Will Seeker's of Adoulin copies for Xbox 360 be sold in stores or only in the SE store? I asked at my local Gamestop and they said they have never even heard of the game. Likewise there is no information whatsoever on the websites of Futureshop and Best Buy.
There's less than a month left and there seems to be no information whatsoever. I would love to know whether or not I will have to dish out the delivery fee for ordering it online.

Basically thats what it sounds like. So far as I have heard from people looking around, and seen for myself, it will be available for online distribution only, and will not be sold in stores. If you want it you will have to buy it online so far as I know right now.

Sounds awesome. So basically 360 players will have to dish out 10 dollars for delivery and have to wait a week after all the PC players get it, because I highly doubt they'd send them out before the release date.
After checking SE's order website, apparently for the normal edition it'd cost 41$ CND with slow delivery. If you want fast delivery it'd cost 75$. I hope to Chuck Norris they release it in stores.
Looks like SE store or Amazon.com only. No Gamestop or Bestbuy from the looks of it.

In spite of only hating Europeans a little, maybe a moderate amount at most, somebody at SE apparently hates Canadians a lot. After following some maple syrupy moose tracks to Amazon.ca I can see no signs of Seekers of Adoulin available for pre-order there.

Do you see a "Canada" option anywhere on this page?

It does kinda suprise me that a preorder isnt even being offered in all forms of marketing a month from the purchase date, and that no advertisments on any cable shows are even being considered. Imagine what one ad on the Cartoon Network's - Adult Swim - would do. WoW was successful not because of the quality of the game, but by the marketing campgain they ran for years on thier game worldwide. They really do need to advertise in mainstream media and offer it faster in English speaking countries. I'm guessing this is where the problems they have with translations really shine through.
As far as Bestbuy preorders, I doubt it will happen, the last time I was at Bestbuy all they had in thier video game section was game cards for Steam, Wow and Sims.

What, amazon canada doesn't have supersaver shipping? I was pretty sure amazon was going to be selling it.

I checked amazon Canada's website. Not one hit for SoA expansion. Basically if I want the super fast shipping for Amazing Global Priority Shipping so I would get it day of release, it would cost me 58$ from Amazon US.
Double the price of the actual game as I'm talking about expansion only and not the collectors set. Suppose it's better than SE store's 75$ but it's still a huge waste of cash. That's basically the price of a new console game. Of course if I choose normal shipping it would only cost 42$, with the added benefit of taking 8 to 16 days for delivery(April 5th-17th)...

jsyk its not a 'collector's edition' it's just a compilation. The only extra perk is an ingame item that was previously offered and another one.

Yup and I'll end up having to pay almost 20$ more for than the compilation just for the expansion. Darn SE and their laziness to ship to stores in other countries. If they'd sold in stores like Gamestop they might revive the game with fresh new players. At the moment it's more geared towards people who play it since you have to know about it to find it.
.
I don't think its laziness it costs them money to get in to retail

Which they would probably make back tenfold if they had it advertised and sold in gaming stores. I mean currently only 3 places sell it, the SE store, Amazon.com and possibly Steam. The only people who will buy are the people who play this game already. They won't get any new customers the way they are doing it now.

I agree, I know a lot of Final Fantasy fans myself who have never really heard about FFXI or knew it was a MMO till I told them. After that they could never get ahold of it because they couldn't find a place that sold it for Xbox, which is all they had at the time. Were it sold in stores, most or all of them would have picked it up and started playing, but instead, nothing. If SE put it in a store like Gamestop I am sure people would come in to look at games and see it on the shelves, and they would probably buy it. The fact its Final Fantasy is enough to get fans to at least buy and try the game, which is profit for SE. The only problem with it is if people looked into how the game is atm, it lacks a lot by compare to what people would expect, fixing those issues would make putting FFXI back on shelves very worth it I think.

jsyk they call it FINAL FANTASY® XI Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition, it might not be a collector's edition, but not really worth pointing out. The word collection is in the title, i think its forgivable.
anyone who has pre-ordered know if the bonus items will be a code per item? and please no past experience wiht the last collection as i bought that and i know how it worked, i want to make sure before i decide to order a collection with the regular version of this expansion for both my characters. my newer character has the hat already so if i can use the hat on my main and the shirt on the new guy i will be happy.

Given the rarity of the 360 copy and its expansions, I'm surprised they're not trying to at least push out the Seekers Editions to stores as an "all-in-one" starter/reinstall solution.

Their marketing for this game has always been pathetic. I do remember a few advertisements back in the day when it first came out (I think?), but recently, there hasn't been anything. If they trash 14 and use its "resources" to promote one game instead of two, they'd make a hell of a lot more money.

I don't get why they wouldn't at least have a limited supply for Gamestop and Amazon. They could send enough to fill whatever pre-orders they get and a bit extra for possible new subscribers.
Maybe I should go bash my head with a brick so I can think like SE management does.

Broke down and paid the 58$ for order from Amazon.com. I couldn't get it any cheaper as Amazon.ca doesn't even have SoA listed and the SE store wants 75$ for it... This wasn't even the collection, it was just the expansion.

@ triffle did you get codes for the bonus items with it when you purchased it? were the codes for the items separate?

Wouk be nice if an SE rep could comment on this. I'm holding out hope some copies will make it to store otherwise I'm playing without my wife until we get an Xbox copy. Last version I saw a copy of, and happened to purchase, was Vana'diel Collection 2008.

About time they started releasing in Amazon.ca. They still don't have pricing on it though. Guess I'll cancel my Amazon.com order if this comes out to be cheaper.

Because its almost double the price thanks to SE's inability to get it in stores sooner than the day before release...

Because if they were sold in stores like every other game that comes out on Xbox, I'd only be paying 30$ and taxes instead of ridiculous shipping and customs prices.

Just checked the GS website and the Exp is available to order but only online, so looks like there will be none shipped to their brick and mortar stores. Its is only the Exp not the Collection for 360 and just the collection for PC.

Still nothing for Gamestop in Canada. 6 days to go and no info whatsoever on the forums from the devs.
I pre-ordered from EB games in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (gamestop) at my local store in my home town. There is nothing online so I called the store directly and was assured they were taking pre-orders so went in and put a deposit down.

Confirmed you can order at Gamestop. Called my closest one this morning and although the guy was surprised and didn't know anything about it at first, he said according to their computer they are taking orders. It's weird that they still don't have it listed on the Canadian website.

Seems to be a seller called "Mythical Video Games" on the Amazon.ca entries for the 360 releases. Priced $10 higher than the American prices.
Not sure if SquareEnix is selling the physical copies through them or what though.
[EDIT] Lol, of course the promoted links on the SoA pages on Amazon are for gil buying and accounts....
