I think its about time they come out with group party's wheres there's tank / healer / DD / support role, to sign up just like (WoW but different to it) or we can all ways make a new account pay extra (£8.99 $9.99 what ever it is now and have 6 accounts and so on ) More and more people are playing as solo for this game part from the end game stuff. Linkshells are hard to get in when it comes to end game. I believe by putting this in it will get more people playing the hard core ending stuff. Or we can all ways do a /shout and hope someone will help you out lol.

Are you talking about WoW's Dungeon Finder? On the surface it seems like a good idea, but I figure the queue times would be just as horrible if not worse than shouting for help.

Given that WoW's dungeon finder scans all servers for groups, you are correct in that it would be better to just shout or go solo.
Expanded loot distribution would most likely be the number one thing to encourage parties, like if NMs gave out more KIs or trigger items or whatever according to the number of people killing it. Until then, we're all going to spend our time snagging NMs from under one another and trash talking.

They came out with these about 10 years ago.
"more and more people play solo apart from the endgame stuff" because the endgame stuff is what you need groups for. A lot of people don't even need to level up any more, so there's no way to force "traditional" parties to happen.
If you so badly want to bend over backwards for a 'balanced party" for leveling up, then search for some like minded people and just go do it! We see threads like this all the time, so there must be other people who want the same thing as you. Find them and team up. The rest of us who don't get their primary source of enjoyment from grinding normal mobs can continue enjoying everything else in the game.
One of the reasons many people are attracted to an MMO is because they want to be part of a world that feels alive- it doesn't mean they love grouping up and want to be in a 6 man party all day long- They just want an experience that isn't completely preprogrammed.

You still didn't get what I said, I would like group party not for exp for end game stuff bit like WoW raiding but different to it.
and I don't see it happening due to the fact they won't change any UI in the game, but then again those that have the end game linkshell don't need to comment on this.

Yeah queue times would be horrible for DD's only lol

Given that Auto-Group system presently in FFXI will happily make a party of 6 Warriors, a competent party-making system would be a huge leap. Also, I'm not sure if there's even any six-person content in FFXI right now that I'd want to "experience" with five random people, so something like mini-Voidwatch might need to be added to make that system worthwhile.
That sounds like a lot of work and the posts about Seekers of Adoulin's effects on other updates make FFXI's Development Bros sound overworked already. Not saying this is a bad idea, but you definitely shouldn't expect it to actually happen.

Queue times would be horrible for most any job on any event unless you're pulling people from all servers which will never happen.

We have plenty of content for that... Meeble burrows, MMM, Salvage, Assault/NNI... Am I missing something here?
I'll say this: I would spend a lot more time doing events and enjoying content casually if there was an auto group system that actually worked.
I don't think I'm alone in this either.
The greatest challenge in all of Vana'Diel is forming groups. If the game helped out with that in a meaningful way, I think it would change the game for the better.
Of course you would still want to form custom groups for really elite level stuff, but for stuff like voidwatch, meebles, limbus, salvage, nyzul assault, KSNMs, missions, Add-ons, etc.
Casually farm, craft or kill whichever kind of crab looks at you sideways and still be seeking for a specific event and get grouped up when you are ready to go....
That would be amazing...and it will never happen.
The grouping system in FFXI, imo, is one of its biggest, glaring flaws. I would love for this to not be its biggest, glaring flaw.
But I do not expect that, at this stage of the product life cycle, and with the company betting all their chips on FFXIV's reboot that anything as game changing as this will ever be added to FFXI's UI.

It's a good idea but personally I think that if SE designed the grouping system the setups you would get would be completely the wrong thing for the strategies people have found. SE is all about balance, that means they would bring a RDM and a BLM to NNI... considering you have to wait for tags I'd love to see the groups reactions when they get a noob BLM that REALLY wants Nares :P

i dunno if i like your Idea , ill admit on one hand that other games in general might have apealing aspects but changing something too what another system use's isnt as easy as you may think it is ...
think of it like this for every Inch of something you can look at on the game Multiply that by 4 then * 1hour devided by the number of staff that accually do code , then multiply that by the number of blocks of space if would take too fill the screen now multiply that by the number of angles you would look att the same space from then by the amount of screens it would take too create the whole area your playing in , and this forumla however crud and outdated still dosnt include items / stats / eviorment ettc computer cut this process by years but at the same time , becuase 10 years of 1990's work takes 1 year.. guess what now we do 5 times that on a game ... i could be wrong but changing something that seems small can really be a bigger issue then you know

all said in done i wouldnt like too see this , However i would like too see linshells Replaced witha Guild System and the ability to rent or buy Guild AREA with a storage area for each member , effectivly adding more team play , tournament pot. , room , and reasons too play the game more....
and the last item i have .. Remove make partys max 18 instead of 5
there is NO reason too require people too form an alliance too create a bigger party
just make it so if they want too alliance themselfs then the total number of members has too be less then 19
18 down ...
if not you get messege "the party size would be too great "

First off, that particular party dynamic has very little use in the game as it currently stands.
Secondly, there's never been much in the way of balance among the job roles among the player population (because of the above point). It won't be of much use when the population is 85% DD, 10% healer and 5% tank.
And last but not least, S-E has a lousy history of figuring what is (NIN) and is not (WAR) a tank.

Group party play-style is all alive and thriving in FFXI, there are tons of small party set up contents that favor this set up. You are not even required to stick with one particular one and can be creative with the jobs and subjobs combination. Events like Meeble, Nyzul + Neo, Salvage + Neo, Limbus, Assaults, etc just a few examples. Some of the old and new BCNMs also still require small party set up. What is dead is small party experience point set up. But if you can find a group of like minded people - or just a bunch of people who are needing xp, you could probably make old school party and do Ground Tomes. Be aware that you will have to kill Even Match - Very Tough. The downside of this is that you will gain level SO FAST that you will have to move your camp every 90 minutes-120 minutes or even less. Mob that con even match - tough would become decent within 2-3 levels gained. Which will happen quite fast at 6 person set up (especially if you are using your xp ring).
