Zilart wont work!

I have just reinstalled the entire game with Zilart CoP Aht Urgan and Wings of the goddess.

In the main menu screen Zilart is grey! I have tried reinstalling it and reupdating and that has not worked. I also checked my account and zilart is still registered.

Any ideas?

What are you reinstalling from? Ultimate Collection or some such? And PC, I assume?

Is Rise of the Zilart listed under Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features ?

Have you tried a file check within the POL Viewer?

Yeah i did it for POL and FFXI

All I can think of right now is uninstalling everything, and then installing things one at a time.

Install just the core game, log in, update, make sure it works.
Install Rise of the Zilart on top of that, log in, update, make sure it works.
Install Chains of Promathia on top of that, log in, update, make sure it works.

If you have only the core game and Zilart installed, and you still have Rise of the Zilart grayed out, then the problem is definitely Rise of the Zilart.

Yeah i just did a full uninstall and deleted everything and reinstalled everything and updated and still not working...i will try what you said now and do it one expansion at a time lol...yay fun

Oh and i even tried using a different Zilart file this time...same effect

Just did the reinstal...installed ffxi first then did the update. then installed zilart and updated and still not working!

Have you checked your SE account management to make sure it didn't get unchecked or something? IIRC you have to check each box for the expansions on that site before they will become playable in game. So if you got unsubbed with all the C&B maintenance issues that are being reported, then maybe something happened on there. Just a thought.

If you can log into secure.square-enix.com, select "Select Service", "PlayOnline / FINAL FANTASY XI", "Options List" and see "Rise of the Zilart" listed under "Permanent Options", and you still see "Rise of the Zilart" grayed out at the FFXI title screen, then you're probably better off finding install media from a less sketchy source, especially with all the account hacking going on.

im essentially having the same issue except its not showing ANY of my expacs but they are all listed under permanent options in my SE account page

I found my install disks but they were in a box in the basement so long that it can't be read anymore lol...but i have tried a few different installs that i downloaded and none are working...they seem to have the exact same files that are on the real disk though so not sure why they wouldn't work but i also know for a fact that when i used this file a year or so ago it worked fine and the game shows as installed in my programs list in control panel so i dunno...

I am currently doing the extremely slow update on my old ps2 i dug out to see if it works on there...if not then i know it is an account issue and if it does work then it could be a file issue or something else entirely....ugh

Then the issue is somewhere on your PC, or in your install media.

Managed to buff up the disk and installed with that...still same thing so i know it is not an issue with the install files...adn the fact that it is happening on my desktop and laptop which are totally different makes no sense....

I just got tired of it and purchased the abyssea collection on steam for 20 and installed.. (when its done updating i will let you know)

If you are able to confirm that the expansion is registered using the steps Ziyyigo-Tipyigo provided, the issue would lie with the installation media itself. If an expansion is grayed out it means that the PlayOnline Viewer or Final Fantasy XI is unable to read the installation from your CD. The only suggestion we would be able to provide, besides fully uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game, would be to acquire new installation media. With the upcoming release of Seekers of Adoulin, the Ultimate Collection: Seekers Edition would be a good option to do this. Purchasing the Ultimate Collection: Abyssea Edition would also resolve this issue.
