Strongest Notorious Monsters

Hey all, it's been quite a while since people have agreed on what exactly the strongest Notorious Monsters in the game are. I'm looking at everything here, quests, missions, BCNM/KCNM, ENM, ISNM, SCNM, ZNM, HNM, ANNM, VNM and everything else. This includes absolutely anything you can fight besides other players.

What are your top ten?

Depends how you define strongest? By difficulty of battle or by power of the HNM?

Prov Watcher would easily top the charts though the availability of proc lock and fanatics spam significantly lowers the difficulty then what it would otherwise be.

After that, Mul Legion NMs.

Then Rex / Ig-Alima for the same reason as PW.

Then possibly ADL depending. He is by far the cheapest NM of them all though not necessary the strongest or hardest. We rely on stuns and PD (best groups can do it without) to bypass his cheapness.

Arch Dynamis Lord and not because he's the "strongest" merely the cheapest. He's got a bunch of moves that are dumb and can split into multiple copies that all then use those powerful moves simultaneously.

It really depends on your definition of "strong" or "ultimate". This is FFXI not one of the previous console games. If your looking for some super powerful optional boss battle then go play those.

Well mainly I'm looking for things to do in the game besides just leveling and gearing on it's own.

From what I've seen, Dark Rider would definitely be the strongest monster in the game just due to the fact that it's never been defeated. But what about AV, PW, Shinryu, Vrtra etc? Are they still considered to be in the top tier of HNM?
