Get the item yourself. Items don't appear on the AH from nowhere, they come a location, quest, monster drop, BCNM etc.

I remember when back in 2006 when Erase was 500k and I was too broke to buy it. Did I complain? No, I killed mobs and earned enough seal to do several BCNMs to get the scroll. I've never inflated the market. I never oversold an item, nor did I ever buy one that was overpriced. I either waited or got it myself with the help of friends.

I don't mean this comment to sound harsh, but complaining to SE over acts of jerks exploiting the economy is nothing new (and nothing that can be solved with a little hard work).

Apply it to the raise scrolls and erase... (in that era) and yeah you had something a tad close.

Right now everyone and their grandma has most of their jobs leveled to 99 sadly due to the exp boom. What does that leave? Tons of players with nothing to level but the new jobs. Expect a large number of players unlocking it on the first day. Expect the prices to be insane. Give it a week or two and prices will drop again once everyone has either farmed the item or unlocked the job.

Do you really need the job unlocked right now, this very second or your experience in Vanadiel will end as you know it? Explore the new areas, kick back and enjoy some of the other content. If you need the item THAT bad go get it yourself. Push the envelope. If you don't want to bother, then it is not THAT important, yes? Why not wait then?

I literally bought the expansion and came back for the job. But you are right, clearly it isn't that important. I mean after the hassle of even getting the game downloaded and updated for the past 2 days just to log in and find out that I maybe not be able to unlock the job for 1-2 weeks anyways(half a month of what i had payed for in hopes to be playing it). I'm sorry that I am a little annoyed by that. With my highest on this account being 50 exploring the new areas are not really possible, the other content i'd like to experience on GEO while I level it and with that level of character getting that item could prove to be a huge task in general.

Really? Is it just a job you liked in other Final Fantasy games or is it just that the current jobs in FFXI aren't your style? I'm just curious. No ill will intended. Also, how many jobs have you tried since Blue Mage is your highest at 50? Have you done any of the existing storyline yet?

If Geo really means that much to you, I do have some friends on your server (although, last I spoke with them is 4 months ago) that may help you.

This isn't my original character actually. I've been playing of and on since 2002 when i got the game for Christmas when i was 13. I've literally tried every job except for...Hmm PLD ha. GEO is just very appealing to me across all. The ability to use magics that stem from your surroundings. It also helps for me that it is a magic support that isn't all just sitting back healing but buffing while dishing out a good amount of damage. Sadly I lost my old account and couldn't remember any of the information to get it back so I made this a year ago to play around with.
