Ummm, so this was deleted last time I posted it. Great customer service, I call PlayOnline and they said post on the forums so they can help me, so I make the topic like PlayOnline said, no official response. I make a second, third and fourth topic, so instead of responding, they delete the topic, how professional. So they can take the time to delete the post, but not the time to respond, wow.

Anyway, here's Round 3 again and now that we have the new shield contest, I'm screwed again, thanks PlayOnline, I can feel the love that you guys have for your paying customer for over 10 years. I'm sooo glad my wife and I spend over $650 a year to play this game. If I spend $1 at a store, the treat me like my business matters, how much do I have to spend here to get 10% of the attention that the store would give me? If I was a Japanese player, I bet they would have answered these topics already...

PlayOnline - Stop Excluding Paying Members From Your Online Contests!!! (Round 3)

Update: I was feeling a little angry when I wrote this because I was feeling like a second class citizen when I got excluded (again) like with previous contests. I do apologize for the tone of this message, but it does clearly represent the frustration that not being seen as an equal can make people feel.

Hi,

I called PlayOnline and she told me to post on here.

My wife and I both entered the Valentione's Day Mog House Decoration Contest (NA) and she has received her (Apie) wastebasket in her delivery box yet my character (Cegiana) has not. We both share a Square-Enix account and since the contest clearly said, 1 entry per person, we are 2 people with 2 entries with 2 separate paying accounts on 1 SE account because of the token, so where's my wastebasket? We followed the rules, so don't tell me that it was 1 entry per Square Enix account, cause that's not what the rules say, it said 1 entry per person.

What's annoying is that I explained in my entry that we are TWO people under 1 square enix account and we each have our own PlayOnline account. So you get paid for 2 accounts every month from us, so like I said, where is my wastebasket? I'm getting tired of being screwed out of your contests because my wife and I decided to only get 1 security token, you never told us that if we got just 1 token that I would be getting excluded from every single online contest you have, what kind of crap is that? So, once again, where is my damn wastebasket?

This was just the latest, I haven't been able to enter any contests that my wife enters, yet we both pay every month, yeah that's really fair. Change your policy, today, not tomorrow, not in 6 years, but before the new egg contest ends so I, once again, won't be screwed out of entering the contest. I'm not the only one, I've complained about this before and replies from others tell me that I'm not the only paying customer being screwed here.

Your thread probably got deleted because it duplicated an existing one.

And hate to say this, you really should just keep bugging them to separate your two POL accounts. It can be done, even if they don't like doing it.

spamming the board with your problem isn't going to get it solved.

spamming the board with your problem isn't going to get it solved. How would you get it solved? If you report it to them anywhere they tell you to come here, and here its not getting any reply. Its like they are saying if you have a problem then that's to bad, go away.

Part of the problem is s/he/they are not seeking the correct and most reasonable solution- separating your accounts. Since two seperate people using the same account is itself a violation of the terms of use, screaming loudly enough through the *appropriate channels* e.g. support, not the forums, might help you. The only sure outcome of spamming these boards is an infraction or ban from the forums or game.

It is not unreasonable for contests to have provisions like "one per person" or "one per household" or things like that. This is done for fairness. Because the rules say a SE account is intended for only one person, saying "one per person" and "one per account" are the same thing as far as the rules go. The contest provisions are reasonable. The specific provisions of the Terms of Use relating to this issue are reasonable.

My sympathy for them is extremely limited, especially given the silly reason ("so we only had to get 1 security token") provided for putting both POL accounts under the same SE account. They didn't read the fine print before they went ahead and put both accounts under the same SE account, and that's nobody's fault but theirs.

I don't disagree that these rules should have been made more clear- but there's only so much they can do- they can't force you to read the legalese in full before you click "I agree." Many companies force you to scroll to the bottom before clicking it, but that doesn't mean you read it. I hope that this is a lesson to you to read the fine print.

It's pretty clear from the other threads that most people here understand this stuff. The contest rules are reasonable, and they don't need to be changed.

I'll address one other part of this...

Anyway, here's Round 3 again and now that we have the new shield contest, I'm screwed again, thanks PlayOnline, I can feel the love that you guys have for your paying customer for over 10 years. I'm sooo glad my wife and I spend over $650 a year to play this game. They don't have to have these contests. If you can't handle not getting double chances to win in a contest that they weren't under any obligation to provide in the first place, and that botehrs you so much that you're upset you're not getting you're money's worth, the best way to show your anger is to speak with your wallet and cancel. It's pretty much the only way you can show them the error you see in their ways, outside of having a dialogue with them in the *appropriate channels* (The forum is not the appropriate channel for this type of thing).
