After leveling RUN to 57 (and running out of quad xp bonus) I decided to give RDM/RUN a go...

I already knew the spell list additions would be laughable (yay, Flash), considering RUN is a RDM clone. But at least the abilities would be interesting.. right?

Not right... and I was not amused... it's a fricking joke. Rune Enhancements block Enspell II... instead of dealing Enspell II damage with first hit and Rune damage with 2nd+ hit (Temper, DA/TA gear), it was dealing rune damage on BOTH hits... and each hit was less then the Enspell II damage at that..:( it wasn't even affected by Sword Enhancement Spell damage from Chimeric Fleuret...

RUN even gets Regen III and IV.. how long have RDMs been asking for that?

:mad:F that with a capital F:mad: RDM is going back in the box, together with it's buddies Pankration, Chocobo Racing, levels 30-98 and crafting profits. Back to a real job like PUP.

Thank Altana I didn't finish Excalibur yet and still got all the currency...

RUN even gets Regen III and IV.. how long have RDMs been asking for that? Not just that, it has mage and light DD sets even though it has almost no magic use by compare to melee, while RDM has a respectable amount of melee aspects to the job and it has nothing but mage stuff most of the time.

Yeah, I waited till after XP weekend to cash in on super cheap gear and people being burned out of leveling so I would have free zones to XP in.

I can see where RUN might turn into something great or interesting with merits/AF/Prestige Weapons, but RDM/RUN will never happen unless they make a lot of changes. Which I can't see why they would.

RUN currently isn't all that impressive so it's not surprising that RDM/RUN isn't impressive at all, since they clearly didn't have any intention of lending it to RDM. Anything useful is gimp or clearly outside of subjob range.

I will give SE credit, RUN doesn't really step on RDM at all because it can't be a real support. You take a RDM with a THF and some kind of a DD to a low man, you can contribute and do plenty. RUN doesn't have the tools to support others effectively. Mostly it lacks native heals and favorable MP return rates from refresh because they don't have composure.

so instead of making a new thread.... rdm/run, lame or rdm melee potential?

although rdm can do better enspel damage then subbing /run, i think the 2 main things that only matter to rdm are swordplay and lunge.

lunge needs rdm testing still. were able to possess 2 out of 3 runes subbing /run. a rdm can stack more +mab than a run can to buff that 1 aspect of lunge. i went out to outside adoulin and only tried this once (i'm no tester). i can only stack +33 mab. my /run lunge only did 700 damage without +mab on a mandy with relic sword, and 1k damage with the + mab. i can only imagine how delve bokwus Robe with +mab path would add to lunge.

i'm wishing foil was level 48 instead of 58. +13% Parrying Rate trait buffs rdms E parry skill a little. just have to wait and see what square further gives rune fencer below level 48.

ATM foil isn't anything to get excited about anyway.

ATM foil isn't anything to get excited about anyway. While that is true for RUN, it may be better for RDM, if it is 80 EVA like BG says it could be then you are talking about RDM getting about 2 and a half minutes of 80 EVA against TP attacks, I could see that being ok, that being said... /NIN trumps it easily either way because a shadow is better than simply 80 EVA, and if you can evade it chances are you can block it with shadows.
