As the title says...
People have now begun buying plasm en masse from the AH, and they stand by it, using the shards repeatedly, and it can quickly fill an entire chat log.
Can we please get a filter added to the chat filters for this? I see no reason why the whole server (well, those in range) needs to see that someone obtained 100 corpuscles of menace plasm.
It's the same with exp scrolls, but they are used much more infrequently so they aren't a hassle.

+1 I could really not care less how many plasm other people are getting.

Most likely tide to whatever exp is shown when people use exp scrolls.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm not terribly bothered by this.

its not super bothersome, but it isn't really necessary either. Not really sure why it was set up that way to begin with.

It won't have affected you until you're trying to get something done whilst standing at/by an auction house. If you're buying a load of pop items for a group of friends helping you out with an empy, or if you're just crafting or something and you have to keep checking back up through the chat logs to see who you've sent items to, or how many skillups you had since you last levelled up.
When you get 2-3 people all spamming these it really fills your chat log up fast.
It's not the most annoying thing in the world, granted. But it's completely unnecessary, and I really don't care to see that Krash's E-Peen is growing.

I don't personally care and it seems logical due to the other filters we already have, though I'm curious as your reasoning applies to party, tells, shouts, yells, linkshell and say as well, do you actually filter all of those while making purchases on the AH?

If only all the AH's were connected so you could sit at any AH of your choosing. That way when this is happening you could go somewhere else and not be bothered by it but still carry on with what you were doing and if only there was some sort of way they could make "/shout" go to several areas that way you could be at almost any AH in the game and not miss out on that PUG you were hoping would start but as far as I know, no such systems exist. :/

Hmm~...

Or you could go up 1 flight of stairs to Lower Jeuno.

Is there a filter for people spamming BRD scrolls at the AH? It really ruins my day when someone is learning all their songs all at once right there at the AH. It's not just the chat spam, but the sound and visual effects as well.
See I used to play BRD and grew to hate it. Hearing, seeing, and reading all those song scrolls being used really brings back painful memories and hurts my concentration. It's really hard to play effectively when I'm curled up in the fetal position under my desk and muttering things even I don't understand due to having to relive the trauma of my BRD days. Won't someone on the dev team please help me? Please make the hurting stop!

OK, now that's just getting silly. :p
I don't expect them to change this, but I'm really uncertain why they thought it was a good idea to tell everyone around you that you obtained 100 corpsicles of plasm.

People are really buying these in mass quantities? On Bismarck, the cheapest one is no less than 50k and would take over 15 million gil just to get one weapon through buying. x.x

If you're using the AH to buy craft items to skill up crafting, then there are only 2 AHs where you can receive a higher chance to get a skill up.
I'm quite surprised that a request like this brings out the trolls. If this doesn't bother you, then it's just like any other filter that you never touch. Default to off and ignore it. However if you do want this, then bonus, you get to turn it on.
@ Zagen: I would filter them out if they were particularly spammy, but I've never found that to be the case. Certainly not to the extent of the shard spam.

I'm not against the idea of this filter I just don't see it as a necessity considering there have already been preventative measures put in place to prevent these kinds of problems and as for there only being 2 AHs that you can sit at and get a skill gain bonus; that may be true but the odds of 2 people simultaneously sitting at both of these AHs spamming these is incredibly low considering their Gil-to-plasm ratios and you can literally teleport from one of the AHs straight to the other in the event that someone does start doing this. Honestly, I find people /yelling nonsense to be more of an annoyance than item spamming.
