Sandoria mission 2-3 can not trade mythril sand

Hi.
I missed the step speaking to Grohm to obtain pickaxe and I bought the pickaxe from AH and finished retrieving the mythril sand. I am guessing this is why I am unable to trade the sand to Savae E Paleade.

Now if I talk to Grohm, he wouldn't give me pickaxe and i think that's the only step I may have missed from the mission.

Could someone please tell me what I can do?
I have been trying to figure this out for 2 nights now.

There is an npc (Pius) you need to talk to outside the presidents office before you can talk to Grohm to advance the quest. How you go about getting the sand doesn't really matter as long as you have it. So it is Savae E Paleade for first cut scene > Pius for second > Grohm for third and that should be the pickaxe cut scene you are after. Then you should be able to trade the sand to Savae E Paleade. Hope that helps.
