VW issue

A little bit of a rant here:

My best job right now is BLU. I only have an 85 almace, but the rest of my gear is pretty legit: NNI, STR shamshir, a very well macro'd Heavy Strike, etc. I out-parse most 2-handed non-empy/mythic/relic DDs depending if I'm struggling with procs or not, sometimes even empy/mythic/relics. Yeah, I struggle to stay on par with them on VWNMs like Bismark, but I would say that's a different story. I go as Blu/Nin to proc more but equip double attack as it takes less points. Blu/War, I wish...but that requires too many points.

My current issue is that people are not wanting to invite me into their VW party from fear I won't do crap. This is an issue as the party ends up taking on a lesser job from me. Currently, this is happening as I am now playing sch in a pt already with a sch and several blm's already. The pt leader literally said F*** blu, and that he will never invite them into his VW pts.

Are any other blu's from other servers facing similar issues? I know MOST blu's are ignorant on how to play the job right. Is that the only reason as to why I'm not being invited or is this due to the # of procs we have to maintain? Idk...Thoughts?

Mostly comes down to most people being ignorant sheep who are incapable of thinking for themselves. They'll see something on a forum about a pink blu spamming head butt instead of DDing and proccing and how bad they are and assume that all BLUs are similar or BLU being 58904375% worse than any other DD when it's not nearly as much of a gap as that. No matter how much evidence is presented to the contrary the stigma is unlikely to change, my advice is to continue fighting for it but don't get upset if someone has too thick of a skull to listen.

The problem is that, sadly, most groups aren't inviting you to DD. They're inviting you to proc, quickly and efficiently. That's the sad life of a blu in voidwatch. Most of the time as blu you're going to be in the "blm" pt; you know, the one with little to no melee support. Inb4 "that's what temp items are for." Yeah they're great, til the group is struggling with procs and you run out of fanatics and potions. Then there are those blus that can't land their procs, either because they just suck or they aren't capable of balancing their attempt to melee in full af3 (+1 or +2) while actually doing the procs the group is expecting them to do. I've seen some of the blus on here say they only proc when it's a 3 (hv), 5 (ev) or there are 2-3+ blu procs. It's a fine road to take, if you can handle it. I've just resigned myself to the fact that if a group is needing a DD, they aren't going to invite my blu. They're only going to invite my blu if they need blu magic procs. It really sucks, but that's the mentality of most vw groups. Keep pushing foward, melee (in not stupid gear) if you want to and as long as you can keep up with the procs the party is expecting, you'll be ahead of a lot of the blus out there.

im not going to lie, generally it not worth your time as a blu so switch for nq procs hell most of the time not worth it to change your spells most monsters in vw are long seance dead before your spells reset. make sure you set DW1 crescent and delta is what i normally go for that, and sub war i generally set fire thunder and wind procs (fire and thunder give some decent stats for cdc) zerk agressor and drinks and the fact Cdc is stacked to hell and back you will do a ton of dmg, wont beat the rag drks or the ukon wars but you will give most of the rest a run for there money even from the blm party, assuming you dont have one of those weird days were every proc is you >.>. O and on bismark make a nukeing set, and prepare to die many many times, most dd even double buffed will do crap melee dmg to him, but his resistance to dark orb, grudge, fire-spit thermal and gates is really low.

Oh nice! Didn't know about Bismarck, I have a nice nuke set waiting then. I only switch spells if I need to proc 3 or 5 depending on the current go% of the mob. I may try subbing war..but you say don't equip all dw sets?

your still primarily a magic procer so need alot of points for that. dw 1 lets you off hand your str sword and adds the extra hit to cdc, most of your tp should be from wings anyhow and depending on atmas from them as well.

Make your own pt, if you think you'd better to play on BLU. I have no idea why there are often ppl complaining about "I never get invited because I play X job" when you're free to make pt yourself.

And maybe once you start making your own pt, you will understand there are a lot more for a pt lead to think about.

Personally I do take BLU to majority of VW, but it's completely skippable. There are a couple of times I did skipped it in prov to save spots for my friend/LSmate that needs clear, since every BC is zerged and end in 2 min, have BLU or no BLU doesn't really make very big difference. For any VW needing red though, I'd rather have them for proc.
