Accuracy" for the specific element in question do exist therefore to prevent confusion, the purpose of this article is to show you how to use the correct equipment to enhance magic spells.
I will start off by showing you some magic spells and the descriptions that go with it.
Gravity
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Gravity
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080701153910/ffxi/images/2/2e/Scroll_blm_gravity.jpg
Spell Cost: 24
Spell Element: Wind
Magic Skill: Enfeebling Magic
Jobs: Red Mage
Notice the Spell Element of Gravity is Wind? While the Magic Skill is Enfeebling Magic?
Lets take a look at the White Mage spell Addle.
Addle

Spell Element: Fire
Magic Skill: Enfeebling Magic
Red Mage Lv. 83
White Mage Lv. 93
The Spell Element for Addle is Fire while the Magic Skill is Enfeebling Magic.
Therefore a staff like this would support these 2 spells.

If you want, you can include the leveling path I posted in the "How fast is fast?" thread, though I think something better to touch on is Good mob selection for leveling. As while at lower levels this is not as significant, later on it starts having a more noticeable impact.
Like for someone soloing on DRG, if going as /mage, want to try and avoid mobs that Silence, AoE Sleeps, or Amnesia often, or have TP moves with high Damage potential like Sickle Slash and Death Scissors to name a couple. This changes a bit once get access to the JA trigger for Healing Breath.
Mages in general its good to focus on enemies like Beetles and Crabs due to them having MP to Aspir. Worms make another great target for mages if have access to Silence as well due to them not being able to move once engaged.
Fat bats in general make good targets due to not having many dangerous TP moves.
Also don't forget to keep in mind enemy weaknesses and resistances to damage types.
Just a light sampling of some things that go into selecting a good target mob.

@Daemon, don't know if you are active on wiki, I made a general soloing guide that may have something you are interested in, it is not job or gear specific but more general play notes. If you find anything useful in it feel free to help yourself. Search "My Way", it's the only thing that comes up in results. I tinker with it occasionally-been a couple months now, I need to remove the lack of merit references from geo and rune as an example.
Also, when you get your guide organized and into 1 complete document you might want to post it on the fan sites, it's alot easier to direct people to a link than it is to post elements in all these forum windows, especially since if there is no activity your guide falls off the screen here and NOBODY uses the search function on here, hence the 80+ threads whining about your r/m/e weapon not being the shiznet anymore on the forums. If people did the searches they might even notice that upgrading them HAS been answerred now, at least twice, they just haven't implemented the fix yet. I never link to my guide just because I hate being flamed, and I see a difference between constructive feedback and flames. On that subject, hope this guide doesn't get the flame treatment your last one did, at least you are trying to help, the flamers usually aren't.

Quick Level to 99 Part II
[Pro Strategy Tip
Fighting something that's higher level may give you more EXP but because its harder and has more HP "over the course of time" may prove to be slower than fighting something slightly weaker and lower in experiance points.
be aware of the ensuing skill gap you are creating, you'll need to correct that at some point. Skill-up rate is max against EM-T prey, and cannot cap at all below DC-.

oh, I totally understood that, was just pointing out that you might want to remind people of the trade-off. The pro to speed leveling that way is that there is no need to regear that soon, or hit up your next spell scroll or whatnot (granted, if you pack it in advance you can just use it in the field). the con is that it will take you longer to skill-up later.
oh, warning #2 one of the primary rules, "don't get cocky", i.e. you've gotten whatever down to EP, congratulations, that doesn't mean you can necessarily survive 6 of those beating on you simultaneously, and if you die you get to redo that XP.

The skill up food information is wrong ( not entirely your fault as the NA side has had bad information all along on that front).
A guide was released in Japan with all food effect details. The foods give a flat multiplier to skill up rate ( elshena family combat and pitaru family magic) and since the highest ( Montagna and B.E . W. ) give 1.8x they should always be used.

Do you have a link to that information so I can correct what I posted based on wiki, FFXIAH, bluegartr and allakhazam?
I did put Elshena group as combat, Pitaru as magic.
Also the level range at which those food can be used. Montagna and BEW are the best but i would have assumed the other foods work for lower skill ranges. Price also makes a difference. If you have a link to official info could you please post it and thanks it would definitely be appreciated.

You can find links to the JP information on BG Wiki under Skill Up foods.
According to JP wiki: http://wiki.ffo.jp/html/25100.html
Skill Rate Multiplier Melee Food Mage Food
Skill rate 1.2x Saltena Stuffed Pitaru
Skill rate 1.4x Elshena Poultry Pitaru
Skill rate 1.6x Montagna Seafood Pitaru
Skill rate 1.8x Maringna B.E.W. Pitaru
Does this mean there is no level range? Would a level 1 be able to use BEW and Montagna? If anyone can confirm this, would be appreciated. Thanks.

I might of been off a level or two in a couple spots on that leveling path, but I have done it solo for the most part on whm, rdm, blm, sch, blu, drg, sam up to 49 or 50 depending on if partnered up with someone in a spot using that path. Sch, Drg and Blu have done the whole thing. Mostly going lv 10ish gear lying around and RSE equipment when it became available for armor. And have multiple others was working on taking through it, just delayed by bonaza marbles eating up space. Just after Garlaige's bat and beetle page, it becomes really variable as to what locations work best. That whole mob hp going up faster than damage output, and different mobs TP moves can be a pain for different jobs.
