Lately I feel that the FFXI community is very much ignored in all aspects, what I mean is that most of the time we don't get a smart response from the developing team or they just dance around our questions or feedback.
In 2012 we had a vision of what was to come and on what they will be working on, this gave the community a vision of progress in the state of the game, mind you that not everything was achieved in 2012 as suspected but that is understandable.

they are using the roadmap in ffxiv why not with ffxi after just releasing a new expansion ?

Just looking at that roadmap annoys me... New 2-Hours, DRK Fast Cast, Absorb adjustments, Cait Sith, Ranged Delay, Boost, New Merits, New Attachments, Second Meebles Expansion, PaaM, Adventuring Fellow Areas, and everything to do with the UI, I think that's about everything from that list which is still missing over a year late on some of the stuff.

1. the Director changed (Tanaka left)
2. the new Director Matsui apologized last year when he took over that the roadmap cant be done how it is and that the prioritys lies on the new expansion and various adjustments (attack/defense adjustments, enmity adjustments etc.) and further testing.
I am not saying its all good things got delayed, but when someone takes a project over, they usually need time to restructure some things and put the prioritys somehwere else where they are most needed. In that case Matsui has done a very well job by adjusting stuff like Legion, Nyzul Isle etc etc.

I have to tell you, As someone who works in the IT industry managing staff, websites, databases, well really basically anything that runs on electricity and anyone that works with it for my company as well as handling numerous projects and finishing them all on time using skills that I taught myself via internet late at night (I used to be a chef...) in my downtime from FFXI (camping Argus, KB etc.), I have a hard time cutting them any slack on this stuff. They should have worked this crap out by now.
I really wish they would reach out to the community for help. I'm almost certain that there are some highly qualified people who would gladly lend a hand to get them on track in this community.

2. the new Director Matsui apologized last year when he took over that the roadmap cant be done how it is and that the prioritys lies on the new expansion and various adjustments (attack/defense adjustments, enmity adjustments etc.) and further testing.I know, part of my problem is the fact they ignored their previous obligations they made to the players and instead went 100% on the expansion while doing very little before it came out. How long must we wait for year old or two year old things we were told we were getting we still have yet to see? Why have we waited this long in the first place? An expansion? So far as I know that does not reach far enough back to cover all of our missing content, not only that, but many things we are missing should not be to hard to do. DRK version of Fast Cast? That can not be to hard to do... really... I fail to see how, same with Absorb spell adjustments, or our way overdue avatars, and so on. Its not a valid excuse for everything, or much at all to me. Tanaka left, Matsui came in, I understand that's a change, but it does not mean before Tanaka left we could not see some of these things he told us about, Avatars were talked about long before he left, and some of these other things like the UI have been talked about since Matsui stepped in, yet still not here yet, or even on the test server.
I don't know, to me, it seems like they love making promises and then forgetting them. Look at FFVersus, it took forever for us to get an update on that game, many thought it was put down and forgotten, now its FFXV, which is great, I love it, but still, that's how these updates feel. Cait Sith we saw a video of, one many people pointed out could be done by any player who knows how to .dat mod really, why did it take 2 years to get that done? Could they not give us more? In this time should it not be out yet or on the test server already? Its ridiculous.
I especially feel bummed out that they have not delivered on their "visions" or even tried to fix classes that are prety crummy right now. New jobs are great, I guess, but why introduce more jobs that generally aren't wanted for content before fixing the ones you have?

Voidwatch fixed Paladin a bit, and now Adoulin has made Paladin essential again. Seekers of Adoulin also fixed Bard and Corsair by making them relevant again.
Red Mage, Summoner, and Dancer still need help, but the developers have restored 3 other jobs that had dropped from glory into obscurity since level 75 days.

Adding new content that once again requires an Aegischain is not "fixing Paladin."
For whoever brought up Tanaka, in an interview, Tanaka stated he left only AFTER making the roadmap for the future of FFXI, it just seems like it hasn't been followed to me, but my point is that Tanaka left them the roadmap, left it FOR the current dev team, it wasn't for him, it was so the current dev team knows what to do.
And they ignored it.

Adding new content that once again requires an Aegischain is not "fixing Paladin."Not only that but to my understanding people have been killing the NMs and Bosses without PLDs at all anyways, so its use was once again restricted to the beginning of content upon release, and then its use was killed off as soon as people learned how to do without.

Voidwatch didn't "fix" pld at all, the only fights where I probably wouldn't go without a pld in the group would be Morta and Bismarck. Both brd and cor were infinitely more useful for vwnm fights than a pld. Abyssea kind of made brd and cor redundant for a while, but other than that both jobs have always been wanted and needed.
On-topic: I don't even want to look at that roadmap, it really leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. SE has been making promises they seem to be unable to keep, and instead of actually working on keeping these promises, they're giving us stuff like item level.

I've had a nin hold Aello's adds without issues, however you're right about the T1 Tav/Aht mobs, I actually forgot about those since I believe people just do those once for the win and then never again, lol.

yea I have to say I feel ignored, abyssea was added to save game from death an it was awesome then when abys was getting old hat vw was added and game was good again. it seems like delve has been added to keep people interested till xiv comes out because its really not a challenge or even time consuming. I turn on utube and see letters from the producer about ffxiv and cant help thinking ffxi is supposed to die soon and how if this is or isn't the case how nice it would be to get a vid or post to tell us loyalist of fans most around for 6 plus years whats going on, theres no way they don't know the turmoil ffxi is in an yet no response about it, come on SE I love the game show us some love back

I am under the same impression this is the reason why i have stopped joining delve shouts for plasma farming. Last one I join was on Monday 17, I am not longer interested in working on my delve weapon nor my empyream weapons because there is really no point in doing so. Since it just seem to be a distraction until XIV is out.
It just sad that there is not communication with the community other than the usual pointless stuff like Monstrosity, Continuous login Campaign, Eleventh Vana'versary Abyssea and Atma Axtravaganza. do us a favor and make it worth our wile focus on the things that matter to us obviously you have been doing it wrong. SOA seems to have potential it started up right when to wrong as soon as they out power R/E/M now they have a lot of people that stock around and worked there delves up to max and will be out power once again by R/E/M. there is got to be away for them to notice the community is annoyed with them.

UI Revamp {Where?}
I actually like the loot system for delve, they just need to add a way of farming plasm that is either a) not trash mobs (for people who aren't at the level of doing super bosses, I mean!) and or b) in smaller groups. It's so painfully boring to do plasm farms now I am not motivated to do them at all.
Alot of people keep saying Delve isn't challenging, but have you actually went and tried the bosses? They are pretty challenging. The way delve was supposed to play out was in three different stages. Stage 1, beat the T1-T3 NMs and farm plasm for armor. Stage 2, beat the T4 and T5 NMs, and farm plasm for weapons. Stage 3, put all your effort into beating the bosses. The majority of people stopped after beating the T4-T5 NMs and didn't even attempt the bosses. The bosses are what is the most time consuming and challenging of the delve content, but a lot of people feel like they can't be bothered because the spike in difficulty is too high, when that was the whole point. They then say they are bored with delve, or completed the delve content without really tackling the largest part of said content.
Furthermore, in the next update coming out soon, we will have the following the remainder of the Seeker's of Alduin zones and wildkeepers released(Well probably except the seventh special one). A big part of the story released. Artifact weapons and gear for the new jobs, merits for the new jobs. 5 new sets of armor from skirmish v2, whose content lvl is higher than delve t1 NMs. Weapons which will be augmentable comparable to delve weapons. The elemental magic update, and i forget what else, that is all of the top of my head.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make by mentioning the above is that SE was focusing on releasing the rest of the expansion first. With the areas fully realeased, I'm sure SE will have much more time/resources to work on other things they promised. For instance, the update following this coming update I expect SE to make good on a lot of their promises. IE: Relic upgrades, new summons, new 2hrs, bst and smn upgrades (might be coming in this update coming soon), monstroity, tier 3 merits etc, more storyline, and perhaps the final seventh wildkeeper. There will also probably be delve v2 in the new areas.

Add 'down?' at the end, makes sense.
State of the game and direction of the game after Seekers of Adoulin, are we shutting down?

Yeah, they messed all this up. You can blame the players all you want (Stockholm Syndrome?) but the fact of the matter is that the players couldn't have done everything wrong if the devs hadn't made it wrong in the first place. Murphy's law and a bunch of other things of that nature apply to this.
Common sense as well as history tell us that if you make people do x in order to get to y, eventually most people will have y and there will not be enough people left to do x any more. They did so many things to accelerate that process that it's ridiculous.
I don't know what the hell the thread title is trying to say. Can I have it again in standard English, please?
I'm pretty sure it was supposed to say "State of the game and direction of the game after Seekers of Adoulin are we shutting down?"
Implying that the devs have no further plans, or something of that nature.

just throwing this out there.... comparing content intended for people progressing vs people at the top already the ones using paladin with ochains are the ones who've been OP'ing the game for awhile... if you read strategies for when people were trying to take down delve bosses they were dieing alot....they won them by zombieing.... doesn't that say something?

With ff14 actually being fun and good and that they added alot stuff. That people in ff11 wanted fixed in ff11, I would say this game got until Nov. and Then they need to look at it decided if this game no longer profitable and if there going just shut it down or design a way to add profits back in to the game. With putting in a free to play model to get some those users from ff14 to still play this game from time to time and get a subscription for a month for ff11. Ever so often for ff11. Say by jan 2014 game be shut down unless they do something drastic from here on out.
I know many people will be like I am never going leave ff11 , but as more and more of your friends in the coming months move over to ff14 . You are going to either give up on the game from the low population or miss the old days and quit for some time or move over to ff14 also.
I think they just gave us seekers to make a quick buck to help get some money for ff14. Reason there just throwing out all this stuff so unprepared for SoA. To keep as many people as possible till ff14 launches.
IMO: I think ff14 is going to become a mainstream game over in japan. In NA markets it going to become a strong contender for a mmo on the more mainstream side even with the subscription base since most final fantasy fans are over the age of 25 now days and they can afford it. Since it going to bring in a lot of the final fantasy fans , That typically never played any real mmos before. That will enjoy ff14. Not the elite pc side or hardcore pc side of the mmo market though will ff14 be big for some time since feels to casual to that group of people.
So there is still a chance ff11 can keep succeeding and making them money.

Sad to say this but I use to believe that I'd never drop from FFXI until SoA pretty much killed my motivation to work on Mythic, Relic and other long time consuming quests after delve allowing everyone to easily obtain items more powerful than previous content.
Only reason I'm interested in moving to FF14 is the fact that its new, reading way too many positive reviews, it looks like it will be the next big thing but because it seems to have been given way too much overhaul attention and correction of the many things we endlessly cried help for.
Who wants to play basic games off a pentium with 256 RAM when you can play bigger and better ones off a 6 Core with 32 Gig of ram, 52 inch TV? PS2? People still play off that? O.o technology is not the same as a decade ago.
Unless SE does a major overhaul on FFXI moving the game over to PS3 platform and pump in the same attention it did to 14 after 1.0 failure, this game will continue to hang on a limb with its limitations due to PS2 standards.
Final Fantasy XI : Impending Doom. (Coming Soon, Please look forward to it!)
This game will never get a Major Overhaul, Can you imagine the cost to convert eleven years worth of content to an new engine?
