So, here's the deal. I got the Steam version of FFXI, bought SoA off the Square Enix shop. I installed it, found that FFXI wasn't recognizing SoA being installed (I registered it with my SE account). I found out why after I did some investigating. See, I had moved my Steam program (and all of my games) from Program Files (x86) to Program Files, apparently SE's installer for SoA doesn't recognize this change, so it installed it to Program Files (x86). I figured I'd be smart and just copy the files from Program Files (x86) to Program Files via cut and paste. POL then recognized that I had Adoulin installed, so I thought I was in the clear. I use the waypoint, and BAM! FFXI froze (sort of) in the Ceizak Battlegrounds (could still hear music, could still move mouse cursor). Stopped the process and logged in again, I was in the Ceizak Battlegrounds, could move around. I'm assuming I skipped a CS somehow, cause I got another one upon zoning from the Ceizak Battlegrounds, only it seemed buggy. An orc chasing a tarutaru, a galka running in mid-air and the orc from before (I'm assuming it is, as it looked to be the same tarutaru) replaced with an ice elemental. The text briefly turned Japanese, too. Currently running the file fix option to see if that works. Dunno if anyone else here had the same problem.
EDIT: The file fix option seems to have worked. I used the Goblin Footprints in the Ceizak Battlegrounds and I watched a CS with no problems, also the monsters seemed to be named normally.
