I believe they need to add additional job abillities that can only be activated by different jobs being in the same party, ie; warrior and monk can activate fighter's spirit. a abillity that causes a red aura around the effected jobs increasing weapon damage.

Some people have been talking about making meteor a combined spell but others think it would be too difficult to pull off why not have one person click on the the combo spell or abillity and have the game give a message. " Turtlebuddah is preparing meteor." that way when the other players see the message they know to activate meteor as well

Theres already a thread on this , But The idea is cool but the question is.. what all is involved to make it work with programming/coding etc.... Will other players want this etc...

Coding and leaving jobs out (like what drk and pld are suffering now) would be my consern for it.

if that is advoided I am all for it, really neat idea but cor is kinda like that already.

I kind of like that idea, it would cause more people to work together again, but I think it would need to be a more complex system then simply melee to melee or mage to mage. Like the Band abilty in FFIV: The After Years(You could evem set it up like this actualy and call it the same thing.) or Double and Triple Techs in Chrono Trigger.

yea but not limiting it to just two job combinations have some be three or four job combinations or same job combinations like two pups getting an ability called string quartet that enhanses their frames natural affinities. Or drk nin and blm getting unholy trinity boosting enfeebles and elemental damage.

I think it might be an interesting idea. I but also think that what should be also implemented is that if two different jobs have the same (for example) job trait like PUP and Monk's Hand to hand trait.

If subbed and the jobs overlap each others trait they gain for their corresponding levels that they add together to increase the overall bonus they get.

Martial arts I PUP + Martial Arts I (from Subjob) = Marital arts II

Few lvls later Martial arts II pops up on main and subjob's Martial art II is attained = Martial arts 4

1 + 1 = 2
1 + 1 + 1 = 3
1 + 1 + 1 +1 = 4
etc

Makes subjobs even better. :)

I think it might be cool. I could see "Team up" weaponskills. Maybe have a Galka throw a Taru at the mob or something.

I actually hope they don't implement something like this to the game (at least not any time soon) because if they do, it'll probably do one of three things:

1) Be so weak that it's useless
2) Be strong enough that they feel the need to balance certain endgame encounters around it (aka; have the proper setup or have one hell of a time winning... some won't have a problem with this, but I always think there should be more than one way to skin a rabbit)
3) Bring back loljob and leave certain classes left out again, Abyssea's sort of eased that since nearly everyone is god-like but once we're out of Abyssea, we're going to have all new balance issues.

I always liked this concept, reminiscent of FFIV and Chrono Trigger. I'd have the same concerns as Charismatic listed, but I'm sure it could be done generically enough to work...

Instead of:
Flare + Freeze = Antipod (Requires 2 BLMs, yuck)

Do:
Fire IV + Blizzard IV = Antipod (So any combination of BLM, SCH, RDM could create it)

They could of course save a couple uber combos for more specific job combinations. Like maybe Ultima from Holy II + Meteor.

Definitely agree SE needs to make SCs and MBs more relevent. I think combination attacks would be a cool idea but probably would take a huge amount of effort to put in.
