Ironclad Sunderer strange drop situation

Me and a friend are trying to farm Iron Plates from Ironclad Sunderer in Abyssea - Grauberg in these weeks. In many internet sites, we noticed that he has a chance to drop 2 Iron Plates but after 20+ kills (with th8+) we never saw a 2x drop. We started to think it's some kind of bug...
