Man, its so lonely and quiet in ffxi in bastok, i remember in 08 when people used to camp for emperor something lol. Played for about 20days back then from the 30 day free trial, now im back again officially.

And man it sucks to be the only one running around killing Quadav and Vultures.
And i see forum saying you can lv from 1 to 99 in 4-5 days... im having to spend 6 hours in bastok to get to lv 10 :/..

Wouldn't mind for some help :(

Heh. Clearly, you've missed one of the things that changed since way back then.

Look for a "field tome" or "grounds tome" (in dungeons). There's options for individual training in there that give you a huge exp bonus. You can do the "kill 7 Stone Eaters" one from the book right outside Bastok Mines till 12th or so and you're tacking on an extra 250-300xp + Gil per cycle doing so, which really speeds things up. At that point, Dangruf Wadi. Goblins + Wadi crabs off the grounds tome there by the entrance, that'll go up to 16-17 in a hurry as well, again getting Gil on each cycle on top of whatever loot you pick up (and even the random bits in brown caskets can go for a healthy chunk for a newbie). Go back home, kit up a bit. Go back to the Wadi. 17-24 off Wadi Hares and leeches page. Save the Gausebit grass, it sells nicely and you'll need a few for your chocobo quest later anyway.

The first cycle to 99 is slower than the ones that come after, since you're starting from scratch, and that means you need exp, gil, level cap quests, the whole nine yards. Don't worry about trying to level at that speed, you'll end up vastly undergeared, underskilled, and wandering around in noob gear trying to scrape enough Gil together to do anything, likely about where you hit L50 and your first level cap quest with Maat- because you hitched a ride on the exp alliance parties in Gusgen from 10-30, then Crawler's from 30-50 (and Abyssea exp alliances actually go 30-99, but with the cap you'd be stuck at 50 anyway).
