We've received a few customers who are experiencing this issue. It seems that the PC login servers are open currently and some users are having an issue logging in on their XBOX 360s. We would suggest logging out for now and trying again shortly. If we have any more information or update about an extended maintenance we will keep everyone up to date here: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/info/info_top.shtml
We apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, can you please provide your ISP and what state/province you reside in, if possible? This will help us narrow down a solution.

XBOX with SOA expansion shows under maintenance after several reboots and a "Check Version" each time. PC user on same router logs in fine. ETA on fix?

Whenever you log out and log in, it just makes you "Check Update" - Nothing happens, and "cannot play during maintenance" scrolls across the top of the screen.

so help me god..... if they make us uninstall and reinstall after waiting days for our SoA discs and going thru the install and update of that... I might just uninstall it permanently. It's in no way an ISP issue... if it was my son who's in the same house on the same ISP would be having the same issues, but he's on pc and playing fine. People have logged into their accounts on pc just fine, but want to play on xbox 360. Instead of the usual bs excuses, can we just get an ETA on when it will be fixed?

Play button is greyed out on the FFXI launch screen. Across the top of the screen it states: Cannot play during maintenance.

(this sounds like a hung server somewhere)

ISP:Time Warner Cable, WI, USA

We've heard back from the server admins saying that it should be fixed now. Can you all please try logging in to see if you are able? If you are still experiencing an issue you've probably got a standard connection problem and can contact our Support Center (https://support.na.square-enix.com/contact.php?id=20&la=1) for some connection troubleshooting. Thanks for all the info guys!
