Looking for a good high-ping soloing job.

Hey, guys. This is my first post. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place to have this question.

I recently moved to Africa and the internet is pretty slow here. I'm not quite sure if it's too much slower than everyone else because of the 56k cap but I can definitely tell the difference when changing areas or looking at the AH. I haven't even tried PTing yet but I'm sure that's going to be hell.

I still love FFXI, though, so I figured I would level a job solo and just use Linkshell to be in touch with people. I'm wondering which job could be solo'd with a high-ping? Maybe even something non-traditional solo-job?

Hey there Tiburtay,

If you're looking for a good solo job in that specific case I would recommend Beastmaster.

If the high-ping doesn't end up being a big issue though, I really enjoy Puppetmaster, but that's kind of a hate it or love it job. It does require you to use job abilities a lot too, which have fairly quick cooldowns.

You might have a fine time partying even with the high-ping as long as you don't play a job that requires pinpoint timing, like WHM or NIN.

1. He was asking for a good -solo- job.
2. WHMs need to be able to respond quickly if damage spikes or the situation changes.
3. Most of these things take timing unless you're a sloppy as hell WHM.

BST is the easiest option, SMN is not bad either, RDM is great if you gear it well enough, DNC is not bad either.

Blue Mage is boss at soloing if you gear it properly and a lot more interactive than BST.

he asking for a job that will be fine soloing with high ping. other words hughesnet type connection with the high delay:(. bst would work well for you or even mnk work ok if you fighting easy with that connection. other jobs like nin any mage smn drg etc will be kinda bad with that +5 sec delay
