I've been skilling Parrying on RUN and even tried as COR, I'm at 314 and have tried both, Elshena and Montagna, which seem to overlap at this level. I have heard Parrying happens more with Staves, More with Swords, etc. I bought a sword for RUN and popped Montagna, despite getting 2 levels of sword skill and parrying 5-7 times in about 2-3 minutes, not a single parrying skill up.

Do Skill up foods not cover Parrying? Does another food cover it?

EDIT: Forgot to point out while I WAS gaining skill under the effect of food, it was at the exact same rate as without.

Not enough information. What mobs were you fighting? If the mobs were too low a level for your skill you wont get skill-ups no matter what.

Also 2-3 minutes is not nearly long enough to make a judgement on whether or not the food is effective.

Skill lvl 314, Mandies at #6 in Aby Altep, I tried for more than 2-3 mins, I was more or less giving an example.

With the B.E.W. Pitaru, it seemed like my Handbell was going up a lot faster than Geomancy (when they usually go up about the same rate). Whether it's affecting one more than the other or one not at all, I'm not really sure.

It may very well be that skill up foods don't affect every skill the same way.
