One of the current problems in the game is the desirability of classes based off of what they have the ability to proc. I propose expanding the conditions for proccing Red and yellow !!.
For red:
keep all of the current WS, but also allow red to be procced by a LV2 SC of the same element. For example: if ice is the required element, and you don't have someone with great sword for freezebite, you could SC to create Distortion instead.
For Yellow:
keep the current spells, but also allow yellow to be procced by a magic burst of the same element. For example: if you do not have a BLM to cast freeze for ice, you could magic burst Tier 3 or 4 nukes (or blu magic that is equivalent to tier 3 or 4 nukes) instead.
This would alleviate much of the frustration that people have over needing very specific jobs with specific weapons skilled up, and the need to carry around a bunch of different weapons taking up inventory space. It would also bring the Skillchain and magic burst back in to the forefront of the game where it has been absent since abyssea was released.
