SoA for EU players with US accounts

ok there are still allot of playing in the EU that imported this game from America upon the US release. Please can you let us know will the SoA down load be region specific as if our only option is to download through steam it will not let us download the US version and will force the EU version on us

they've already answered this question.. its region specific. best way is to ask a US friend to buy a copy for you (or let you use their address as the billing address) and since its only a digital dl and not a hard copy it wont matter once the game is released

the problem with this is things like steem won't care what address you use it will see your IP is EU based and automatically redirect us to the EU download

I would like to know about this too. I have a US POL account but live in the UK so I need to download the US version of SoA. Neither the US SE online store nor Amazon.com will allow me to order it. Is SE going to provide any way that I and others in this situation can download SoA and receive the correct codes for our US game?

This is my situation as well and I blindly went ahead and got the EU version too, POL IDs are locked to their purchase regions and SE will not change them. Thus you have to find some way of getting the expansion and reg code from a friend in the US if you need the US version and a friend from the EU if you need the EU version. Sad i know, SE could really make these reg codes just work universal with only the main game install being regionally locked.

Ok I just had to employ an old purchasing trick i used some time back to get goods from the US to the UK. So for those of you with either one of these problems i have provided a guide that should work , can confirm it worked for me.

Situation:-
1) Is your POL-ID a US one and your are in the EU? If yes then you need a US version of the expansion coupled with a US Reg code.
2) Is your POL-ID a EU one and you are in the US? If yes then you need a EU version of the expansion coupled with an EU Reg code.

*** Note do this at your own risk i take no responsibility if it does not work for you ***

Solution for (1):-
This is my current situation and here is how i fixed it.
1) Get an account with Borderlinx.com (they allow you to have psuedo US based addresses)
2) Once you sign up with Borderlinx > go to your email > check for a confirmation email > click confirm
3) Once you have confirmed your acc with Borderlinx on the right hand side of the site click > My Suite addresses
4) Write down the address or copy to notepad.
5) Now you need to make a US Amazon account on www.amazon.com (note the .com not .co.uk)
6) Once you make an account on that site use the US address from borderlinx as your billing address and insert your EU Credit Card number and name
7) Once all that is done purchase Seekers of Adoulin from Amazon and it will allow you to D/l it this time (if not make sure the address on the lower right corner is the US address from borderlinx not your actual EU CC billing address).
8) Once the purchase is done give amazon game downloader a sec to run and once it does you get an exe on your computer. Run it and select install and then "view keys" that will load up your SoA US Keys :)

That should pretty much work for those of you in situation 1. I just regged my copy on the square website so it works and the install went fine. I cannot confirm if this method works for people in situation 2 but if anyone wants to give it a try borderlinx makes address for any country so you can make an EU/UK address and try making your purchase from the EU distributors like Gamesplanet.com

Hope this helps all of you until SE maybe adds a direct download via the pol client like that had for the abyssea pack.

Just to make sure, do you need to have an US shipping or billing adress?
Because give a different billing adress than on your cc, might give you weird questions from your bank x.x

Hi there Kimikryo, I have not received any notice from my bank as most online transactions may have a grace period before the bank lets the payment go through but in my case my bank had no issue with processing the payment if your bank does ask you to authenticate the transaction however then do the appropriate authentication (eg like visa has visa secure that makes you authenticate in a mini browser window).

All you are doing with Borderlinx is creating a US address to double as a Billing/shipping address, however since its an online download that wont be a problem and amazon will let you download the game to your local system.
