Steps:

Barbed Crescent
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Cast Barbed Crescent on a monster that will survive the damage done.
3) Wait two minutes, the maximum time that Barbed Crescent's Accuracy Down lasts. Often, nearly 100% of the time, the effect will not land at all. Repeat multiple times as necessary.

Tourbillion
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Use the job ability "Unbridled Learning".
3) Cast Tourbillion on a monster that will survive the damage done.
3) Wait two to three minutes, the maximum time that Tourbillion's Defense Down lasts. Often, nearly 100% of the time, the effect will not land at all. Repeat multiple times as necessary.

Hecatomb Wave
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Cast Hecatomb on one of the monsters in the area and wait for about 3 minutes, which is likely the maximum duration of Hecatomb Wave's Blind effect. If the Blind effect does not wear off, it did not land. This will happen almost 100% of the time.
4) Set your support job to Black Mage and repeat step 1.
5) Use Elemental Seal and cast Hecatomb Wave. While accuracy should be capped many, many times on these monsters, Elemental Seal would ensure the Blind to stick almost no matter what. You will notice that the Blind effect will still have a chance to not land with Elemental Seal, denoting a severe accuracy problem.

Sandspin
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Cast Sandspin on one of the monsters in the area and wait for about 3 minutes, which is likely the maximum duration of Sandspin's Accuracy Down effect. If the Accuracy Down effect does not wear off, it did not land. This will happen almost 100% of the time.
4) Set your support job to Black Mage and repeat step 1.
5) Use Elemental Seal and cast Sandspin. While accuracy should be capped many, many times on these monsters, Elemental Seal would ensure the Accuracy Down to stick almost no matter what. You will notice that the Accuracy Down effect will still have a chance to not land with Elemental Seal, denoting a severe accuracy problem.

Gale Axe
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Proceed to accumulate 100TP.
3) Upon reaching 100TP, use the weaponskill "Gale Axe" on a monster in the area.
3) Wait one or two minutes. Often, nearly 100% of the time, the Choke effect will not show an effect wears off message, denoting that the effect has not landed at all. Repeat multiple times as necessary.

Shield Break
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Proceed to accumulate 100TP.
3) Upon reaching 100TP, use the weaponskill "Shield Break" on a monster in the area.
3) Wait one or two minutes. Often, nearly 100% of the time, the Evasion Down effect will not show an effect wears off message, denoting that the effect has not landed at all. Repeat multiple times as necessary.

Armor Break
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Proceed to accumulate 100TP.

3) Upon reaching 100TP, use the weaponskill "Nightmare Scythe" on a monster in the area.
3) Wait one or two minutes. Often, nearly 100% of the time, the Blind effect will not show an effect wears off message, denoting that the effect has not landed at all. Repeat multiple times as necessary.

Infernal Scythe
1) Go to your zone of choice.
2) Proceed to accumulate 100TP.
3) Upon reaching 100TP, use the weaponskill "Infernal Scythe" on a monster in the area.
3) Wait one or two minutes. Often, nearly 100% of the time, the Attack Down effect will not show an effect wears off message, denoting that the effect has not landed at all. Repeat multiple times as necessary.

2) Proceed to accumulate 100TP.
3) Upon reaching 100TP, use the weaponskill "Shell Crusher" on a monster in the area.

There's probably even more spells and abilities that are affected, these are just the ones that I was able to confirm.

This issue has continued to plague the game for years now. If it is a bug, the community would like to see it finally fixed. It isn't asking a lot, considering most of these spells and weaponskills are worthless without their effects landing. Why does Tourbillion, a spell with huge MP cost and recast time, miss its Defense Down effect every single time I cast it? Why do relic weaponskills, Metatron Torment, Randgrith, and Onslaught, not perform in the way that they are labeled to?

If this is not a bug, we would like written confirmation that it is not, and furthermore would like an explaination as to why you've decided to make all of these spells and abilities worthless.

They work perfectly fine on the test server, but not on real servers. Most additional effects use the relevant magic or weapon skill to determine magic accuracy, and these seem to ignore that. Stuff lands just fine with Elemental Seal.

Steps:

1. Go fight a monster with enough hp to survive one of the following blue magic spells:

Tourbillion
Barbed Crescent
Sandspin
Hecatomb Wave

Or one of the following weapon skills:

Gale Axe
Shield Break
Armor Break
Weapon Break
Full Break
Nightmare Scythe
Infernal Scythe
Shell Crusher
Tachi: Ageha
Metatron Torment
Onslaught
Randgrith

2. Use said blue magic spell or weapon skill.

3. Keep the monster alive, and wait the maximum duration of the additional effects or longer. Most (or all?) the effects should have a maximum duration of 3 minutes or less, but you could wait 5 to be safe.

4. Watch the in-game log, and note how often the additional effects wear off. You will not see the message 95-99% of the time, meaning the additional effects almost never land.


There are probably other additional effects affected by this bug or 'feature', but those are the ones I am aware of. If these additional effects are intended to almost never land (and most of these spells/weaponskills are intended to be useless), please let us know. If it's a bug, please fix it, it's been there for a long time. Thanks.

Most additional effects use the relevant magic or weapon skill to determine magic accuracy, and these seem to ignore that. Stuff lands just fine with Elemental Seal.

1. Find an enemy with enough HP to not die from the following Blue Magic / Weaponskills

Tourbillion
Barbed Crescent
Sandspin
Hecatomb Wave

Gale Axe
Shield Break
Armor Break
Weapon Break
Full Break

Infernal Scythe
Shell Crusher
Tachi: Ageha
Metatron Torment

2. Use either the Blue Magic Spell or Weapon Skill on the enemy.

3. Do not kill the monster and wait 3-5+ minutes.

4. Watch the log during this time and notice that the additional effects from the above Weaponskills and Blue Magic does not wear off indicating that it was never applied in the first place.


The additional effects will not land regardless of mob level or mob resistance. You can fight a level 30 enemy that is weak to the element of the additional debuff whilst you are level 99 with capped Accuracy / Magic Accuracy and the effect still does not land.

It seems like the additional effects are either not processing with the appropriate Accuracy / Magic Accuracy or they are auto-flooring/failing.

More critically, these problems do not exist on the test server. They work fine on the test server but do not work on the live servers. So these cannot be tested on the test server and must be checked on the live server. Additionally these issues have not always existed. They did function correctly several years back but no longer do.

Please can this be confirmed whether it is intentional or a bug. It seems like it is a bug as they do not even land on the lowest and weakest of mobs so if it is intentional, what is the point of the additional effects existing at all?
