They should have just given the city part of western adoulin and eastern adoulin and the waypoints quests for free. No other Quests. , but one.
Then given only the mission for the reives part for ceizak battlegrounds and yahse hunting grounds for free and able to earn bayld , but unable to spend it. unless you got the expansions unlocked.
With the scaredy-cats quest they only can go that area if the quest active and once finish it lock them out. , unless content code for the expansion activated.
This way it would allow more people to do the reives and help the colonization rate. , also make those on the fence be like you know what time to get seekers.

if i had known what this new expansion was like i wouldn't have bought it to begin with. Its a broken expansion that divides the player base even more so then any time in FF:XI history.

The developers said from the start that seekers was for high level players. I would assume that meant well geared players also, I think that's what most of you fail to realize.

I knew it was going to be bad, if I could've seen 2 months into the future, I wouldn't even have gotten it either.
Then again, 11 years ago, I wish I hadn't gotten it in the first place, man I'd be so happy to have never started... but that's a whole different side topic.
I do have to admit though... while I don't really enjoy wasting my time, watching people wipe to delve NM's really does entertain me, though watching the people wipe to VW was also equally entertaining, if not more so....

I have the "nothing better to do" issue that plagues me. I work nights, so I usually get off work between 11pm-1am.
Kids are asleep, TV usually is pretty boring, and there's truly NOTHING better to do than play FFXI. It's really a last resort at keeping myself somewhat entertained at this point. And obviously it's not working. I spend most of my time of FFXI tabbed out trolling various "Delve is haaaarrrddd gimme free shinies!" posts...

Same boat dood. I hate everything, I just happen to hate (used to) ffxi slightly less than anything else. I don't watch tv, I don't watch movies, I don't listen to music. It's literally the lesser of two (many) evils...
I don't even play anymore, I just login to chat to friends, what the hell is going on SE!
No friends Online at the moment
Actually I just login to chat to friends so we can arrange what we going to do in this weekends FFXIV beta test!!

Yes then why even put in the colonization system and the reive system if only the most elite players are able to play it. That system was design for alot of players though and only about 10% of the people are the most elite or hardcore geared to even do them on a decent time. I can tank all the mobs with dancer in ceizak reives, but when there only 2 or 3 other people not worth the 2 hr fight , when I can just hide and use my Bst. Then all the quest were design for exp points , since most those people had there jobs to lv99. It just divided up what users they had left and made alot of people quit.
I feel they just released it to make some fast cash for ff14.
I think most people can agree that , It is fine to have it so you need the most elite players and elite geared players and gil selling sites and linkshells and website clans. Should always have stuff to do.
Yet they took the game backwards again like CoP. For those of us that like to just have fun with are friends with really good gear that we earned and at a normal pace to get are better gears in SoA.
Does not matter anymore for me ff14 sold me this last weekend , I borrowed my friends ps3 and got a beta code. Thats the game for me now days., plus all my friends going over there now. Just sucks losing the 10 yrs I put into this game.

Been sitting in West Adoulin for over an hour now, and even the JP seem to have given up. There have only been 2 event shouts in the last hour, both by JP players, and they give up after 2~3 shouts.
Seeing as it's 6~7pm JST timeframe... You'd think maybe there would be a bit more going on?
Nah, I must be imagining things. FFXI is as alive and exciting as ever. Now we just need a dev to come into the thread and toss us another steaming pile about the "Super awesome leet uber game fixing updates" they're cooking up to release just in time for XIV going live to smash it into the ground.

Right now at a reive just wailing away with a friend , on the knotted root as a BST we figured get what bayld we can for now and watch a movie or tv show with split screen tv and the cpu reading message boards. Waiting for the next ff14 beta.
So what's next, shouts for Free Company recruitment?

I actually got bored and shouted earlier today. Got 4 people the Reive Unity quest done, then Ochain tanked some reives for bayld. Was mediocre form of entertainment that didn't last long, but meh.

The problem is the expansion's systems depend on a lot more than just the best of the best players participating. you can't make a whole expansion just for the hardest of the hardcore. SE is quickly proving that it just doesn't work out well.

Another problem I see is the massive disconnect between the expansion's main attractions: Delve and Colonization. There is very little in the way of a symbiotic relation between the two. You CAN argue that you must clear reives/get waypoints to get to the delve nms outside but that is hardly anything I would call symbiotic. Prior to SoA the devs did a great job of making most events related to others in some shape or form. The entirety of ToAU was well crafted in that one could participate in one feature and yet still make headway towards another, namely assault missions and salvage as the best example. Later Devs made it so that conquest/campaign/Imperial standing, points could be used for Voidwatch stones and thus raised some interest in those areas.
Right now there is nothing in the way of a symbiotic relation between Delve and colonization anything aside gaining gear to simply toss away perhaps in the same day.

Aye.. Before delve came out every area had a high colonization rate and by extension, Wildskeeper rieves became a lot easier. Now, they don't even happen, and every area's colonization rate except Ciezak has crashed.

My own suggestion to aid in this mammoth of a problem was to make byald convertable to either plasm directly, or make it possible to buy airlixirs with them thus allowing casuals and people who are simply unlucky or lack the resources of others to progress on their own time even if it is much slower than your typical plasm farm. As it stands one event is simply a blockaid to another which does not increase the level of entertainment gained from said event.
Also I am VERY aware that you can get rocks for fractures and entry pieces for skirmish from rieves, but the rate is at such a pathetic rate to say it has some real sort of symbiotic relation to either event is LAUGHABLE.

you know, as a casual, you still have the ability to shout for a plasm farm run which will ensure that you don't get left out and can get the gear via that method right? chances are you'll get someone with the KI to enter the area and you just give them the rock then lot your entrance fee yourself or whatever you decide to do.

I already have the ability to enter an alliance and has lead many alliances. My problem is how mind numbing the process is and frustrating it can be to get people who aren't semi-afk because the game hardly keeps their attention. My ultimate goal is to advocate that the devs make events in adoulin interconnected beyond some barrier or weak connection such as a low chance drop to participate in the other events.

I was wary when I learned the amount of SoA content that would be on a server-wide basis, requiring multiple people to constantly participate to maintain. I did not, however, anticipate exactly how quickly it would all fall apart. Hardly any of the camps are available on my server as there just aren't enough people bothering to complete supply runs. When aspects of an expansion are mostly ignored server-wide within months of release, you've done something terribly wrong...
