View Full Version : Trait Set

I have a thought, a fresh approach to our BLU point problem.
A dedicated trait set. This can be limited to half of the main set, example 60 BLU points would mean you have 30 points allotted for trait set or if they want to simplify it just maybe 3-5 traits of your choice. The catch is you can't use the spells in your trait set, good examples are:
-Double Attack (Acrid Stream & Empty Thrash)
-Fast Cast (Auroral Drape & Sub-zero Smash)
-Counter (Enervation & Asuran Claws)
Traits like Auto-Refresh have usable spells, so I would keep that in my main set.
Thoughts?

For Abyssea I pretty much do this. Slotting Refresh, and Auto-Refresh spells are kind of useless in abyssea, and since they take up a tremendous amount of Blu points... it frees up a lot.
I Typically have:
Fast Cast
Double Attack
Magic Attack Bonus
Store TP
Zanshin
Dual Wield
Skillchain Bonus.
The rest is damage and trigger spells as needed.

I'm talking outside of Abyss as Abyss will slowly fade with the next 2 updates. The job as a whole, not zone specific.

Yeah thats a good idea i was thinkin just that set spells for traits and free access to all spells that are not set make others able to join for common traits so that like self distruct light pence and refuleing and spells like that can be still used even though it would over power blu but not slightly still be able to make them useable for out side abyssea parties specially new blus and make like a area where we can kill mobs for spells with them in the same area to reduce time spent on the game hunting them so people can get on with there lives as well i mean they tell us not to be absorbed into the game but make everything we want so hard to get

The hidden assumption here is that you are leaning towards physical magic.
It depends on sub-job I usually (/RDM /DNC /WAR in that order), but (outside Abyssea) I always use these:
Dual-Wield
Skillchain Bonus
Double Attack
Auto-Refresh
Magic Attack Bonus (if possible)
Accuracy Bonus (if possible)
Zanshin (if possible)

If this is the case, you should express such limitations in your original post...
Either way I don't typically worry about Auto-Refresh, it's too much for so little.. Whether I'm in abyssea or not, I go for traits; if I'm out I usually end up sacrificing something like zanshin or store TP for Battery charge. Basically the same set give or take. Blu's such a situational job as is, there's no "one way to do it". So whatever.

I stated this somewhere already I think it was in the blu adjustment thread where AL was talked about too.
My idea of needing this was simply this we need extra room for trait upgrades I/e attack bonus II and so on.
No reason we should be suck on level I basic traits at 90/99.
so yes i would like to have this.
