Decided to go kill Cerberus because it was up and wandering around and I need Cerberus meat.
Half an hour later he's at 55% with my bereaver critting for 69 damage and rocking out 139 damage Resolutions.
So is he supposed to walk around fulltiming rage mode or is he broken?

Correct me if I am wrong but don't they build Physical resistance when you use nothing but Physical and Magical resistance when using nothing but Magic? If so, you were going at it with a GS, good weapon, problem is without a good amount of Magic to counteract the Physical, you are setting yourself up to do no damage half way through.

It certainly wasn't always like that, or would have noticed it before.
Seems like it is mistakenly adopting the whole "physical/magical seesaw" effect that the Cerberus in Bhaflau Remnants II has, for some reason...

I certainly don't remember that to be the case either, or I imagine I would have definitely not defeated it when I did (at some point way before level 99). I do imagine I would have noticed... maybe!?
Only seen that happen at Salvage II. Maybe they did, as above hinted, somehow manage to push that over to the Mount Zhayolm version as well... hah!
That's of course assuming they are indeed talking about that Cerberus.

In all honesty I never fought many of that race so I thought it was a race thing, except the ones in Abyssea, like everything you can cut off I figured they were removed in Abyssea, but outside I thought they had that as just a race trait.

This has been an issue for a long time now, first time I heard about it was some time after Abyssea was first introduced, by someone who's done his fair share of kills back at 75 cap. There's certainly something "off" with Cerberus in Mount Zhayolm now, compared to how he used to be. I know it's also been reported at a bug on this forum (if you want to go digging for that post you probably need to go waaaaaaaaay back).

Fought Mount Zhayolm cerb recently, and yes, it does have the damage seesaw mechanic. Fight it down to around half, and then try popping Formless Strikes... your damage will shoot upward.
