New Player to FFXI world! Need Help!

Hi there, just decided to start playing since I am very interested to see how FFXIV ARR turns out and I've heard great things about this game. I'd have to say the learning curve in this game is extremely hard without guidance. Would anybody be willing to give a helping hand. I have made a character on the Odin server since I have heard it is one of the most populated and I might have the most luck finding a LS or just a friend to help me out.

Lots of questions including...

Where do I go as far as questing/leveling in the very beginning? The town and map does not seem very user friendly. (Started in San d'Oria)

Best way to get gear... how do I become a Samurai? lol ... etc

If anybody has a TeamSpeak server out there it would be great way to get some help. I could use any help I can get really! :)

First do quest from top of port sandy ah for beetle shell and also bat wing quest. Those 2 are easy and get u gil at low risk and decent return. Next to get Sam u must have a job at lvl 30 or higher. Then u must goto Norg in sea serpent grotto. Next see elvan NPC by gilamesh's room I forget name. For lvling kill stuff near town till xp runs out generally around 10 - 14
. Now a days ppl goto gusgen mines to do skeleton pages till around 30 - 40 depending on amount of ppl with low lvl coming but pages stop at lvl 26- 27. As to gear NPC early on have what u need otherwise ah if u got gil.

Also save all seals and crests u find they are for bsnm or ksnm fights which can get u better gear depending on what they are. Use signet from guards it'll get u more gear also and xp ring
