View Full Version : Question about ATK/DEF changes and abyssea

For me, this is just mere curiousity, but I had thought the atk/def changes from adoulin were only to affect Adoulin (the idea sounded like a hassle, but I still thought that's what they'd said.).

I've noticed, helping people in abyssea, that things are hitting much harder. It doesn't bother me that much. I've got the abyssites, and plethora of atma that it isn't an issue for me or any of the "ab-ez-ya is ez" people.

On Sobek vs Ninja (with Protect III) and Resheph vs Dancer, Monk, and Ninja (Monk changed jobs for second kill, Protect V) I notice they're hitting for 500s. With Protect 5, these jobs clear 500 defense easily. It seemed like, at 90, Sobek hit for the 300s range, but I could be remembering it wrong.

I found a youtube of a dnc soloing Sobek at 99, it appears, and he's being hit for 300s.

Still, because people are always returning and always trying to gear up, I think SE might look into these things and *just see* if numbers are right. If there's a problem, it's very easy to bandaid: Apply a defense modifier to to the visitant status buff.

You are right and wrong, they do need to change something with it if their damage did go up by a large amount(% wise, not like 200 damage is now 500, but like +30~50% is a lot) however you are wrong about the change in general. The Level correction removal was Adoulin only, the attack/defense ratio was changed for all jobs in all areas, this is for both 1-handed DDs who got a boost of .25 cap as well as mobs who basically had their cap doubled.
