View Full Version : Change focus of ffxi content to be primarily 6 man? 18 man is dead imo

Just wondering, since the fact that FFXI has been dying due to FFXIV near release and the fact that Delve has made most content utterly obsolete, if has there been any serious consideration to focusing on a 6 man content game overall for the structure of ffxi? I know this a bit vague on my opinion but I wanted to see if this has been considered as the game is lacking numbers to support 18 man content all the time (all you see nowadays is shouts for Delve). Be nice to see the old content be revamped for a 6 man experience and to make the conditions for entry and overall difficulty reduced for events such as Legion and Voidwatch (this should be 6 mannable but it isn't) and events such as Normal Nyzul Isle and Assault (why aren't these 1-6 man entry? shouldn't be 3-6 man). Any input is appreciated.

How are you concluding the dying of FFXI (because of FFXIV at that) and Delve making other content obsolete? I haven't played in about a month, but from experience, those comments are far from the truth.

On Phoenix Delve shouts are few and far between, I see 1 party going at a time at most, ever, besides that its run by people who invite only friends. Other content is hardly shouted for either. So at this point it seems like if your not in one of those Delve groups, or your not in a linkshell for other content, your screwed.

I understand your statement, but no shouts != no players. I never do stuff with a LS. Every time a new expansion pack is released, a lot of people either rejoin or join FFXI. Contrary to the point made, those are the BEST times to get old stuff done. I've seen a lot of shouts for Abyssea content. Even without the shouts, I've just shown up to a NM pop and randomly joined parties.
As mentioned, this is a pattern. The help will surely die as people get what they want, but that isn't any different than before. So, I fail to see the connection with FFXIV.
