I am helping out a friend on this trial and for some reason my automaton final blow kills do not register as a kill for them

Just to be certain, make sure it is a normal attack getting the final blow. DoT, damage from a WS chain, etc. will not count as a pet killing the target. Just throwing that out there, as it is a common misunderstanding with the trials.
