View Full Version : Cruor -> Gil Ratio

I know many people spend excess cruor on weapons/armor from Abyssea then NPC sell them for gil. My question is, is there anything in particular that's good to buy in terms of cruor spent -> gil earned from selling ratio?

i.e. minimal cruor spent, most gil earned. Or even just most efficient stuff to buy/sell in terms of time spent acquiring and selling.

Thank you for reading.

All the basic gear from teh first expansion. 480k = 1.19m gil.

That's a secret. If the secret is revealed then everyone will become rich or SE might tweak it. So I hope people who knows this secret won't reveal it. Also, it's not any exploitation because my friend was silly enough to call a GM about it and a GM claimed that it's working as it should be.

There's another method that is easier, faster and makes more gil than that method but I'm not going to reveal. :D

Let's just say this method makes 480k = 1.44m gil without any waiting either.

The exact gil ratio depends on how patient you are, because some pieces are a better gil->cruor ratio than each other. They all NPC for approximately the same amount, but they're rare so you have to balance time spent warping out and back to gil earned too.

Nope, not even that. It doesn't involve buying/using brews in hopes for a good drop that sells a lot.

Unless SE messed up and gave a NQ AF3 piece or Pyf Harp a high resale value, I really don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you're confusing this with Dominion points?

Chronofantasy
03-22-2011, 05:09 AM
Nah, nothing to do with dominion notes. Let's just say this method is very secret that very few knows about it which is why you and others here have no idea what I'm talking about. But it works great.

Mind you, if you can ever gain 480k worth of dominion notes (which would probably take forever) then you transfer notes to gil you can get about 480k > 2,160,000,000 gil

i have 450k+ Dominion notes xD on 2 characters

Well if that's the 480k > 1.19M method you were talking about then my method still works out to be more without brewing anything. Then again, you mentioned earlier that buying basic gear from old zones get you that ratio, so I don't know what ratio that 100% drop gets you that you're talking about.

My method doesn't involve the AH either.

Absolutely not. You added in 3 extra zeros, unless you found some Notes weapon that sells for 11,250,000 apiece. I'd love to find me one of them.

Yep I know. :p I realized that before I read your thing. It's 4500 profit per weapon.

lol, "secrets". I won't ask you to reveal the "secret" to your personal comfort zone that you feel the need to tease and taunt about.

It's 7k gil profit per 2500 dominion points for weapons and 7k gil profit per 3k Cruor for armor.

I was talking about 4500 between the dominion notes and gil. Use 2500 notes to make 7k gil.

7000 - 2500 = 4500.

Byrth

Okay, well it's 81 Yen/1$, so if I convert a dollar into yen I'll make 80.

UNITS, MAN. UNITS!

I wasn't talking about the profit with that, I'm just saying the conversion between the two. I know you make 7k gil separately but you still got to use something else to make that 7k gil, it doesn't just come out of thin air.

doesnt it depend on fame?

The GK NPC sells for a little over 7k gil iirc. Like 7,045 maybe, I might be slightly off.

Yes, that might take affect too, but I NPC sold some of the other weapons in port jeuno for 6.7kish like Tsu mentioned and I think the GK might be the only that sells for 7kish. There might be a weapon or two that I haven't tried to NPC sell yet though so maybe there might be more than the GK.

Ah the good 'ol days of when the expansion first came out and they were only 1k each to obtain. I miss those 3 days.

Maxed city fame is worth +2% resale price, if memory serves. But yeah, they're all right around 7k. It's Perle/Aurore/Teal stuff that sells for more like 6800.

Chronofantasy
03-22-2011, 05:37 AM
Yep. Those ones sound just about right for those prices.

I don't think most of you play on my server anyways so I'll tell you my method if you want to use an alternative method for cruor > gil.

Go to any Scars Abyssea zone and head to the resistance sapper where you accept the bastion ops quests. Choose the one which involves a chocobo. There's a chocobo NPC vendor right near these NPCs where you can buy some chocobo related items from only while this ops is accepted. Buy chocobo blinkers for about 200 cruor each as you can input how many you want up to 12 at a time. (It's better if you have more inventory space so you don't have to make as many trips back and forth)

Once you fill up on space or use as much cruor as you want then go to the city with your highest fame to NPC sell each chocobo blinker for nearly 600 gil each. You don't need to rely on using an AH either to wait for the items to sell.

Byrth

Ah, that's a better way to get gil from cruor then. Both less annoying and better returns. Not dramatically so, though, so I doubt it will be patched.

Cruor/Gil
Head
4000/7275
Body
5000/7562
Hands
3000/6988
Legs
3000/7131
Feet
3000/6701
Chocobo thingy
200/600

Quick! Someone calculate!

Chronofantasy

I think you make 9k if you buy 3k cruor worth of chocobo blinkers.

Byrth
03-22-2011, 05:46 AM
hurr duurrr Chocobo thing wins. Also, theoretically being able to take 240 stacks of them back at once (576000 cruor worth), or about 1.7mil worth, is much better.

Chronofantasy
03-22-2011, 05:48 AM
I haven't done this in a while though so the ratio could be slightly less, but even if the ratio was the exact same as the other basic gear then it's less of a pain going back and forth since you can try to clear your inventory with even all 80 spaces and buy the chocobo blinkers in bulk by stacks of 12.

Byrth
03-22-2011, 05:51 AM
Yeah, and if you clear satchel and sack you can get up to 240 stacks. You're exchanging 2400 cruor at a time instead of 3000, but you get about the same amount of profit per dialogue tree.

Yes, that sounds about right. I made 3-4 trips a few months back with 75 spaces opened while carrying with me 5 other items and I think while doing this for about an hour or so back and forth I made about 2 mil gil.

Chronofantasy

Yep, but it sucks that I have so much junk even after putting many things with the porter mog that it's near impossible for me to clear all 3 inventory types. If you have several mules or an extra character though that might help a lot.

Byrth
03-22-2011, 05:57 AM
I sold a lot of my gear that wasn't necessary any more after Abyssea. If I porter-moogle my applicable WAR and DNC gear, I can get down almost low enough to do this successfully. It would be a huge pain though, and I doubt I'd want to do the dialogue tree 240 times in a row without a break anyway.

Also, I have a lot of friends that still want stuff from Brewable monsters and I have enough gil. I doubt I'll do this.
