Hello,
I'd like to bring up a long standing issue related to customer support/care. There are a group of people who play FFXI that have accounts that do not match their region. This could be because they moved, or in many cases because they imported the game.
This group of people is highly discriminated against by SE and I think it's time we see some changes (these changes will automatically apply to FFXIV as well)
The problems:
1) Currently if you live outside of your region then your credit card will not be accepted and you will have to find an alternative way to pay.
2) Registration codes for one region cannot be used in any other region.
For years now I have had to buy webmoney to pay for FFXI, the conversion rates and cost of buying through 3rd party sites means I pay around 20$/month for my character. Not only that, but I have to buy the Japanese version and US version of the game. Generally after shipping, the Japanese version is between $70 and $100.
To be honest I'm posting this because I'm shocked at the step back SE has yet again taken.
Today I went to pre-order SoA from the Japanese SE store only to find that they no longer accept crysta for store purchases and are not accepting JP webmoney. So yet again I have to pay $70 for the expansion and have to wait 3-5 days for shipping for stupid reasons >.>;
On behalf of everyone else who plays on imported/foreign accounts (and I know a few on my server alone) Please let us change the region on our account. At the very least TAKE OUR MONEY w/o making us jump through a thousand hoops. I'd rather pay SE $70 for the expansion directly then overpay at some random online shop.
P.S. I know someone will bring this up. SE did let us change our accounts once. About 6 months to a year after the Security tokens were release they said that if we haven't attached our POL account to a SE account yet then we could shift the regions....obviously everyone got a token for the inventory....
