how often do i have to pay to not lose a character? I would like to know what the cost would be to maintain character data w/o providing service because I am not going to be able to play for sometime, however I would not want to lose my characters.

at the same time i am disapointed with the directors decision to out class relic weapons in general, I think exalibur should be a solid 99 weapon and not out classed by like 80%..

so I would just like feedback on how often would a character be deletion, and or do I have to keep it activated every month? Thanks,

I do think that is an old roll. I think SE said that your char data will be saved and not removed sometime back in 2008/9. I was away from the game for a little over 3 years and my data was still there when I came back.

It's just insurance for SE in case they for some really strange reason would have to delete old characters, they would be able to say "we told you so". It is of no practical importance. I don't think there is a single instance of an old inactive character being deleted by SE in the history of the game. A friend of mine reactivated after 5 years of inactivity and still had his character.

There is also a difference between cancelling your game subscriptions and cancelling your entire POL/SE account. There is no reason to cancel the POL/SE accounts, except paranoia over SE having information about you. There are only reasons for cancelling content IDs.

This is a good question. The players who are scared of canceling their subscriptions (content ids) need to know in case they choose to come back. One thing to make sure of is before you cancel clear out your ah and mailboxes. That way if you seen to come back a year or 2 later (if the game survives) There will most likely be a server merge or two by then. You'll those lose those items if the server moves.

I assume that when reborn comes out the FF11 will take a huge hit in population. Seeing the design direction things are headed if you leave now it'll be next to impossible to get back into the game with gear growth.
