I'm not the only one. When I used the waypoint to the new area my game crashed and every time I try to log into my main character it crashes but I can log onto my mule. I play on Xbox 360

Same, the game crashes on the waypoint, when I attempt to warp into the new area. This is on a laptop running windows 8 and Intel HD Graphics 4000

Running a file check but the other people have to and says its not working. So ima try to log in on another 360 and see if it will let my character load.

Ok so file check is done 258 files are bad and they all have to do with Rom9.

I am having the same problem. Does anyone know how I check the files to see if they are the right ones?

I had the same problem, also no music on the login screen/title screen. I'm reloading FFXI complete; theory I have is if you used the unoffical dat pack, this can happen, so updating without dat packs this time.

What's wierd is seekers showed as not installed after I did the file check (Check your add/remove programs guys) when I swear I installed it. I'll update soon as the update hell finishes.

Oh and for the record, this is Windows XP. But from what people are saying, I can see that it isn't ONLY XP. I think it's a update error. On any flavor windows, this could be caused by that dat pack, on Xbox just a update error. If I'm right, the update major flubbed if you had to hit Retry a lot. If my theory is right; your only remedy is to uninstall FFXI complete (Back up your macros first if you can!) and then reload FFXI.

This is from Drazzan he seemed to found a fix for PC users

For 360 users If file fix doesn't solve the issue which it didn't for me the you will need to reinstall FFXI and it should work just fine. To save you time it would be faster to just reinstall than to file check and repair.

Do we have a fix for this on the 360 version yet?

Update on my problem; The reinstall did the trick, I was able to get the first few missions done and get the Geo quest. And the music on the title screen's back. I tend to install incrementally btw if anyone doesn't know; first the Vana'diel Collection, then update, then ToAU, then update, and then Wings of the Goddess, then update, then Seekers.

Complicated but it worked.

Xbox players; you might wanna try it. I know you can't do what us pc players can and grab your macros before total uninstalling FFXI /wince but since Xbox does have a form of Windows on it, it might be worth a try if you're about to pitch the thing across the room.

In the POL lobby before you log in to your POL account, look to the left an click "check files" select FFXI not POL
There's 42000 files to check
